Hash House A Go Go To Open At Mohegan Sun

Twisted farm food with Midwestern roots hits the East Coast
UNCASVILLE, CT  – Mohegan Sun is about to get a little twisted with the arrival of Hash House A Go Go, a new all-day dining spot opening in mid-December 2012. Hash House A Go Go will serve “twisted farm food” for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner at the restaurant group’s first East Coast location. Conceived of Midwestern roots, the concept launched in San Diego in 2000 and now boasts six additional outposts in Las Vegas, Reno and Chicago.
Hash House A Go Go, a name fusing the ideas of “old-style food” and “something new,” creates a fun, lighthearted dining experience offering traditional diner fare, spiced up with bold flavors and off-beat, over-the-top presentations.  Founder Andy Beardslee developed the wide-ranging menus based on his Indiana upbringing, incorporating fresh ingredients and generous portions. For the caffeine addicts, the restaurant offers a variety of lattes and coffee drinks, including flavors like ‘smores mocha, caramel all over mocha and the banana latte.
The restaurant’s décor, like the food, will be one part farm, one part urban. From the old-school black-and-white farm photos to the relaxed booths or the all-new modern Tractor Bar, Hash House A Go Go is about having a good time—sophistication with no pretention. The restaurant will seat 210 guests, including the new Tractor Bar.
Hash House A Go Go has received national recognition from the likes of Martha Stewart, Al Roker, Rachel Ray, Dr. Phil and Adam Richman of the Travel Channel’s “Man Vs. Food.” The team behind the wildly popular restaurant looks forward to opening its first East Coast restaurant at Mohegan Sun. “We couldn’t be more excited to bring our twisted Midwestern fare to this region of the country,” said Jim Rees, Chief Operating Officer. “Hash House A Go Go will be a lively gathering place playing on the high-energy and fun-loving style of Mohegan Sun while treating guests to inventive, farm-fresh food, presented in a style that’s all our own.”

Chart-topping band returns to Arena on March 8th

Emblem/Atlantic recording group Matchbox Twenty has announced the first leg of their eagerly awaited North American headline tour.  The multi-platinum rock band comes to Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, March 8th at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $49.50 and go on sale Friday, November 16th through Ticketmaster at 10:00am.  Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, November 17th, subject to availability.
Matchbox Twenty recently concluded a major Australian tour, thanking their fervent fan following for also catapulting NORTH to a #1 chart debut.  The band received rave reviews for their live shows including Sydney’s Music Network which hailed, “…one of the world’s best groups are still having infectious fun and branching out over their long and glorious career.”  The Australian dates followed a pair of sold out London shows including this year’s iTunes Festival 2012.
The 2013 tour celebrates Matchbox Twenty’s blockbuster album, NORTH, which exploded into the #1 position on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 after its first week in release earlier this year. Fueled by critical acclaim – as well as the hit singles, “She’s So Mean” and “Overjoyed” – the album’s unprecedented success marked the band’s first-ever chart-topper and #1 debut.
Matchbox Twenty’s fourth full-length studio recording and first all-new album in a decade, NORTH sees the band driving their Pop-Rock sound further forward, magnifying the indelible melodies, crafty lyricism and glorious hooks that have defined their multi-Platinum body of work.  Matchbox Twenty – Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette, Kyle Cook and Brian Yale – lived together last summer in a house in Nashville where they collaborated on the new material before once again joining forces with the Grammy Award-winning producer Matt Serletic at his Emblem Studios in Calabasas, California.  The result of their labors stands among the band’s finest, with songs like “Put Your Hands Up” and the top 10 sensation, “She’s So Mean,” marked by Matchbox Twenty’s instantly identifiable sonic approach and unadulterated high spirits.
In addition to more than 30 million records sold worldwide, Matchbox Twenty has also earned countless accolades, including five Grammy nominations, four American Music Award nods, the 2004 People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Musical Group.”
Furthermore, Rob Thomas has proven one of the most highly decorated artists of recent years, receiving three Grammy Awards, 11 BMI Awards, and two Billboard “Songwriter of the Year” honors for both his chart-topping solo work as well as collaborations with such legends as Santana, Mick Jagger, and Willie Nelson.  Thomas’ collaboration with Carlos Santana on “Smooth” was also named the #2 “Most Popular Song Ever” on Billboard’s list of the “100 Most Popular Songs Behind ‘The Twist.’” He was also named to Billboard’s “Top 20 List of Hot 100 Songwriters 2000-2011” at #5, and was the top ranking artist/songwriter on the list.
Mohegan Sun Arena is ranked 3rd in the U.S. and 4th in the world by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 and 2010 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.”  Venues Today also ranked Mohegan Sun Arena #4 in 2011 and ranked in the top six of “Top Stops of The Decade” in 2012.
