Convention includes special autograph signings with Richard “Rip” Hamilton, Jim Calhoun and Christian Fauria
UNCASVILLE, CT (February 20, 2024) – Mohegan Sun welcomes the return of the East Coast Collections Convention (EC3) on Saturday, February 24th from 10:00am – 6:00pm and Sunday, February 25th from 10:00am – 4:00pm in the Earth Ballroom. In addition to autograph signing sessions with Richard “Rip” Hamilton, Jim Calhoun and Christian Fauria, guests in attendance will be surrounded by sought after sports cards and other high-end collectibles in the sports and anime world. On Saturday, February 24th, Basketball Hall of Famer, former UConn men’s basketball head coach and 3X National Champion, Jim Calhoun, will host an autograph signing session from 10:30am – Noon. UConn legend Richard “Rip” Hamilton will also host an autograph session from 11:00am – Noon. Rip Hamilton had one of the most decorated careers in UConn basketball history, including playing under Calhoun when the men’s team won the National Championship in 1999. He then went on to play professional basketball for 14 years, resulting in a national championship with Detroit and earning three all-star recognitions. These autograph sessions will take place right before a special jersey retirement ceremony for Rip Hamilton at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT. On Sunday, February 25th, former professional football tight end, Christian Fauria, will be in the spotlight with an autograph session from 11:00am – 12:30pm.
Autograph sessions will be available for guests who purchase an autograph ticket. Autograph ticket holders are welcome to bring their own memorabilia to be signed, but in the event guests don’t have memorabilia, EC3 will provide complimentary 8×10 photo options. EC3 is set to have more than 150 vendor tables throughout the Earth Ballroom, featuring sports cards, trading card games, Pokémon cards, autographed memorabilia, artwork, Funko Pops and more. Guests can stop by the James Spence Authentication (JSA) table to get their personal autograph collection authenticated. Additionally, authentication and grading service, SGC, will be at the show collecting card submissions for grading; all standard submissions are $15 and have a 5-10 business day turnaround.

The 36th Annual Connecticut Cancer Foundation Celebrity
Dinner & Auction will take place inside the Uncas Ballroom at Mohegan Sun at 5:30pm on February 16th. Beginning at 3:00pm on the afternoon of this star-studded fundraising affair, the one-and-only Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo will bring a live broadcast of his SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio Show to Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den venue. Russo will also MC the celebrity dinner and auction which has tickets and sponsorship opportunities currently on sale through February 8th. These annual celebrity dinners feature delicious food, unique auction items and an exciting fundraising appeal through a lively Q&A with the special guests.
This celebrated event, founded by the late John Ellis who was a professional catcher for New York, Cleveland and Texas and was born in New London, CT, has raised millions since its inception in 1987. The tradition continues on Friday, February 16th for another incredible event set to feature special guests that include 7x Cy Young Award Winner & 11x All-Star, Roger Clemens; 5x All-Star & 4x Champion, Bernie Williams; 8x All-Star & 3x Champion, Darryl Strawberry and All-Star pitcher, Champion, and current sports commentator in NY — Ron Darling. Each of these remarkable athletes will also spend some time with Mad Dog Sports Radio as hosts Chris Russo and Steve Torre broadcast live from the Wolf Den.
