UNCASVILLE, CT (August 6, 2009)— The Shops at Mohegan Sun present the one-of-a-kind rocker and former American Idol contestant Amanda Overmyer on Thursday, August 27th. This special event will feature a live, free performance in The Shops concourse at Mohegan Sun at 7:00pm, followed by a signing event at 7:30pm. Overmyer will be autographing merchandise and copies of her album Solidify which is available for purchase at Spin Street.
Amanda Overmyer is an incredible young artist who displays her Classic Rock roots every time she sings or takes the stage. Rock legends like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger and Credence Clearwater Revival are some of her biggest inspirations, and the world got a glimpse of her talent on Fox’s American Idol season seven. She recorded her debut album Solidify in a remarkable nine days directly following the network series. UNCASVILLE, CT (August 5, 2009)— Up-and-coming Country group Gloriana will be making a special signing appearance at Mohegan Sun immediately following their show as the opening act for Taylor Swift on Friday, August 28th. UNCASVILLE, CT (August 4, 2009)— Spin Street and Mohegan Sun are playing host to one of Country music’s hottest artists Darryl Worley for an exclusive “Signings & Sightings” event. This exclusive personal appearance and CD signing will take place on the Spin Street Stage in The Shops at Mohegan Sun concourse immediately following his performance in the Wolf Den on Thursday, August 20th. This “Signings & Sightings” event is sponsored by Spin Street and The Shops at Mohegan Sun. Darryl Worley’s latest CD Sounds Like Life will be available and at sale price leading up to and on the day of this event at Spin Street.

Professional Bull Riders Live in the Arena Friday, October 16th – Sunday, October 18th
Mohegan Sun is excited to announce that the PBR’s 2009 Mohegan Sun Invitational presented by Cooper Tires will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, October 16th – Sunday, October 18th. On the final regular season stop of the 2009 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) tour, the world’s best bull riders will invade Mohegan Sun Arena where they will take on some of the rankest bulls the PBR has to offer.

Acoustic and Bluegrass group Mountain Heart will greet fans and sign copies of their latest album on July 15th
Spin Street and Mohegan Sun are excited to join forces once again for an exclusive “Signings & Sightings” event with Mountain Heart, a acoustic and Bluegrass group. This special appearance and CD signing will take place in the Wolf Den immediately following their performance in the Wolf Den on Wednesday, July 15th.
Mountain Heart will be taking the Wolf Den stage at 8:00pm. The Wolf Den is free and open to the public and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Mountain Heart’s newest CD that features live recordings from previous shows, “The Road That Never Ends” will be available for purchase at Spin Street leading up to and on the day of this event.
Mountain Heart’s unique sounds of Bluegrass and acoustic have made them appealing to a wide variety of musical tastes since their beginning in 1999. Special guests OneRepublic and Carolina Liar open for Rob Thomas in the arena on November 7th
Rob Thomas, one of the most creative artists and recognizable voices in Pop and Alternative music is set to take the stage for his third visit to Mohegan Sun Arena. Rob Thomas will rock concert goers on Saturday, November 7th at 7:00pm along with special guests OneRepublic and Carolina Liar.

Grammy award winner Rob Thomas made his debut in 1996 with his former band Matchbox Twenty. The band produced hits such as “3am”, “If You’re Gone”, and “How Far We’ve Come”. After ten years with Matchbox Twenty, his first attempt at a solo career began with three Grammy awards for his chart topping hit “Smooth” featuring Santana. His first solo album, titled …Something to Be, debuted at #1 with the hit “Lonely No More.” Rob Thomas is not only known for his voice, but also for his songwriting abilities. He has written songs for Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger and Chris Daughtry. Thomas’s newest single “Her Diamonds” is rocking up the charts, which is from his second solo album entitled Cradlesong out now.
OneRepublic is a chart-topping Rock band who has gained mainstream attention for their hits “Stop and Stare” and “Apologize.” The song “Apologize” has gone platinum three times and was #1 on the charts for five months straight. The band is made up of five members; Ryan Tedder (lead vocals, piano, guitar), Zach Filkins (guitar, backing vocals), Drew Brown (guitar), Brent Kutzle (bass, cello) and Eddie Fisher (drums).
Carolina Liar came onto the American rock scene with their song “Show Me What I’m Looking For.” Their hit song has been featured on 90210 and in various TV commercials. The lead singer, Chad Wolf is a native of South Carolina and came up with the name of Carolina Liar when starting the band. The remaining four band members are from Sweden.
