A Major Installation Project Hits the Finish Line, Bringing 60 new Tesla Electric Vehicle Destination Chargers to Mohegan Sun
UNCASVILLE, CT (October 30, 2024) – Mohegan Sun, home to two unique casinos, an award-winning hotel and spa, top-ranking entertainment venues, 30+ dining experiences and the 130,000 square-foot Shops at Mohegan Sun which includes the only Tesla full-scale Sales & Delivery Center in the state, has rolled out 60 brand-new Destination Chargers for electric vehicle (EV) drivers. This now makes Mohegan Sun a hub for charging up, and home to the most Tesla chargers at one location in all of Connecticut.

Available 24/7, these new self-park public Tesla Destination Chargers at Mohegan Sun are available on Level Four of the Indian Summer Garage, Level Three of the Riverview Garage and Level Two of Winter Garage. These destination chargers are popular options for charging EVs at hotels, restaurants and resorts, which is why they’re a perfect fit for Mohegan Sun, one of the largest and most impressive casino & entertainment destinations in the world. Destination Chargers at Mohegan Sun provide roughly 44 miles of range per hour.
When guests arrive at a Destination Charger at Mohegan Sun, Tesla drivers can simply plug in to activate a session. All other electric vehicle Drivers access the Tesla ecosystem by scanning the QR code on the charger and following simple instructions for payment from there. EV Drivers will also be able to monitor charging progress in real time via the Tesla app. These features make for a convenient charging experience, and with no shortage of shopping, dining, nightlife, gaming, special events, award-winning sports & entertainment and more all under one roof at Mohegan Sun, EV drivers will have plenty to do as they charge up!

Sun Wine & Food Fest kicks off on Thursday, January 23rd with the CT Spotlight Series Featuring Two Roads from 8:00pm – 9:30pm in an intimate setting. At this event, attendees will discover Two Roads Brewing Company’s unique selection of brews and sample their classics and special projects. Also, hear more about their process of creating incredible brews, and taste delicious food expertly paired and prepared by a local chef.

The day two action of Sun Wine & Food Fest 2025 gets started in the Earth Ballroom with Suntory Global Spirits Presents: Asian Market from 6:00pm – 9:00pm where guests can immerse themselves in a true culinary adventure. Fans of Asian cuisine will watch as renowned celebrity chef and Food Network star, Esther Choi, teams up with fellow chefs to cook up incredible “Street Food” style fare made with masterful techniques and bold flavors. Guests looking to secure a sneak peek into all the extraordinary wines and culinary excellence that the Grand Tasting has to offer can make their way to the Earth Expo & Convention Center from 7:00pm – 10:00pm for the Grand Tasting Preview. From 8:00pm – 10:00pm, guests can bundle up and sip on premium, frosty, expertly crafted cocktails featuring Mohegan Sun’s Frosty Fusions and more at the Sun Patio Ice Bar Experience. Attendees can taste from more than 1,000 varieties of wine, beer, and spirits, sample exquisite dishes, and watch renowned chefs present live culinary demonstrations as they showcase their skills and share the tricks of the trade. From 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the Earth Ballroom, Vintage Cru will give guests an unparalleled opportunity to experience some of the world’s most revered and rare wines. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. UNCASVILLE, CT (October 14, 2024) – The recipient of the “World’s Greatest Elvis” Impersonator, Shawn Klush will close out 2024 with a live performance at Mohegan Sun Arena on Tuesday, December 31st. Klush takes the stage at 7:00pm.

Born and raised in the small coal-mining town of Pittston, Pennsylvania, Shawn’s love for music led him to begin imitating his musical idol, Elvis Presley. He performed in the famous Poconos region followed by a tour of Canada where he entered and won the $5,000 prize in the “Worldwide Elvis Competition” in Montreal. This caught the attention of the award-winning Las Vegas show, “Legends in Concert” where for many years he starred as ‘Elvis’ in their Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, Branson and Atlantic City show rooms. Each year he stars in the “Elvis Tribute Artist Spectacular Birthday Edition Tour.”, an extravaganza with Elvis’ own musicians, back-up singers, and friends, in major venues in the US and headlines the Elvis Tribute Artist World Tours.
Shawn has released 5 CDs. He has performed with Elvis’ closest friends, musicians and singers such as JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet, The Jordanaires, The Imperials, DJ Fontana, Charlie Hodge, Jerry Scheff, The Sweet Inspirations, Joe Guercio, Jerry Schilling and Joe Esposito.

UNCASVILLE, CT (October 10, 2024) – The Shed Restaurant, officially opened on Wednesday, October 9th in Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Earth, across from Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana. This new offering is the brainchild of co-founders John Tunney & John Rieger from BALLO Italian Restaurant.
“Over the last few years, we’ve been working really hard to grow our non-gaming business throughout our property with new restaurants and creating immersive dining experiences,” said Jeff Hamilton, president and general manager of Mohegan Sun. “I believe when The Shed opens, people are going to want to come here to visit The Shed, not come to Mohegan Sun and eat there because they happen to be here. As we choose food & beverage operators and as we open new restaurants that is always our goal – to put a great restaurant inside of a great property.”
“We spent time in Long Island at the other Shed Restaurant locations and we got really excited about how they deliver food that is comfortable and casual, but they do it with the same quality we’ve all come to love from BALLO. The Shed Restaurant has created more than 100 new jobs, including a culinary team led by Chef Roberto Baez. Chef Roberto’s menu offers a bright take on American comfort food and features a robust list of specialty brunch, lunch and dinner menu items — from the indulgent to the healthful – with the full menu available all day. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available, and many menu items can be customized to be a vegan dish, making The Shed Restaurant the only restaurant at the property to offer vegan dining. The Shed’s enticing brunch, lunch & dinner menus are only made better by the ultra-friendly team and rustic beach-chic ambiance that incorporates warm textured woods, pops of color and intriguing works of art.
Local contractors involved in the project include electric work by Native Sons Ltd., based in Plainville, CT and interior design and architecture completed by id3a, based in Glastonbury, CT.
The Shed is an 8,785 square-foot space, complete with a 2,150 square-foot dining area, and a 3,150 square-foot scratch kitchen plus walk-in units. The space seats 205 guests, including 11 seats at a full bar. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis with the ability to join a text-based waitlist at the door.
