Mohegan Sun Arena will welcome one of the most timeless and talented bands ever, when Earth, Wind & Fire heads to Uncasville, CT for a Saturday, June 21st performance.

During the 1970s, a new brand of Pop music was born – one that was steeped in African and African-American styles – particularly Jazz and R&B but appealed to a broader cross-section of the listening public. As founder and leader of the band Earth, Wind & Fire, Maurice White not only embraced but also helped bring about this evolution of Pop, which bridged the gap that has often separated the musical tastes of black and white America. It certainly was successful, as EWF combined high-caliber musicianship, wide-ranging musical genre eclecticism, and ’70s multicultural spiritualism. “I wanted to do something that hadn’t been done before,” Maurice explains. “Although we were basically Jazz musicians, we played Soul, Funk, Gospel, Blues, Jazz, Rock and dance music…which somehow ended up becoming Pop. We were coming out of a decade of experimentation, mind expansion and cosmic awareness. I wanted our music to convey messages of universal love and harmony without force-feeding listeners’ spiritual content.”
EWF would go on to sell millions of records world-wide and have charted countless hits like “Let’s Groove,” “Celebrate,” “Reasons” and “Saturday Nite.” Their concerts are also incredible, as the band is well-known for giving fans one of the most exciting, high-energy and impressive performances of any live act of their era.

For the first time ever –Wolf Den wins award for “Casino of the Year” in small capacity; Mohegan Sun Arena also wins its 4th ACM Award
UNCASVILLE, CT (March 31, 2014) – It was recently announced in Las Vegas, NV that Mohegan Sun has won multiple ACM Industry Awards, sweeping the field for Casino awards. For the first time ever, the Wolf Den has won for “Casino of the Year” for small capacity venue. Mohegan Sun Arena has also won “Casino of the Year” for medium capacity venues. An unprecedented 4th ACM Industry award for the Arena!
Industry Awards are presented at the annual ACM Honors event to be held in Nashville on September 9th, 2014 and aired on CBS. The Industry Awards are a part of the 49th Annual ACM Awards and are recognized in the annual program book handed out during the award show in Las Vegas on April 6th.

One of comedy’s biggest acts is heading to Mohegan Sun Arena for a night of laughs. Here Comes The Boom star Kevin James will perform on Saturday, September 13th at 8:00pm.

Kevin James, producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) and Zookeeper (2011) can be seen in his latest film, Here Comes The Boom. James also starred in Columbia Pictures’ blockbuster Grown Ups (2010) along with Adam Sandler; previously, James and Sandler worked together on I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007) and they were back together recently for Grown Ups 2 (2013).
James broke into the film world in 2005 in Columbia Pictures’ Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, but his comedy career started well before that as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom which became the enormously successful The King of Queens. The show enjoyed an 8-season run through 2007 and continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world.
In 2001, James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. In 2005, Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy.
Aside from his on-camera work, James’s voice has been featured in the animated films Barnyard (2006) for Nick Movies, as well as Monster House (2006) and Hotel Transylvania (2012) for Sony Pictures Animation.

John Mellencamp’s career in music, spanning more than 35 years, has seen him transition from pop star to one of the most highly regarded songwriters of a generation. He went on to release 26 albums with domestic sales exceeding 40 million units and amassed 22 Top 40 hits. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, he has been nominated for 13 Grammys, was recipient of Billboard’s Century Award, ASCAP Foundation’s Champion Award, The Woody Guthrie Award, Q’s Classic Songwriter Award, Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award and, most recently, the John Steinbeck Award. The social activism reflected in his songs helped catalyze Farm Aid, the concert series and organization that has addressed the struggle of American family farmers for more than 25 years.
