UNCASVILLE, CT (April 14, 2023) – Race down to the Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook on Saturday, May 6th for a day filled with free bets, great food, and more! The Derby Day celebration gets started at 10:00am. New York Racing Association’s very own Anthony “The Big A” Stabile and Mike “Mut” Mutnansky are guest handicappers for Derby Day. and Mohegan Sun will be putting on a brunch like no other. Also, popular restaurants like BALLO Italian Restaurant, SolToro, Michael Jordan’s Steak House and more are inviting guests to gather around the table for a special meal. Mother’s Day Brunch and all dining specials are offered on Sunday, May 14th unless otherwise specified.
Mohegan Sun’s Mother Day Brunch will be offering two types of brunch options to celebrate Mom this year. The first option is The Premium Brunch, which features an exclusive chef selected breakfast and lunch buffet that highlights delectable flavors from the land and sea, as well as a selection of specialty sweet treats for Mother’s Day dessert and a complimentary Mimosa, Bellini, and Bloody Mary bar. The Classic Brunch will feature a complimentary Mimosa, Bellini, and Bloody Mary bar along with popular breakfast comfort foods and hearty lunch favorites that will delight your taste buds in a buffet with a selection of special Mother’s Day desserts. Give Mom the gift of some quality family time filled with delicious food, indulgent desserts, classic cocktails and live music! Tickets are $75 for the Premium Brunch and $55 for the Classic Brunch. All tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Box Office, subject to availability. Alcohol will only be available for the adult ticket price.
Dinner at BALLO Italian Restaurant starts with slow-roasted tomatoes, grilled peaches, mozzarella and 12-year aged balsamic for $17. The first of two main course options is a Homemade Wild Mushroom Ravioli made with mascarpone, shaved asparagus, brown butter and sage for $28. The second option is a Surf and Turf consisting of an 8-ounce filet mignon, 4-ounce prosciutto wrapped scallops, watercress and radish salad for $70. Desert is a strawberry tart made with mascarpone, white chocolate and strawberry coulis for $12.
Sushi Koya will be offering a Pink Lady Roll for $20, House Sake for $5 and a Koya Cocktail for $10. This special is dine-in only and may not be combined with other discounts. Tax & gratuity is not included.
Guests who spend Mother’s Day with Michael Jordan’s Steak House can enjoy a Miso Honey Chilean Seabass paired with green onion mashed potatoes, bok choy and soy glaze for $52. Another option is the Octopus Carpaccio served with lemon, olives, capers, Sicilian dressing and sourdough bread for $18.
Hash House A Go Go is serving up a meal that features a Crab Cake Benedict consisting of house-made griddled crab cake on top of a bed of mashed potatoes, split biscuits, sliced tomatoes, and fresh spinach topped with over easy eggs and spicy chili cream for $30.99. Guests looking for a sweeter option can try the Raspberry White Chocolate Chip Pancake, which is a buttermilk pancake topped with raspberries and white chocolate chips, topped with more white chocolate chips and whipped cream for $13.49.
Jasper White’s Summer Shack will be offering a dine-in only, prix fixe menu for $45 per person. Guests can choose one item from each category. The appetizer options are a choice of Cocktail Shrimp (3), a Cup of Creamy Clam Chowder or a Mixed Greens Salad with house vinaigrette. The first entrée option is a Shack Style Baked Haddock made with tomato fondue and garlic crumbs, with jasmine rice and broccoli. The next option is a Grilled Lobster Tail featured with beurre blanc, roasted potatoes and daily vegetable. The last entrée choice is Tenderloin Steak Tips made with garlic butter and served with mashed potatoes and roasted mushrooms. For dessert, guests will be able to choose one of Jasper White Summer Shack’s house-made creations. Guests can also enjoy a glass of bubbles for $8 per glass. Mother’s Day at SolToro consists of two special options. The first option is a Horchata French Toast made with cinnamon-roasted apricots, horchata eggnog and Mexican crema for $15. The second option is Cochinita’s Enchiladas made with slow roasted pork, ranchera sauce, sour cream, queso fresco and corn tortillas for $19.

Mouthwatering festival returns June 17th & 18th, rain or shine

Over the course of BBQ Fest weekend, guests will have the chance to experience 50 different, mouthwatering BBQ options, full plate vending from nationally acclaimed BBQ vendors, sample small bites in our “People’s Choice Competition” and taste up to five different styles of Wings & Ribs in our annual competition. Sun BBQ Fest will also showcase World Food Championship (WFC) sanctioned barbecue teams that compete all over the country! Ribs & Wings Galore
Mohegan Sun is pulling back the curtain at BBQ Fest for guests to be a part of select judging times throughout the weekend. Participating World Food Championship teams will offer $2 BBQ samples all weekend long, and guests can feast throughout the day before voting for the best in show. Voting will be open from Saturday at 11:00am until Sunday at 3:00pm and the winners will be announced on Sunday at 4:00pm.
In addition to the People’s Choice competition, guests can indulge at the Rib and Wing Challenges. All participating WFC Team competitors will be given racks of ribs and loads of chicken wings to prepare in any flavor they wish. For a $5 entry, guests can try any five ribs or wings and vote for their favorite. Winners will be announced during Sunday’s Awards Ceremony at 4:00pm. The Rib Challenge Tent is open to guests on Saturday from Noon – 2:30pm, and the Wing Challenge Tent is open on Saturday from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. A portion of the proceeds from both competitions benefit Operation BBQ Relief, an organization dedicated to providing meals to disaster-stricken communities across the U.S.

Dan + Shay’s mark on Country music – and beyond – continues to grow with the release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Good Things.
