A special signing event with Joe Manganiello, a Costume Party, Bar Crawl and plenty more make up Halloween weekend starting Friday, October 28th
WHAT: Halloween is on its way and Mohegan Sun will certainly be the place to celebrate… all weekend long. The action will kick off on Friday, October 28th and last through Halloween night on the 31st. Festivities will include the likes of a special Signings & Sightings with star of True Blood, Joe Manganiello, a DJ hosted and HobNob sponsored Costume Party on the Tuscany Patio, a Bacardi & Shock Top sponsored Halloween Bar Crawl throughout select Mohegan Sun bars & lounges as well as great dining and shopping deals across the property.

JOE MANGANIELLO OF TRUE BLOOD, SIGNINGS & SIGHTINGS
On Saturday, October 29th, Joe Manganiello will be signing autographs and greeting fans in a special Signings & Sightings appearance from 9:00pm – 10:00pm. Due to the popularity of this event, the signing will be bracelet-only. Bracelets will be distributed starting at 7:00pm on Saturday, October 29th on a first-come, first-served basis at the signing stage in The Shops concourse. Bracelets must be worn in order to gain entrance into this autograph-only event.
Joe Manganiello will also be making an appearance at the Costume Party taking place on the Tuscany Patio later in the evening, more details below.
HALLOWEEN BAR CRAWL
The Halloween Bar Crawl, open to the public and sponsored by Bacardi & Shock Top, will take place on Saturday, October 29th. Participants will get a stamp at each location to win prizes at a drawing set to take place at The Shops concourse Bar at or around last call (1:30am). The list of bars involved with the crawl and the times at which guests can get their stamps are as follows:

Perhaps the most fun takes place on Saturday, October 29th at 10:00pm on the Tuscany Patio when the HobNob sponsored Halloween Costume Party kicks off. A live DJ will set the mood and in addition, guests will be treated to a special appearance by Joe Manganiello from True Blood following his Signings & Sightings event. Winners of the Costume Party will receive a complimentary hotel stay with a $150.00 food allowance (valid for Sunday – Thursdays).

New penny machines hit Mohegan Sun including the WMS Battleship which will be the first of its kind in New England
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that two of the most prominent electronic game entertainment companies, WMS and IGT, will be adding more exciting new slot machines to the gaming floor. ABOUT JOE: Joe Manganiello was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and brought up in one of its suburbs, Mt. Lebanon. Joe’s interest in becoming a better film maker led him to audition and then play the part of Jud Frye in the musical Oklahoma! in his senior year of high school. He also participated in the school’s TV studio and borrowed their equipment to pursue his film making endeavors. After high school, Joe attended the University of Pittsburgh for a year and then auditioned and became one of seventeen to be accepted at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. Joe moved to Los Angeles after graduating and immediately signed with an agent and auditioned for the movie Spider-Man where he landed the role of Eugene “Flash” Thompson, a nemesis to Spider-Man. He has also appeared on the TV shows, How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill, ER, Medium and CSI. Currently, Joe can be seen on True Blood, joining the cast in its third season.

While there are faux adaptations and recital and training school productions, Albano’s Nutcracker is a professional production featuring a cast of International ballet stars, some of whom he has trained. Most notably: Eric Carnes from Newington, an Albano trained Principal Dancer, who alternates as the Cavalier Prince with Italy’s Marcello Algeri.
What separates Albano’s Nutcracker from Boston and New York productions is the extraordinary choreography. Joseph Albano is a world-renowned choreographer with ballets in European dance companies. Albano is the president of Italy’s International Dance Competition which is held annually in Sanremo, Italy. Starring in this year’s Albano’s Nutcracker cast is Ritsuko Sato from Japan as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Kerryanne Saunders a 14-year veteran with the company dances the Dew Drop and Sabrina Rinaldi is the Snow Princess.

Staind dove into bleaker recesses than ever before and surfaced with their heaviest and most hypnotic album to date, Staind, their self-titled, seventh studio album. The multi-platinum Massachusetts Hard Rock outfit—Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok and Johnny “Old School” April—pushed itself to the very brink. The outstanding rookies include Paul “Tiny” Sturgess, the world’s tallest pro basketball player at 7-8, Jonte “Too Tall” Hall, the shortest Globetrotter ever at 5-2, and Fatima “TNT” Maddox of Temple University, the team’s first female player since 1993 and ninth female in team history.
The new Globetrotters also feature the top three finishers from the 2011 College Slam Dunk Contest, including the reigning champ Jacob “Hops” Tucker. At 5-10, Tucker sports a 50-inch vertical leap, and his YouTube videos have garnered well over four million views. Tucker joins slam dunk runner-up John “Jet” Williams of UNC-Asheville and semifinalist Darnell “Spider” Wilks of the University of Cincinnati.
The 2012 rookie class has a total of three seven-footers including 7-4 Jermaine “Stretch” Middleton, the third-tallest player in team history and 7-foot Anthony “Biggie” McClain.
At 7-8, Sturgess becomes the tallest Globetrotter ever after a career at Mountain State University (W.Va.). He is the 19th internationally born player in team history, hailing from Loughborough, England.

Cake expert & reality star unveils 15th Anniversary cake creation and takes part in exclusive Reality Check event in The Shops at Mohegan Sun on October 22nd
WHAT: Mohegan Sun is excited to announce that another “ingredient” has been added to its 15th Anniversary celebration. Buddy Valastro, owner of Carlo’s Bakery in New Jersey and star of TLC’s Cake Boss and Next Great Baker will be presenting Mohegan Sun with a special 15th Anniversary cake and serving it to guests on the terrace of Todd English’s Tuscany at 12:30pm. Valastro will continue the festivities with a signing event in The Shops at Mohegan Sun at 1:00pm. Both events are free and open to the public.

WHAT: As part of Mohegan Sun’s 15th Anniversary celebrations, season 9 contestant of Fox’s American Idol, Katie Stevens, will be hosting a special Reality Check on Sunday, October 23rd in The Shops at Mohegan Sun. The free event will feature a live performance at 2:00pm followed by a signing event at 2:45pm.

ABOUT KATIE: Katie Stevens is an American singer from Middlebury, Connecticut who finished in eighth place on the ninth season of American Idol. On August 13, 2009, she auditioned for American Idol in Boston, Massachusetts and sang “At Last” where all four judges advanced her to Hollywood. After her elimination, Stevens made several appearances on talk shows. On April 16, 2010, she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she performed “Over the Rainbow.” Stevens also appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman along with Andrew Garcia, where they sang “Superhuman” by Chris Brown and Keri Hilson. She also, along with Andrew Garcia, appeared on The Wendy Williams Show where she performed “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” After the tour, Katie moved to Los Angeles where she began to pursue a singing and acting career.
