Mohegan Sun Hosts Annual Restaurant Week September 8th – 13th

Over 15 restaurants to offer various specials; also features a Chef Battle with celebrity judge Kathy Wakile

UNCASVILLE, CT – Bon Appétit! This September, Mohegan Sun has your fill as it celebrates its fourth annual Restaurant Week featuring deals and discounts at over 15 of its restaurants from September 8th – 13th.
A number of restaurants will be offering various discounts or deals including: BALLO Italian & Social Club, Chief’s Deli, Geno’s Pub, Hash House A Go Go, Jasper White’s Summer Shack, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Johnny Rockets, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, The Lansdowne Irish Pub & Music House, Michael Jordan’s 23.sportcafe, Michael Jordan’s Steak House, SolToro Tequila Grill and Virgil’s Real Barbecue.

Mohegan Sun Launches All-New Hot Summer Fun Lineup

$500,000 cash is up for grabs along with weekly car giveaways, celebrity sightings, pool parties and the hottest tour stops

UNCASVILLE, CT – Bigger. Better. Hotter. Just some of the words people will be saying about Mohegan Sun’s new Hot Summer Fun lineup. Now entering its 16th year, Mohegan Sun decided it was time to spice things up a bit. As part of this year’s revamped Hot Summer Fun celebrations, which kicks off June 23rd and runs through September 1st, there will be bigger fireworks displays, better giveaways and hotter entertainment.

Fireworks Extravaganzas

Mohegan Sun is making a bang this summer, and a big one, as they host three large Hot Summer Fun parties on the rooftop of the Riverview Garage. Open to all ages, the fun kicks off at 5:00pm and includes games for kids of all ages, carnival food favorites and samples of summer treats from CT based Farmers Cow, as well as Mohegan Sun’s Tiki Bar for guests 21+. These special celebrations will be held on Sunday, June 23rd to kick off Hot Summer Fun, on Thursday, July 25th and on Sunday, September 1st to wrap up summer. NOTE: Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Other various events will be taking place throughout the summer including Mohegan Sun’s Signature Events series. Mad-Dash Mondays

Over $500,000 cash is up for grabs this summer at Mohegan Sun with Mad-Dash Mondays. Starting June 24th, each Monday throughout the summer, 10 lucky Player’s Club members have the chance to walk away with their share of $50,000. Every half hour from Noon to 2:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, one lucky Player’s Club member playing at their favorite slot machines will have a chance to enter the Cash Cube containing $5,000.

Take Two Tuesdays

Mohegan Sun will have you seeing double every Tuesday throughout the summer. Beginning Tuesday, June 25th, Player’s Club members playing their favorite slot machines will earn double points from 6:00am to Midnight. Not a gamer? Not a problem. Seasons Buffet will be having specials throughout the day. Each week, one lucky guest will walk away with a car, but they aren’t the only winner. Guests playing around the winner could also receive a $50.00 gas credit good at Mohegan Sun Mobil Gas Station & Convenience Store.
On Thursday nights, things heat up with the return of GLO At The Pool, New England’s only night-time pool party. Virgil’s Real Barbecue Raises The Stakes At Mohegan Sun

Virgil’s Mohegan Sun is Now Open!
Barbecue lovers rejoice! True southern barbecue has landed in Connecticut, just in time for summer. Virgil’s Real BBQ, a haven for barbecue fans throughout Manhattan for nearly a decade, brings together the varied barbecue styles of Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas and beyond. The opening of their third location, this time at Mohegan Sun, addsanother delicious destination for Virgil’s and barbecue aficionados.
Known for their warm service, Southern-style barbecue and festive atmosphere, Virgil’s celebrated the pre-grand opening by treating 1,000 lucky diners to a complimentary meal at the sprawling 225-seat space at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut (located in the upper level of The Shops concourse). Now open to the public for lunch and dinner, casino-goers, hotel patrons, and locals alike can enjoy something for everyone, including Virgil’s famous comfort-food favorites, smoked meats, and vegetarian dishes.
True barbecue through and through, Virgil’s smokes all of their meats at a low temperature over indirect heat for up to ten hours with a unique mix of hickory, oak and fruit woods in two massive twin Southern Pride Smokers, in order to impart the most flavor. In turn, 80% of Virgil’s menu has a smoked element to it, including the mouthwatering Carolina Pulled Pork, Memphis Style Pork Spare Ribs and Barbecue Shrimp. To complement their BBQ specialties, the restaurant also offers a generous selection of sides made from scratch, including their warm and dense Buttermilk Biscuits, Cheddar Cheese Grits, Hickory Pit Baked Beans, and mustard-laced Coleslaw. Barbecue-inspired sandwiches and salads such as the Southern Chicken Caesar Salad with roasted corn salsa and biscuit croutons and Sliced Texas Beef Brisket sandwich on a sesame bun are also menu favorites.

To wash it all down, Virgil’s beer list is about as comprehensive as they come. They serve 16 beers on tap, including Virgil’s own recipe lager brewed by Magic Hat Brewery in Burlington, Vermont which is available by the glass, pint or growler, and 35 bottled beers in every style to match any mood or plate, from Lambics and wheat beers to porters and stouts, and everything in between. In addition, Virgil’s extensive selection of bourbons, scotches and specialty cocktails are sure to quench any barbecue-induced thirst.
Virgil’s fired up its pits and opened its doors in 1994 in New York City, after founder Artie Cutler traveled the back roads of the South sampling barbecue’s varied regional interpretations. Virgil’s was born shortly thereafter, melding together different styles from across the country, and arguably became the first restaurant in Manhattan to offer traditional Southern barbecue and hospitality.
