Kenny Chesney Announces His Big Revival

Kenny Chesney Takes The Big Revival on the road and plays Mohegan Sun Arena for back-to-back shows beginning Friday, April 24th

UNCASVILLE, CT (December 3, 2014) — With a year making The Big Revival, his 13th #1 Country Album debut, 8x “Entertainer of the Year” winner Kenny Chesney is ready to get back to the fans! Having already spawned the multiple week #1 “American Kids” and “Til Its Gone” hitting Billboard’s Country Singles chart at #25 the week before, his new music has clearly reinvigorated the No Shoes Nation. Mohegan Sun Arena welcomes the huge tour for a 2-night stay on Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th with special guest Chase Rice. Both shows will start at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $125.00 and $95.00 and go on sale Friday, December 12th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.  Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, December 13th, subject to availability.
Now, as revealed exclusively this morning to ABC’s Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Chesney returns to the place he draws inspiration, energy and a reason to believe in the power of music: his 2015 tour! Again, the man The Wall Street Journal deemed “The King of the Road” mixes it up playing arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums. He kicks off The Big Revival Tour, presented by Corona Light, in Nashville on his birthday, March 26, 2015.
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate,” Chesney, who confirmed he’s bringing The Big Revival Tour to America today on ABC’s Good Morning America, says. “I have been ready to get back out there for a long time. Now that we’re announced I’m fired up! This new music brings a new energy to the show, and I think it’s gonna take what we do to a whole other level.”
Impressive considering each of his headlining tours since 2002 has sold over a million tickets– making him the only Country act in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Past 25 Years. That’s a strong showing, given Chesney’s only been headlining half that time.
“But this is really about us and the fans… the fact that every year, so many people make their summer about coming to see us. I’ve missed that sense of community and that passion for the music. There’s gonna be some stuff from the new record and songs people haven’t heard in a while. There’s gonna be a whole lot of music and some surprises…
“I didn’t know if I could take the music as far as we were able to with the album. That’s the beauty of giving things enough time to be what they’re supposed to. We’re already working on next year’s video. I’ve seen the stage – and the lights! As the set list comes together, and we start locking down in rehearsals, this is gonna be a whole night. I hope the fans are ready.”
Rolling Stone echoes that, saying The Big Revival “continuously brings a sense of musical energy and emotional urgency…” and Billboard raved it “captures the zeitgeist of American youth in a way that John Mellencamp once owned.” Look for this year’s tour to offer the same kind of energy, intensity and excitement.
“Because of the number of artists we’re pulling into this year’s tour, the roll-out is a little trickier, but I think it’s going to be worth the wait, the pieces and the finding out. Rather than locking into one thing, I wanted to try to make each market the best it could be. I think people will be fired up once they see who’s playing where. And that means, there’s more news to come… A lot of our favorite cities are on the list, and so are some places we’ve never been. Get ready!”

The Pointer Sisters were one of the first black acts to be played in heavy rotation on MTV. The sisters, Ruth, Anita and June, saw incredible success in the 80s with albums Break Out, Contact and Hot Together. Collectively, the albums produced multiple top 40 hits, including “Neutron Dance,” which rose to #6 on the Pop charts and was included in the movie Beverly Hills Cop. Break Out was certified triple-platinum, making it the biggest selling album of the Pointer Sisters’ career.

Tiffany sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and scored hits like “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Could’ve Been” and “All This Time.” Now Tiffany’s voice—literally and figuratively— can be heard at its finest on Rose Tattoo, her eighth studio album and the first to fully explore her country music roots. “It’s come full circle,” she says.
A music prodigy, Debbie Gibson exploded on the Billboard Pop Charts at the tender age of 16 with the self-penned “Only In My Dreams.” The “Original Pop Princess” quickly became the youngest person ever to write, produce and perform a No. 1 hit song, “Foolish Beat,” a record she still holds today in the Guinness Book of World Records. To date, Gibson has sold
more than 16 million albums worldwide, performed for British Royalty and hosted “The American Music Awards,” produced by friend and legend Dick Clark.
Since the release of 1986′s debut, Wonderland, Andy Bell and Vince Clark of Erasure (recipients of Best British Group at The Brit Awards) – have gone on to sell over 20 million albums, 5 of them hitting #1 and had 17 Top 10 UK singles. The group were one of the pioneers of electronic music whose influence has certainly stood the test of time.
Club Nouveau is a contemporary R&B-Pop band that was formed by record producer/performer Jay King in 1986 in Sacramento, California, subsequent to the breakup of the Timex Social Club. From its debut album, Life, Love, and Pain, which was released in 1986, the group scored four consecutive hits with “Jealousy” (essentially an answer song responding to Timex Social Club’s hit “Rumors”), “Situation #9,” a remake of Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me,” and “Why You Treat Me So Bad.”
This Los Angeles-based synth Pop group, Berlin, founded by bassist John Crawford, singer Terri Nunn, and keyboard player David Diamond, made its first national impression with the provocative single “Sex (I’m A…)” from the gold-selling debut EP Pleasure Victim in 1982. The group was filled out by guitarist Rick Olsen, keyboard player Matt Reid, and drummer Rob Brill. Berlin’s first full-length LP was the gold Love Life in 1984. In 1985, the group was pared down to a trio of Crawford, Nunn, and Brill. Berlin topped the charts in 1986 with the single “Take My Breath Away,” the love theme from the Tom Cruise movie Top Gun.
Lisa Lisa and her band Cult Jam were one of the first freestyle music groups to emerge from New York City in the 1980s. Cult Jam consisted guitarist/basist Alex “Spanador” Moseley, and drummer and keyboardist Mike Hughes. They were assembled and produced by Full Force.
Singer Shannon hit gold with the trendsetting, pulsating dance classic “Let the Music Play” and other similar-sounding hits in the mid-’80s that helped lay the foundation for the ’90s electronica music genre. Born Brenda Shannon Greene in 1958 in Washington, D.C., Shannon grew up in Brooklyn and attended York University, majoring in accounting and minoring in music.
