UNCASVILLE, CT (March 24, 2014)- Mohegan Sun has teamed up with Connecticut’s beer, and is pleased to announce the grand opening of Thomas Hooker Brewery. The brewery, located inside the Race Book in Casino of the Earth brews hand crafted, unique beers on-site at Mohegan Sun; providing beer buffs with the local, fresh, quality beer they’ve been searching for.
Named after the founding father of Hartford, the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company has been a Connecticut staple for years. Originating from Bloomfield, Hooker has drawn in an impressive following thanks to their refreshingly uncommon beers, brewery tours and tasting parties. Thomas Hooker boasts 14 unique beers including a summertime crowd pleaser, Watermelon Ale.
The Thomas Hooker Brewery at Mohegan Sun will officially open on Friday, March 28th. The Brewery will feature six beers on tap including their; Blonde, IPA, Irish Red Ale, Liberator Doppelbock, Chocolate Truffle Stout and one specialty beer crafted specifically for Mohegan Sun.
Thomas Hooker Brewery will celebrate the grand opening at Mohegan Sun with their first official “Final Friday” party on Friday, March 28th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Modeled after their popular Bloomfield events, guests are invited to stop by and experience the bustling brewery and unique brews. The celebration will feature 50% off all Thomas Hooker Draft Beers including a special hand crafted beer exclusive to Mohegan Sun.
Thomas Hooker Brewing Company is a firm supporter of the local community, and their partnership with Mohegan Sun is not their first Connecticut team-up. Hooker worked with the popular Connecticut Chocolatier, Munson’s Chocolate, to create their savory and sweet Chocolate Truffle Stout. John Mellencamp’s career in music, spanning more than 35 years, has seen him transition from pop star to one of the most highly regarded songwriters of a generation. Due to overwhelming demand, a second show in Uncasville, CT has been added to the Queen + Adam Lambert summer tour. Brian May, Roger Taylor + Adam Lambert will play Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, July 25th for an 8:00pm show. Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road. Superstar siblings Julianne and Derek Hough will star in their own all-new dance production, Move Live On Tour, onstage across North America beginning May 28 through July, 2014. MOHEGAN SUN TO BE THE PRESENTING SPONSOR AND VENUE HOST FOR THE FIRST SPARTAN RACE HELD IN CT ON JUNE 28TH
UNCASVILLE, CT (MARCH 07, 2014) – Mohegan Sun announced today it will be the presenting sponsor and venue host for the Connecticut Reebok Spartan Race on June 28, 2014. This will be the first event for Spartan Race, the world’s leading global obstacle race series, held in Connecticut and pairs one of the fastest growing lifestyle sports with a world leader in entertainment and gaming.
The Connecticut Spartan Sprint presented by Mohegan Sun will stretch 3+ miles through the breathtaking Connecticut woodlands, combined with 15+ obstacles that include a spear throw, barbed wire crawls, rope climbs, and fire jump. The Mohegan Sun landscape offers everything from single-track trails to running along the scenic Thames River. Those who fail to complete an obstacle are required to perform 30 burpees, Spartan Race’s signature exercise.
