The four-tiered program, designed to propel players forward based on frequency of play, offers perks not found at competitor programs including generous discounts, the ability to earn rewards faster based on one’s frequency of play and tier status, and access to unique events and experiences.

Mohegan Sun Takes Home Two Casino Entertainment Awards At G2E Global Gaming Conference

Mohegan Sun Arena awarded Best Arena of the Year & Tom Cantone wins Entertainment Executive of the Year

Mohegan Sun took home two awards at the G2E Global Gaming Conference’s inaugural Casino Entertainment Awards in Las Vegas last night. Mohegan Sun won Best Arena of the Year, topping MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas and Thunder Valley Casino Resort Amphitheater in Lincoln, California and Senior Vice President of Sports & Entertainment, Tom Cantone, took home the prize for Entertainment Executive of the Year.  Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den was also nominated for the Best Theater of the Year.
This was the first ever entertainment awards ceremony at the G2E with votes tabulated nationwide.
“Accepting this award is the pinnacle of recognizing the best entertainment team in the nation, who all have ownership of building our entertainment product into one of the elite programs and venues in the world” said Tom Cantone, Senior VP of Sports & Entertainment.
Cantone was recently named to Senior Vice President of Sports and Entertainment for Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority (MTGA), operators of Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania and Mohegan Gaming Advisors, managers of Resorts Hotel Casino in Atlantic City.
G2E – is world’s largest gaming event from 32 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States. G2E is the premier trade show and conference event for the international gaming entertainment industry held Sept. 23-26, 2013 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Mohegan Sun Names Frederick Brown As Senior Vice President Of Information Technology And Chief Information Officer

UNCASVILLE, CT – Mohegan Sun is pleased to welcome Frederick Brown as Senior Vice President of InformationTechnology and Chief Information Officer where he will oversee all aspects of the Information Systems department. Brown has over 20 years of IT experience, most recently as Vice President of Information Technology at the flagship’s sister property, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Brown began at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in 2006 first serving as IT Engineering Manager, then moving on to become the Director of Information Technology before being promoted to Vice President of Information Technology in 2011. Prior to that, he worked as a programmer, analyst and Manager for Penn Software, Southern Union and System One Solutions.
Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from King’s College located in Pennsylvania.  He currently resides in the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania area with his wife Leann and two children.

The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority Names Tom Cantone as Senior Vice President of Sports & Entertainment


Uncasville, CT (August 26, 2013) – The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority (MTGA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Tom Cantone to Senior Vice President of Sports & Entertainment for MTGA.  In this newly-created corporate position, Cantone will oversee all aspects of the entertainment offerings at all MTGA properties including Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Additionally, he will resume similar responsibilities at all future properties acquired and/or managed by MTGA and the Mohegan Gaming Advisors.
“This will give us substantial synergy to select, buy and route artists and tours using our own network of properties throughout the Northeast and will centralize our entertainment buying power  giving us  more efficient use of our entertainment programming,” said Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer for MTGA.
Cantone previously served as Vice President of Sports & Entertainment of the flagship property in Connecticut since 2007. Prior to Mohegan Sun, Cantone held senior management marketing positions at Foxwoods Resort and Casino, Sands Hotel & Casino, Hershey Entertainment & Resort Co., Hollywood Casino and various Trump properties. He brings over 25 years of experience to his new role and is a graduate of Penn State University.

Renowned author Elin Hilderbrand to host Mohegan Sun's Winning Authors event on Sunday, August 18th


WHAT: Elin Hilderbrand, summertime-enthusiast and author of twelve beach-read romance novels, will be featured in a Winning Authors event on August 18th at Mohegan Sun with her most recent book, Beautiful Day.

IN DETAIL: She is the author of more than ten beach-read novels that captivate her readers with the summer-loving tales of beautiful Nantucket and on August 18th, Elin Hilderbrand is visiting Mohegan Sun with her new book, Beautiful Day, for a very special Winning Authors event.
The free event will kick off in The Cabaret Theatre at 3:00pm with a live discussion followed by a signing event at 3:30pm in The Shops concourse.  Beautiful Day was released on June 25th and will be available for purchase at Spin Street in The Shops concourse.  Hilderbrand is part of a list of outstanding authors that have participated in Winning Authors including Jerry West, Nora Roberts, Harlan Coben, Sue Grafton, Marcia Clark and Robin Cook.

ABOUT ELIN HILDERBRAND : Although born in Pennsylvania, Elin Hilderbrand looked forward to spending her childhood summers in Cape Cod with her family, playing games, adventuring around the beach and getting the perfect golden tan. When Hilderbrand’s father passed away when she was 16 years old, she spent that summer working in a costume factory warehouse, miles and miles away from her Cape Cod home. She promised herself that for the rest of her life she would always have a real summer.
After traveling extensively, Hilderbrand moved to Nantucket in 1993 and took a job as the “classified ads” writer at a local newspaper and later began her writing career. Hilderbrand is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the graduate fiction workshop at the University of Iowa.
Hilderbrand released her most recent book titled Beautiful Day, an emotional story of a Nantucket wedding that takes us into the heart of marriage, what it means to be faithful and how we choose to honor our commitments.
