The Wolf Den Takes You Back
Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den will feature special acts that will take you back with two mid-day performances on select Mondays throughout September and October taking place from noon to 12:45pm and 1:15pm to 2:00pm.
Guests can join us on Labor Day, September 6th when the Bronx Wanderers will play a wide selection of Rock & Roll hits from yesterday. On September 13th and October 18th, Rick K. and the Allnighters will take their classic Rock & Roll show to the Wolf Den stage. On September 20th, The Main Street Cruisers will play their ‘’retro’’ Rock & Roll oldies. Phil Dirt & The Dozers head into town on September 27th and October 25th with a full set list of vintage Rock & Roll songs mixed with a new twist for today. One of the hottest up and coming Country bands to perform at benefit at Mohegan Sun October 1st
UNCASVILLE, CT (August 17, 2010) – Mohegan Sun is proud to announce a special performance by The Band Perry during the 2nd annual ‘MADD About Dancing’ competition in the Uncas Ballroom on Friday, October 1st.
The up and coming country sensations will perform a special set during the dancing competition that will feature the chart topping hits “Hip To My Heart” and “If I Die Young.” The performance will highlight an evening filled with Connecticut celebrities dancing in various styles including the Tango, Rumba, Waltz and Swing.
Discovered by Country sensation Garth Brooks’ manager Bob Doyle, The Band Perry was signed in 2009 by Republic Nashville and hasn’t looked back since. The band immediately released their debut single “Hip to My Heart” which peaked at #20 on the Billboard Country Music charts earlier this year. Their second single “If I Die Young” followed and also rose to the Top 40 on the charts. They are currently working on their self-titled debut album which will be released later this year.
This is the second year Mohegan Sun has teamed up with MADD, WCTY and Arthur Murray Dance Studios to host a night filled with fun, entertainment and competition as attendees raise awareness and funds for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
Doors to the Uncas Ballroom will open at 7:00pm where guests will have the opportunity to enjoy hand-passed hors d’oeuvres and participate in a silent auction featuring Steiner memorabilia, as well as autographed guitars from famed musicians and more before the celebrities take the stage at 8:00pm with their professional dance partners.
The group of celebrities includes: Veronica Ballestrini, local Country artist; Reischea Canidate, on-air personality at ESPN; Brittany Decker, Miss Connecticut 2010; Mike DiMauro, Assistant Sports Editor and Columnist for the New London Day; Mark Dixon, Meteorologist at WFSB; Dave Elder, WCTY Program Director and Afternoon Host; Charles Jaskiewicz Norwich Board of Education member; and Bram Weinstein, on-air personality at ESPN.
For the competition, each celebrity will be paired with a professional dance partner from Arthur Murray Dance Studios and will perform two short routines. Female celebrities will perform the Tango and Rumba, while male celebrities will try their hand at the Waltz and Swing.

A new event crowning the best beer and chili in the State on August 22nd
CPTV (Connecticut Public Television) and WNPR (Connecticut Public Radio) have been known for producing programs and special events that celebrate fine wine and rich culinary pursuits – from Eating CT to The Faith Middleton Show’s Food Schmooze to signature event wine dinners. Now the public broadcasting networks are turning their attention to another culinary pursuit: beer and chili!

Airfare, Las Vegas accommodations and $1,500 in cash to the grand prize winner of Mohegan Sun’s “Las Vegas Bone-nanza!”
Beginning on July 31st, handicappers can head to Mohegan Sun’s Race Book for a chance to win accommodations to The Orleans Hotel & Casino, $1,500 in cash and an entry to the Horse Player World Series Handicapping contest in Las Vegas. Greyhound and Thoroughbred race enthusiasts will have a shot each week to earn a spot into the final championship qualifier on September 11th.
Guests can earn entries in qualifying contests which will be held on July 31st, August 1st, 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th. The contests will be live money wagers on Palm Beach Kennel Club and Saratoga Race Course events with an entry fee of $40.00 per participant. The player who accrues the most money in each contest will win a cash prize and a spot into the final championship qualifier.

The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) are returning to southeastern Connecticut for the Mohegan Sun Invitational presented by Cooper Tires on Friday, October 1st, Saturday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd. Friday’s event begins at 8:00pm. Saturday’s event begins at 7:50pm and Sunday’s will begin at 2:00pm.

There will be three rounds of the Top 40 bull riders matched against the top bulls in the PBR. The scores from the three rides will be combined, and the Top 15 riders will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round following intermission on Sunday afternoon, where they will compete with one more bull. The rider with the highest total score after the championship round will be declared the winner.
The PBR is having the deepest title race in history with nine lead changes and six different riders on top of the BFTS standings and fifteen different winners through the first twenty events. The Mohegan Sun Invitational will be the second to the last event of the regular season as riders battle to qualify for the 2010 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals on October 20th-24th in Las Vegas and the chance to win $1 million.
