UNCASVILLE, CT (February 9, 2024) – Mohegan Sun Arena was named “Best Casino/Resort Venue of the Year” at the 35th Annual Pollstar Awards on Wednesday, February 7th in Los Angeles, CA. The Pollstar Awards recognize and support the live entertainment business’ most innovative companies, venues, artists, tours and executives. “Best Casino/Resort Venue of the Year” is an inaugural category for the award ceremony, making Mohegan Sun Arena the first to receive the prestigious recognition.
“With over 1,200 casinos in the US, to be singled out as the best by Pollstar is a tribute to the men and women who run our entertainment venues,” said Tom Cantone, President of Sports & Entertainment for Mohegan. “When you put people first, great things happen. This is the second national recognition Mohegan Sun has received for entertainment this year. UNCASVILLE, CT (February 6, 2024) –– Today, GRAMMY® Award-nominated Metal titans Lamb of God and GRAMMY® Award-winning band Mastodon announce the co-headlining Ashes Of Leviathan Tour. The tour finds the two iconic bands joining forces to celebrate the 20th anniversary of two seminal releases: Lamb of God’s biggest-selling album Ashes of the Wake and Mastodon’s acclaimed sophomore album Leviathan, which were both released on August 31, 2004. The 36th Annual Connecticut Cancer Foundation Celebrity
Dinner & Auction will take place inside the Uncas Ballroom at Mohegan Sun at 5:30pm on February 16th. Beginning at 3:00pm on the afternoon of this star-studded fundraising affair, the one-and-only Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo will bring a live broadcast of his SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio Show to Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den venue. Russo will also MC the celebrity dinner and auction which has tickets and sponsorship opportunities currently on sale through February 8th. These annual celebrity dinners feature delicious food, unique auction items and an exciting fundraising appeal through a lively Q&A with the special guests.
This celebrated event, founded by the late John Ellis who was a professional catcher for New York, Cleveland and Texas and was born in New London, CT, has raised millions since its inception in 1987.
