Annual Military and Veterans Event slated For Friday, November 3rd; Concert tickets on sale Friday, September 15th
UNCASVILLE, CT (September 12, 2017) – Mohegan Sun is proud to announce that it will be welcoming back Vets Rock, inpartnership with WTNH and iHeart Media, on Friday, November 3rd. The third annual Vets Rock kicks off with a special day filled with valuable support, services and resources for our military, veterans and their families including a career fair, suit fitting and a mobile vet center. The day will be capped off by a performance by legendary rocker, Joe Walsh, inside the award-winning Mohegan Sun Arena. The concert starts at 7:30pm.
This year’s event is in partnership and benefits the USO Connecticut (USO), our nation’s leading organization dedicated to serving our Armed Forces.
“This year we are all in on helping the USO. The USO is an organization that every veteran or family member of a veteran knows about. They’re a worldwide organization. They provide support to soldiers and families in far-flung dusty locations and here at home,” said Kevin Brown, Chairman, Mohegan Tribal Council.
“We are extremely fortunate to have the support of Mohegan Sun as we further expand USO programs and services throughout the state of Connecticut and the region,” said Brian Whiting, President & CEO USO Metropolitan New York. “This commitment will allow the USO to reach more service members and military families – ensuring they stay connected to the grateful nation they choose to defend.”
Vets Rock 2017 begins with an opening ceremony at 10:00am in The Shops concourse, hosted by Gil Simmons of WTNH-TV. Events thereafter will take place from 10:00am – 7:00pm.
Vets Rock Expo
One week before Veterans Day, the third annual Vets Rock, hosted by Mohegan Sun is to reach an overall goal of help, raise money, provide services and a good time for Veterans in and outside the Southeastern Connecticut community. Throughout the day in the Uncas Ballroom, Mohegan Sun and the USO, have provided special services and activities for Veterans and their families. Including a career fair and workshop presented by Hiring Our Heroes whom are featuring 100 employers from throughout the region. More events in the Uncas Ballroom include the Save – A – Suite Professional Attire fitting, complimentary flu shots for Veterans and a mobile vet center.
“The U.S. Department of Chambers partners with us with a Hiring Our Heroes job fair where over 100 local, regional and some national employers. That will literally take a resume, possibly do an interview and maybe even provide a job that very day right here in the ballroom,” said Brown.

First is the Tip – Off Tournament on Saturday, November 18th at 12:00pm, 2:30pm, 5:00pm, 7:30pm and Sunday, November
19th at 12:30pm, 3:00pm, 5:30pm and 8:00pm. Playing from the Naismith bracket is Boston College, La Salle University, Northwestern University and Texas Tech University. Playing from the Springfield bracket is Sacred Heart University, Saint Peter’s University, University of Main and University of South Alabama.

McHale is one of the most sought after comedians and actors in the industry and continues to perform his stand-up act around the country to sold-out audiences. McHale has been on shows such as the enormously popular celebrity news show E!’s The Soup in which he satirized Pop culture and current events. McHale is also best known for his starring role on the hit comedy series Community, which wrapped its sixth season on Yahoo after five seasons on NBC. Additionally, he was recently on Fox’s revival of X-File’s where he plays a conservative news anchor as well as CBS’ The Great Indoors.
Previously, McHale starred as Robin Williams’ son in A Merry Friggin’ Christmas and was seen in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced supernatural thriller Deliver Us From Evil. He also appeared in the Warner Bros’ romantic comedy Blended alongside Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. McHale’s additional film credits include Seth MacFarlane’s comedy smash TED, What’s Your Number?, The Big Year, Spy Kids: All The Time in The World and The Informant.

Over the past 20 – plus years, Trans-Siberian Orchestra has become a critically-acclaimed, multi-platinum, musical powerhouse, and its annual winter tours a beloved, multi-generational holiday tradition. 2017’s tour, a completely updated presentation of TSO’s unforgettable “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” is set to begin on November 16th and will visit more than 60 cities, for 100-plus performances, before concluding on December 30th. TSO’s tour will be a celebration of the art and accomplishments of the lauded group’s late creator/composer/lyricist, Paul O’Neill, and his inimitable creation, which he dubbed “Rock Theater.” Prior to his untimely passing, O’Neill worked tirelessly with his close-knit team preparing an exciting new take on “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” for the 2017 tour. Elemis Spa will close for renovations to re-open as Mandara Spa in spring 2018
UNCASVILLE, CT (August 31, 2017) – Elemis Spa at Mohegan Sun is set for a full renovation and will re-open as Mandara Spa, come spring of 2018. While the spa inside Sky Tower undergoes these changes, the Mandara Spa that already opened along with Earth Tower last year will operate as the primary spa at Mohegan Sun.
Key Details:
- Elemis Spa in Sky Tower will cease operation beginning August 30th
- A temporary Elemis Spa will be in operation beginning September 5th on the 4th level of Sky Tower. Mohegan Sun will have personnel available to guide guests to the new temporary location
- Mandara Spa full renovation expected to be completed within six months, for a spring 2018 re-opening
- Mohegan Sun’s 2nd hotel, Earth Tower, has a Mandara Spa and fitness center located on its lobby level that will serve as the hotel’s primary spa and fitness center during renovations
Hours of operation will be the same for both spas during the renovation; Mandara Spa in Earth Tower will be open from 8:30am to 7:00pm, Monday through Sunday and the temporary Elemis Spa in Sky Tower will be open from 8:30am to 7:00pm, Monday through Sunday.
*Some spa experiences will be limited while Mohegan Sun undergoes these renovations. Guests will need to arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to their service at their spa.
