Cooking Demonstrations with Mohegan Sun’s Culinary Team: Every Friday at 11:00am and 6:00pm, visit with Mohegan Sun’s top chefs in The Shops at Mohegan Sun concourse as they share their recipes and culinary secrets including head chefs from Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain and Todd English’s Tuscany, among several others.
Party on the Patio of Todd English’s Tuscany: Every Friday starting at 9:00pm, there is a party on the patio of Todd English’s Tuscany where guests can not only enjoy drink specials, but actually learn how to make the hottest drinks with a professional mixologist. A live DJ will also spin the tunes each week.
Show off your Slot Skills: Slot tournaments will be held in Casino of the Earth across from Birches Bar & Grill on May 27th and June 24th. Only Player’s Club members can enter this ladies-only contest where there is a guaranteed $10,000 prize pool.
DJ in the Den: Each Friday, the Wolf Den transforms into a party with a DJ playing top hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s from Noon to 2:00pm. Must be 21 or older to enter the Wolf Den.

Season nine American Idol star to perform in The Shops at Mohegan Sun on Friday, May 20th
Mohegan Sun’s Reality Check returns on Friday, May 20th with the incredibly gifted singer Siobhan Magnus of American Idol’s season nine. The performance kicks off at 7:00pm followed by a signing event at 7:45pm. This free and exclusive event will take place in The Shops at Mohegan Sun.

Best known as a finalist on the ninth (2010) season of American Idol, Siobhan Magnus is far from the cookie cutter Pop diva some may associate with such shows. Continuing her world domination as an international powerhouse, global superstar Ke$ha announced today that she will add a summer leg to her “Get $leazy” worldwide tour. After selling out the first leg of this tour in minutes, Ke$ha hits the road again this summer, with the new dates kicking off in Harrington, DE on July 26th and wrapping on September 20th in Phoenix, AZ. Winning band will open for Bon Jovi’s 4th and final show on May 7th. Finals will be held on April 28th at Black Bear in Hartford, CT
Bon Jovi’s 2011 Tour, promoted by AEG Live, will stop at Mohegan Sun Arena for its 4th and final show on Saturday, May 7th at 8:00pm and one lucky band will get an opportunity to make a name for themselves. From now until April 28th, 96.5TIC’s “Wanted… Opening Band For Bon Jovi” contest will give aspiring unsigned Rock bands a chance to perform for thousands of fans as the opening act for Bon Jovi.
If you are an unsigned band interested in entering, log onto 965TIC.com from Wednesday, April 6th at approximately 7:20am through Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 11:59am and submit two (2) original songs of your band performing in an actual concert setting, including a biography of your band, a JPEG picture of your band plus a YouTube.com link to your band’s performance.
Beginning on Tuesday, April 12th at Noon, twenty randomly selected eligible band entries will be selected by a panel of experts and 96.5TIC. The twenty bands will be posted on 965TIC.com beginning on or about April 15th at approximately 7:20am for voting by the general public. On April 25th, the top four finalists will be announced at approximately 7:20am on “Craig and Company” in the morning.
The final four qualifiers must attend the “Wanted…Opening Band for Bon Jovi” finals on Thursday, April 28th at 7:30pm at Black Bear in Hartford. Any band that does not register by the assigned time at the determined venue on April 27th will forfeit their chance to participate in the event and will not win a prize.
The “Wanted…Opening Band for Bon Jovi” event requires each band to perform two original songs and a panel of experts of up to five judges will vote to select the grand prize winner. The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun has lined up a stellar list of headliners this May, beginning with R&B performers Bell Biv DeVoe on Friday, May 6th, followed by Hip Hop pioneer Vanilla Ice on Saturday, May 7th. Jimmy Wayne brings his Country tunes live in the Den on Friday, May 20th and Rock band Crossfade will bring the sounds of their latest album to the Wolf Den stage on Friday, May 27th. Finally, Rock royalty is honored as Wolf Den Hall of Fame inductee America arrives on Saturday, May 28th. Friday and Saturday Wolf Den shows begin at 8:00pm and Sunday shows are at 7:00pm unless otherwise noted. Admission is free, but all guests must be 21 or over.
Bell Biv DeVoe is an R&B musical group that branched off from New Edition. It consists of three of New Edition’s previous members, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe. The group took the R&B scene by storm in 1991 with their debut album, Poison.
Vanilla Ice rose to fame with his infectious 1990 hit, “Ice Ice Baby,” but concert-goers can expect more than that from this performer. His influences range from Old School Hip Hop to underground Rock, and what fans can expect is an eclectic combination of music genres and more when he takes the stage.
Country artist, Jimmy Wayne’s remake of the Hall & Oates Pop classic “Sara Smile” is now the centerpiece of an album that showcases his formidable talents as both a vocalist and a songwriter. His soulful singing permeates every note of such soaring, powerful ballads as “All the Time in the World,” “Belongs to You” and “Counting the Days.” He rocks splendidly on “There’s a Memory” and “Things I Believe.”
Crossfade may not have conquered all of its demons, but the band is sounding a vehement battle cry. The Columbia, SC outfit’s third album delves into familiar lyrical themes of betrayal and isolation—but there’s also more than a hint of renewal and resolution. The set’s 10 tracks, produced by the band, maintain the sonic thunderclap of Crossfade’s previous efforts, while propelling its guitar-grinding signature with a tapestry of orchestration and programming, and a flourish of keyboards, thanks to the addition of Les Hall to the permanent lineup, alongside Sloan, bassist Mitch James and drummer Will Hunt.
Wolf Den Hall of Fame Inductee America rose to fame in the 1970s with a string of commercially successful albums. The Folk/Rock band’s biggest hits include, “A Horse with No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair” and “Ventura Highway.”
