Southern Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd will be one of the first acts to play in Mohegan Sun Arena in 2009 when they take the stage on Saturday, January 3rd at 8:00pm.

Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Live on Friday, March 13th with special guests Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and The Last Vegas
Mötley Crüe has announced plans for their Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Winter Tour, hours before headlining a special one-off performance at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The Live Nation produced Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Tour will feature special guests Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and The Last Vegas. This monumental tour will play Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, March 13th at 7:00pm.

Rock icons Mötley Crüe recently returned to the charts with Saints of Los Angeles, their first new studio album featuring the original lineup — Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee and Vince Neil — in over a decade and the ninth studio album in their career. Based on the band’s New York Times bestseller The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band, the disc debuted at #1 on the Independent Album chart and was the top debut of the week on the Billboard’s top 200 at #4.
Hinder was formed in 2001 by drummer Cody Hanson, guitarist Joe Garvey and singer Austin Winkler. They released their first album, Extreme Behavior, in 2005 and became a household name with the tune “Lips of an Angel,” the album’s second single. Hinder recently released their sophomore effort Take It To The Limit, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 with 81,000 sales its first week.
Canadian Rock band Theory of a Deadman recently released their third studio album titled Scars & Souvenirs. To date the band has had a total of four top ten hits on the Mainstream Rock chart, including the #1 hit, “Bad Girlfriend.”
The Last Vegas is a Chicago based Rock band with members Nate Arling (drums), Adam Arling (guitar), Chad Cherry (lead vocals), John Wator (guitar) and Danny Smash (bass). The band earned their spot on this tour by winning the “Make Rock History” contest from Mötley Crüe and Guitar Center.

UNCASVILLE, CT (November 10, 2008) – Mohegan Sun’s “Wild Wednesdays” charity cook-offs between local fire departments, including the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department and Mohegan Sun Chefs, raised $50,493 for the American Red Cross Charter Oak Chapter of Connecticut. The cook-offs were held on Wednesdays between July 9th and August 27th on the rooftop of the Riverview Garage as part of Hot Summer Fun 2008 at Mohegan Sun.
Since 2002, the cook-offs have raised more than $260,000 for charities including, the Uniformed Firefighters Association for Widow’s and Children’s Fund of Greater New York, American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services Fund, Habitat for Humanity and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

Due to overwhelming demand, Staind’s frontman moves solo acoustic show into the Arena
Aaron Lewis, lead singer of the multi-platinum selling band Staind, returns to Mohegan Sun for a solo acoustic performance in the Arena. The performance is scheduled for Saturday, February 28th at 8:00pm.

An additional twenty-five seats have been added to Todd English’s Tuscany’s distinctive patio seating. The new 550 square feet of dining space, located next to Taughannick Falls Bar, will bring the restaurant’s seating capacity to 225 guests.

The tremendously-popular television show Dancing With The Stars is back on tour with a new lineup of celebrity dancers. The tour will be in Mohegan Sun Arena for two nights – Friday, January 30th and Saturday, January 31st. Both shows will begin at 8:00pm.

Presented by Bill Edwards, Cheap Trick will perform the entire Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album from start to finish.

Restaurants to feature gourmet dishes,
menu items and specialty desserts.
Mohegan Sun’s culinary staff is preparing an assortment of gourmet dishes this Thanksgiving. Turkey dinners, special menu items, as well as original menu items, will be served throughout the property at Mohegan Sun on Thursday, November 27th.
Mohegan Sun’s original steakhouse, The Longhouse will feature sides of Roasted Vegetables, Haricot Verts, Cranberry Walnut Butter, Candied Yams, Yukon Gold Potato Purée, Giblet Gravy and fresh Cranberry Sauce. The main course will consist of House-Brined & Carved Turkey Chestnut with either Bacon and Apple Stuffing or traditional Stuffing. Dinner will wrap up with a Deep Dish Pumpkin Tart in Gingersnap Crust with Spiced Chantilly Cream. Each meal will be offered at $28.00 per person. The Longhouse will be open from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.
Italian inspired Pompeii & Caesar will feature a meal made up of Marinated Cauliflower, Olive and Arugula Salad and Pumpkin Ravioli with Broken Gorgonzola Butter. Main courses will be Turkey Stuffed with Sausage coupled with Chestnuts and Prunes with Sweet and Sour Radicchio and Polenta with Bacon and Sage. Dessert will consist of a Deep Dish Pumpkin Tart in Gingersnap Crust with Spiced Chantilly Cream. Dinner will be priced at $36.00 per person and will be served from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.
Portions of White and Dark Turkey Meat with Apple Craisin Stuffing and Mashed Sweet Potatoes will be featured at Birches Bar & Grill. Each meal will begin with a choice of Soup or Salad as well as a variety of side dishes including Mashed Yukon Golds, two types of Chef’s Vegetables, Cranberry Sauce and Giblet Gravy. A serving of Deep Dish Pumpkin Tart in Gingersnap Crust with Spiced Chantilly Cream will be offered for dessert. Each meal will be priced at $21.95 per person. Birches will be open from 11:30am to 12:30am.
For a Tuscan spin on the traditional holiday menu, guests can dine at Todd English’s Tuscany. Roasted Beet and Pear Salad with Gorgonzola Walnut Pesto and Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage Brown Butterwill be offered as appetizers, followed by Turkey Crépinette, Mushroom Bread Pudding, Sweet Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts and Cranberry Port Gelée. A generous portion of Pecan Pie Crème Brûlée will be available for dessert. Each meal will be offered for $36.00 per person. In light of the holiday, Todd English’s Tuscany will be serving dinner throughout the day. The last reservation can be made no later than 9:30pm.
Sunburst and Seasons Buffet will offer a wide selection of dinners and desserts. Each buffet will feature a traditional Turkey dinner with all the fixins and a variety of desserts including Caramel Pumpkin Sheet Cake, Pumpkin Cheesecake Sheet and Cranberry Rice Krispie Treats. Seasons Buffet will be offered at $16.98, plus tax and will be open from 7:30am to 10:00pm. Sunburst Buffet will be offered at $19.81, plus tax and will be open from 11:00am to 9:00pm.
Fidelia’s and Mohegan Sun’s Room Service will offer an Ugly Mud Salad which consists of Seasonal Field Greens, Red Belgian Endive, Grape Tomatoes, Curly Carrots and Sweet Peppers, followed by a traditional Turkey dinner with White and Dark Meat, Herb Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Broccolini, Glazed Carrots, Cranberry Sauce and Giblet Gravy. A Deep Dish Pumpkin Tart in Gingersnap Crust with Spiced Chantilly Cream will be offered for dessert. Each meal will be priced at $20.00 per person until midnight.
In addition, on Thanksgiving morning, Mohegan Sun will be delivering fifty baskets containing Thanksgiving dinner to local charities, churches, the Norwich Soup Kitchen and local families in need. For the past seven years, Mohegan Sun has donated holiday baskets throughout the community on Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter.
