Fall poker tournament to include the Northeast’s first multi-play event and a $1,650 buy-in Main Event from November 14th-21st
Mohegan Sun sweetens the pot this fall with the second annual Fall Showdown Poker Tournament. This eight day series of tournaments will feature a $250,000 guarantee total prize pool, affordable buy-ins, a big money main event and the Northeast’s first $100,000 guarantee three-day, multi-play event.
“We are really excited to introduce the three-day, multi-play event to the Northeast as part of our Fall Showdown,” said Bruce Dixon, Director of Poker for Mohegan Sun. “This newly structured tournament will add a new element that is not only affordable, but will allow our players to buy back into the tournament.”
The festivities kickoff on Sunday, November 14th with the Northeast’s first $235.00 buy-in three-day, multi-play poker event. This can’t miss event will give poker players several chances to buy back in once they have been eliminated and go for a share of the $100,000 guarantee prize pool.
The Fall Showdown concludes on Sunday, November 21st with the final table of the $1,650 buy-in No Limit Hold ‘Em Deep Stack $250,000 Guarantee Main Event which starts on November 19th.

Season seven American Idol finalist to take the stage in The Shops at Mohegan Sun on October 14th
Mohegan Sun’s Reality Check is excited to announce that singer/songwriter and Atlantic Records recording artist, Jason Castro, will be taking part in a special free performance on October 14th at 7:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre followed by an autograph signing in The Shops at Mohegan Sun. Jason will be signing copies of his recently released self-titled debut album which will be available for purchase prior to and on the day of this event.

Jason Castro won over millions of viewers as a contestant on the seventh season of the hit reality show American Idol. Castro, a singer/songwriter and guitarist, released his debut self-titled album through Atlantic Records earlier this year which featured the singles “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again,” “That’s What I’m Here For” and “This Heart Of Mine,” and received much critical acclaim. Longtime Mohegan Sun performer adds his name to the Walk of Fame
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that Tony Orlando, one of the most renowned entertainers, has be
en inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. This places Tony among an elite group of entertainers with stars in front of Mohegan Sun Arena. His induction took place Saturday, September 11th in The Shops concourse in front of a large crowd of faithful fans. Tony Orlando is the 21st star to be inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. Orlando was extremely honored and gracious as he accepted his star on the Walk of Fame and said to fans, “Mohegan Sun has been the most beautiful, finest and wonderful place to work in show business.”
Tony Orlando hit superstardom when he formed the Pop group Dawn with Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson. Their first big hit was the timeless “Tie A Yellow Ribbon (Round The Ole Oak Tree),” followed by classics like “Knock Three Times” and “Candida.” Throughout his prolific and versatile career, Tony has had five #1 hits, sold millions of records and has even starred in a Broadway show.

IN DETAIL: Prior to his performance in Mohegan Sun Arena on September 11th, Tony Orlando will be the 21st entertainer inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. Tony Orlando has entertained in all three venues at Mohegan Sun including an amazing run in The Cabaret Theatre selling over 17,500 tickets alone in his stretch of shows from 2002 through 2008. He played the Arena in September of 2007 and is excited to take the Arena stage again on Saturday, September 11th at 8:00pm.
