Mohegan Sun restaurants to offer gourmet dishes and desserts for Easter and Passover
UNCASVILLE, CT (April 3, 2009) – Mohegan Sun will feature special menu additions throughout the property for Easter & Passover. The following offerings will be available:
The Longhouse will be serving Braised Lamb Shank accompanied with Stuffed Morel Mushrooms and served with Spring Vegetable Couscous and Tomato Cabernet Jus. This will be offered at $34.00 per person.
At Birches Bar & Grill, enjoy a mouthwatering four-course meal that will start out with Soup du Jour and a Garden Salad with your choice of dressing. The entrée will feature a Roast Leg of Lamb with Parsnips, Maple-Glazed Carrots, Herbed Fingerling Potatoes, and Apple Demi Glaze infused with Mint. Top this meal off with Coconut Bombe with Fresh Berries and Edible Spring Flower, for $28.00 per person.
Starting on Passover and continuing through Easter, Fidelia’s will be showcasing some special menu items that include Gefilte Fish, Beet Horseradish and Matzo Crackers. On Easter Sunday, Fidelia’s will be offering Brown Sugar and Honey-Glazed Smoked Pork with Mélange of Brussels Sprouts, Baby Carrots, Broccoli and Cauliflower and Mashed Sweet Potatoes for $16.00 per person. Dessert will also feature Coconut Bombe with Fresh Berries and Edible Spring Flower.
Seasons Buffet will be showcasing an array of delicious foods and desserts starting at the carving board which will feature Slow Roasted Prime Rib, Shallot & Rosemary-Crusted Lamb Roast and Roasted Turkey Breast & Thighs. Other special items for Easter Sunday include Roasted Leg of Lamb with Mint Jus Li, Seared-Spiced Salmon and Shrimp with Chicken & Penne topped with a Cajun Cream Sauce. Add some savory sides such as Sautéed Green Beans with Wild Mushrooms, Honey-Buttered Yellow & White Corn and Maple Glazed Baby Carrots. Desserts will include favorites like Apple or Fruit Cobbler, Warm-Battered Cheesecake Bites and Sticky Buns, Cinnamon-Raison Rice Pudding, and Pineapple Upside-down Cake. National Burger Month is here and Mohegan Sun brings tips on how to cook that perfect burger and where to go if you can’t
UNCASVILLE, CT (April 2, 2009) – Mohegan Sun is a great place to enjoy various foods and great dining experiences, and one thing we’re certainly not short on is burgers. May is National Burger Month and Mohegan Sun is dishing out some valuable tips on how to cook the perfect burger from Executive Chef, Michael Luboff. Still rather have someone else do the cooking for you? Find out where you can enjoy thirty-one different burgers for each day of May under one roof at Mohegan Sun.
Chef Luboff’s Five Tips For Cooking A Great Burger:
1. Choose the right meat: The meat is the most essential ingredient and should be fresh ground chuck with an 80/20 blend, well-seasoned with kosher salt, fresh ground black pepper and a little Sacramento tomato juice.
2. Don’t ignore the bread: Ideally you want a soft potato roll, sesame seeded if you prefer, but nothing too crazy or seasoned. It is also a good idea to lightly toast each side of the roll.
3. Make it great with toppings: What’s a burger without cheese? A thick slice of American or cheddar cheese will do fine here, accompanied by crisp bacon, Heinz ketchup, crisp iceberg lettuce and a slice of beefsteak tomato to top it off.
4. Use equipment like the pros: It’s important to try and cook your burgers on a hot flat iron surface or griddle and avoid cooking over open flames. Pressing the burger is also a big no-no as doing so will run out all the juices and flavor.
5. Take your temperature: Hopefully a little red doesn’t scare you, because burgers are best eaten at medium. And don’t forget to wear a bib.

Special menu items to be featured on March 17th
Mohegan Sun’s culinary staff is set to sham-rock your taste buds with Irish-inspired dishes on St. Patrick’s Day. Lads and colleens can feast on Corned Beef, Cabbage, Carrots, Potatoes and Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake throughout the property on March 17th, all at prices that will save you some green.
The Cove will offer warm Corned Beef and Cabbage, Carrots, New Potatoes in Dill Butter with Grain Mustard Cream Sauce and Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake for dessert from 11:30am to close at $14.95 per person.
Birches Bar & Grill will serve warm Corned Beef and Cabbage, Carrots, Steamed Red Bliss Potatoes and Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake from 11:30am to close at $14.95 per person.
Fidelia’s will offer a three-course meal starting with Potato Leak Soup followed by warm Corned Beef and Cabbage, Carrots and Boiled New Potatoes, then a dessert course of Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake. The special will be offered at $14.95 and will be served from 11:00am to close.
Seasons Buffet will feature a variety of selections including Irish Soda Bread, “Corned Beef” Steamships, Seared Chicken Breasts with Jameson Irish Whiskey Cream Sauce, Irish Lamb Stew, Guinness Steamed Mussels, Fresh Mashed Irish Potatoes, Braised Cabbage and a variety of desserts to choose from. The medium body English-style ale returns to
The Brew Pub at Mohegan Sun
Mohegan Sun is excited to announce that its spring ale, Peeping Frog will be on tap throughout the property starting March 6th.
Named after the Moon of the Peeping Frogs, this English-style ale has a unique hops flavor and aroma that comes from the Fuggle hop. The gold and sparkling amber malts attribute to the ale’s light amber color, medium body and fresh finish. Peeping Frog is one of four seasonal ales brewed by Mohegan Sun.
“Peeping Frog has been a mainstay in The Brew Pub at Mohegan Sun for a little over a decade,” said Joel Johnson, Brew Pub Manager at Mohegan Sun. “This light English-style malt has a crisp and refreshing finish that complements the spring season.”

This Valentine’s Day, sweep your loved ones off their feet and let Mohegan Sun’s culinary staff do the cooking with hearty gourmet dishes including Steak Diane, Bourbon Pan-Roasted Lobster Tail, Baked Stuffed Shrimp with Seafood Stuffing and Veal Porterhouse. Pompeii & Caesar will offer a 16-ounce Veal Porterhouse served with Barolo Sauce, Olive Oil Whipped Potatoes, Chef’s Vegetable and a Modern Banana Split for dessert from 5:00pm to 11:00pm at $44.00 per person. Reservations are recommended.
The Longhouse will serve a Surf & Turf dish consisting of Steak Diane, Bourbon Pan-Roasted Lobster Tail, Potato Gnocchi, Roasted Baby Vegetables and a Modern Banana Split from 5:00pm to 11:00pm at $50.00 per person. Reservations are recommended.
Todd English’s Tuscany will offer a four course meal starting with Oysters with Caviar and Papaya, followed by Swordfish with Tamarind, Broccolini and Sweet Potatoes, then a Rack of Lamb with Madeira Jus, Ratatouille and Potato Purée and a dessert course of Baklava Cheesecake. The special will be offered at $60.00 and will be served from 4:00pm to 11:00pm. Reservations are recommended.
Bamboo Forest will prepare Crispy Steak and Grand Marnier Prawns for two from 5:00pm to 11:00pm at $65.00. Reservations are recommended.
