MOHEGAN SUN TO BE THE PRESENTING SPONSOR AND VENUE HOST FOR THE FIRST SPARTAN RACE HELD IN CT ON JUNE 28TH
UNCASVILLE, CT (MARCH 07, 2014) – Mohegan Sun announced today it will be the presenting sponsor and venue host for the Connecticut Reebok Spartan Race on June 28, 2014. This will be the first event for Spartan Race, the world’s leading global obstacle race series, held in Connecticut and pairs one of the fastest growing lifestyle sports with a world leader in entertainment and gaming.
The Connecticut Spartan Sprint presented by Mohegan Sun will stretch 3+ miles through the breathtaking Connecticut woodlands, combined with 15+ obstacles that include a spear throw, barbed wire crawls, rope climbs, and fire jump. The Mohegan Sun landscape offers everything from single-track trails to running along the scenic Thames River. Those who fail to complete an obstacle are required to perform 30 burpees, Spartan Race’s signature exercise.
Kevin Brown, Chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Council, is excited about hosting the Reebok Spartan Race. “I am very glad to hear that our reservation land has been chosen for the Reebok Spartan Race. To assist athletes in preparation for the race, Mohegan Sun will be hosting a Free Reebok Spartan Race Workout on March 30th at the Mohegan Sun Arena led by certified Spartan Coaches. The training session is open to both first timers and Spartan alumni, which will provide insight on how to survive the race. America’s favorite comic and the star of Comedy Central’s highest-rated specials, Jeff Dunham and his beloved cast of characters are bringing his “Disorderly Conduct” worldwide tour to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on Saturday, July 12th for an 8:00pm performance.

Dunham is best-known for his famed troupe of sidekicks who are on tour with him: Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, the beer-drinking redneck Bubba J, the manic purple creature Peanut, the spicy pepper from south of the border José Jalapeño and Peanut’s own ventriloquist dummy Little Jeff, a mini-version of the ringmaster himself. Dunham hand-crafts each character personally and brings them to life on stage.

Mohegan Sun is thrilled to host the highest selling comedy-recording artist in history as comedy great Jeff Foxworthy is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th show. The multiple Grammy-Award nominee and author of numerous books, is set for an 8:00pm show inside Mohegan Sun Arena.
