Rain or shine, Sun BBQFest takes over the Winter Parking Lot
Uncasville, CT (April 21, 2015) – Get fired up for some finger-lickin’ fun during Sun BBQFest. On June 13th & 14th, savor the flavors of the best barbeque around with festivities featuring live music, a beer trailer, barbeque battles, local vendors, food trucks and so much more you can sink your teeth into!
Tickets for the event are $5.00 per day and go on sale Friday, April 24th through the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Kids 6 and under get in free.
Wings, Ribs & More!
Get in on all the BBQ action and decide who reigns supreme during the People’s Choice Contest all weekend long. Purchase samples from each vendor and cast your vote for the ultimate best at Sun BBQFest. Competition remains fierce on Saturday with a Wing Contest from Noon to 3:00pm followed by a Rib Challenege from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. For $5.00, each contest offers a sampling of wings or ribs for you to judge! A portion of the proceeds benefits the Sun BBQFest official charity, Operation BBQ Relief.
If relaxed, non-competetive snacking is more your style, peruse the impressive lineup of food trucks and vendors! The Wethersfield Famer’s Market will be on-site offering some of the best fare alongside the endless supply of Kansas City BBQ Society meats and over 30 vendor options to choose from! Wash it all down with a selection of beers including Bud, Bud Light, Yuengling and Sam Adams. Select cocktails will also be offered for $7.00, perfectly refreshing on a hot summer day!
Entertainment Galore
No festival would be complete without some live entertainment. The Winter Parking Lot spices things up with music, demos and a fireworks show to celebrate summertime and all things BBQ.
Be entertained all weekend long with live music on the main stage. Green Tea Band, Whiskey & Rye, Jay Dempsey Band, The Attiks and the Stephanie Hansen Band will be providing the beats for this epic parking lot party. Throughout the weekend, learn the tricks of the BBQ trade during demos and Q&A sessions on the main stage.
Saturday night goes out with a bang! Don’t miss a spectacular fireworks display. The fireworks kick off at 9:30pm and are guaranteed to be fun for the whole family.
NOTE: Mohegan Sun requires persons under the age of 18 to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the Sun BBQFest. Unescorted minors will have their parent/legal guardian contacted to pick them up immediately.

Mohegan Sun is proud to announce that the next Arena Walk of Fame inductee will be none other than one of the best and hardest working comedians in the world, Kevin Hart. A performer that Billboard Magazine recently stated, “may be embarking on the biggest comedy tour of all time,” will become the first comedian ever to headline a stadium at Lincoln Financial Field. Hart, who was awarded the “Comedy Genius Award” at last night’s 2015 MTV Movie Awards, also stars in the new hit film Get Hard with Will Ferrell and has countless other TV and film credits including BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood. Mohegan Sun Arena is more than honored to present the comedy superstar with a much deserved Walk of Fame star at 4:00pm prior to his stand-up show that evening, April 18th.

Kevin Hart’s “What Now” tour, scheduled for 8:00pm, marks the comedian’s 3rd sellout at Mohegan Sun Arena and will make him the 29th entertainer inducted into the Walk of Fame. The award seeks to recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination. The wait is over. Floyd Mayweather will fight Manny Pacquiao in one of the most anticipated fights in boxing history. This Welterweight World Championship unification bout will take place Saturday, May 2nd live on Pay-Per-View.
Come view all the action from inside Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom. Doors open at 9:00pm to view one of the most recent fights in anticipated time.
General admission stadium style seats will also have access to an open bar and food buffet. General admission tickets are $35.00 each. Tickets may be purchased at the Mohegan Sun Box Office or through Ticketmaster.
The fight will also be aired inside the space formerly known as Puma inside The Shops at Mohegan Sun. This space will be open to the public and will feature a cash bar. This event is standing room only; first-come, first-served.

Ace Atkins began his career as a crime reporter for The Tampa Tribune.
