Live at The Cabaret Theatre May 10th and 11th
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 20, 2023) –– Star Comedian Anthony Rodia will perform two shows at The Cabaret Theatre at Mohegan Sun as a part of his Totally Relatable Tour on Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th. Both shows kick off at 8:00pm.

Rodia came out of the womb making people laugh. In his 20’s he tried a few open mics, but ultimately took a different career path as a finance manager of a luxury car dealership. In 2019, Rodia returned to comedy and left his day job to become a full-time stand-up comic. He hit the ground running and performed 100 shows in just nine months, and within three years Anthony has gained a massive fan base online and around the country.
In a very short time, Anthony gained over 900,000 social media followers and his YouTube videos have amassed over 22 million views. Rodia’s comedy pulls from his real life and razor-sharp observations on marriage, parenthood, road rage, and everything else worthy of a social media rant.
With the onset of quarantine, Anthony made the most of a captive audience, delivering a staggering 86 weekly videos. “ROAD RAGE WEDNESDAY” became a fan favorite, but his Uncle Vinny and Zia Lucia characters transformed into a phenomenon. They are the crazy uncle and aunt you love but can’t be out in public with, who speak their minds (whether you asked for it or not).

80’s Rock Invasion Lineup:
Stephen Pearcy of RATT
As the founder, lead singer and songwriter of the Metal Rock band RATT, Stephen Pearcy is credited with being a pioneer of the early 80’s Sunset Strip Rock scene. He led his creation to mega multi-platinum success year after year from 1984 to 1991, capturing critical acclaim for his performances, style and uniquely salacious vocals. Pearcy formed RATT in Los Angeles in 1982 from his previous band Mickey RATT. Known for their overtly sexual appearance, rebellious attitude and take no prisoner approach to Metal, Atlantic Records recognized RATT’s potential and star power, thus signing the band to a contract resulting in the 1984 album Out of the Cellar, which became one of many multi-platinum successes. RATT climbed up the charts with singles from Out of the Cellar, soaring past Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy”, Van Halen’s “Panama”, Madonna’s “Borderline” and David Bowie’s “Blue Jean”.
QUIET RIOT
QUIET RIOT is a Rock & Roll phenomenon. Famously described as the first Heavy Metal band to top the Pop chart at #1 on Billboard Magazine, the Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation thanks to their monster 1983 smash album Metal Health.
Vixen
Vixen is the only all-female band of the 80’s to sell over a million albums, have six #1 videos on MTV, and have four songs in Billboard’s Top 100. EMI Records released their self-named debut album Vixen featuring the groups’ first hit “Edge of a Broken Heart”, penned by Richard Marx and Fee Waybill (The Tubes). MTV became Vixen’s playground and so coupled with exhaustive touring Vixen embarked on their ride.
Riley’s LA Guns
L.A. Guns got their start on Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip. The band was formed in 1986 and signed with Polygram Records in 1987, recording their first album that summer. This first album, titled L.A. Guns, went on to sell over 1,000,000 copies giving the band its first platinum award. Tours with AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Def Leppard followed. A compilation of the videos made from this first album also earned the band earned the band a gold video award from the RIAA. L.A. Guns went into the studio to record their second album, Cocked and Loaded, in the spring of 1989. It was a hit right away with the release of “Rip and Tear” as the first single and video. “Never Enough” and “The Ballad of Jayne” followed, pushing the album toward platinum status once again. With more than 30 years’ worth of noteworthy material, the band have proved to be true warriors of the 80’s genre.

Shelly Vincent, Matt Remillard, Tarvis Simms and Tony Grano headline the 2023 class; renowned journalist Mark Allen Baker and promoter Art Pelullo & more will also be inducted
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 7, 2023) – The Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame is celebrating its 17th Annual Induction Ceremony in the Uncas Ballroom on Saturday, November 18th at 6:00pm. This event is open to the public, and in addition to celebrating the latest class of inductees, guests will have the unique opportunity to mingle with boxing legends and immerse themselves in the rich boxing culture of Connecticut.
Headlining inductees for the 2023 class are as follows:
Shelly Vincent | A native of New London, CT, Shelly Vincent made Providence, RI her boxing base for what turned out to be a spectacular career in the women’s featherweight division. She began her pro career in 2011, and it took her just three years to get a shot at a title. Vincent won a majority decision over Jackie Trivilino to capture the Universal Boxing Federation world super bantamweight championship and made a successful title defense against Christina Ruiz to win the IBA super bantamweight crown. Known for her crowd-pleasing style, Vincent’s pro career ended with a 27-2 record.
Matt Remillard | A two-time Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame Pro Fighter of the Year, Remillard took part in an event that has become rare in the boxing world. The Manchester featherweight, who was trained by another member of the CBHOF, Paul Cichon, was 23-0 when he put his NABF, WBO and NABO titles on the line to take on 24-0 Mikey Garcia in 2011. It was one of the few times that undefeated fighters with 20 plus wins squared off in the ring with world titles on the line. This highly anticipated bout turned out to be the only loss in Remillard’s career, as he finished with a 27-1 pro record with 15 knockouts. Remillard was a two-time Everlast Under-19 National Amateur champion and had numerous thrilling fights at Mohegan Sun Arena during his career.
Tarvis Simms | A Norwalk, CT native who comes from a boxing family, Simms was a middleweight with the nickname “Marvelous,” which could also describe his career as a pro. Simms finished with a superlative 27-1-1 record after a sterling amateur career. He won the WBF All-American middleweight title by outpointing Delray Raines in Bridgeport in 2008. One of Simms’ more notable victories came against former world champion Carl Daniels, who had amassed 50 wins before losing a unanimous decision to Simms in 2008.
Tony Grano | A graduate of RHAM High School in Hebron, CT, Grano exceeded expectations when he began his career as a professional heavyweight in 2005. He raced to a 15-1-1 record before he was matched against the highly regarded Travis Kauffman, who was 18-0 and heavily favored to defeat Grano. In a bout televised worldwide on HBO, Grano scored a stunning knockout victory. This matchup was named the “2009 Heavyweight Fight of the Year” by Ringside Magazine. Victories over Brian Minto and DaVarryl Williamson gave Grano the NABF heavyweight title in 2012. Known as the “Hebron Hammer,” Grano, now 42, would finish his career with a 20-3-1 record with 16 knockouts.
Mark Allen Baker | One of the most accomplished boxing journalists in the world, Baker has devoted much of his life to chronicling many notable moments in the sport of boxing. His published works range from “Willie Pep, a Biography of the 20th Century’s Greatest Featherweight,’’ to “The World Colored Heavyweight Championship, 1876-1937.’’ His book “Connecticut Boxing, The Fights, The Fighters, and the Fight Game,” was #1 on Amazon’s list of Hot New Releases in 2021. An author of over 25 books about American culture, history, and sports, Baker splits his time between New England and Florida, and is currently a member of the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame Board of Directors.
Art Pelullo | Banner Promotions is one of the big hitters in the promotional game, and a lot of the success can be attributed to President and CEO, Arthur Pelullo. Pelullo began Banner Promotions in 1988, and has established a worldwide presence over 35 years, including in Connecticut. A Philadelphia native and member of the Pennsylvania Boxing Hall of Fame, Pelullo has promoted more than 200 shows worldwide on a variety of networks including HBO, Showtime, and Fox. The list of world champions promoted by Pelullo include Ricky Hatton, Diego Corrales, and Acelino Freitas.
Additional inductees include WNBC Middleweight Champion Elvin Ayala, IBO Super Bantamweight Champion Mike Oliver, top CT referee Danny Schiavone, long-time trainer Jose “Papo” Colon, and manager Mike Criscio. This monumental event will also honor Steve Carr, Eddie Dolan, Barbara Dunn, Al Gainer, Mosey King, William “Bill” J. Lee and Jimmy Leto from the 2020 class.

Mohegan Sun also set to offer Black Friday and Cyber Monday Hotel Flash Sales
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 3, 2023) – It’s that time of the year again; Thanksgiving arrives on Thursday, November 23rd and so do the mouthwatering dining specials at Mohegan Sun. Guests can enjoy a special meal on Thanksgiving at Michael Jordan’s Steak House, TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge, Todd English’s Tuscany and more. Additionally, Mohegan Sun will be offering Black Friday and Cyber Monday Hotel Flash Sales where guests can secure up to 50% off their stay!
TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge will be open from Noon – 7:00pm and will feature Roasted Duck Dumplings made with Szechuan garlic gravy, spiced fig and plum chutney for $25.
Over at Todd English’s Tuscany, guests can enjoy a special Thanksgiving prix fixe menu for $50. For the first course, guests will enjoy wood-roasted pear and gorgonzola salad, candied walnuts, pomegranate reduction, arugula and balsamic vinaigrette. The main course features sage-brined turkey, sausage potato stuffing, roasted root vegetables, a sweet potato topped with pecan crumble, and bacon Dijon Brussels. Last but not least, pecan bread pudding with vanilla gelato will be the featured dessert.
From 4:00pm – 9:00pm on Thanksgiving Day and Noon – 9:00pm on Sunday, November 26th, BALLO Italian Restaurant will feature a Beef Tartare appetizer for $24 which consists of hand-cut filet mignon, lemon, garlic, fresh-shaved black truffle and Parmesan-Reggiano crisp. Baked Clams Oreganata ($18) will also be offered as an appetizer and is made with Littleneck clams, lemon, garlic, oregano herb butter and toasted breadcrumbs. For an entrée, guests can enjoy Pappardelle and Confit Duck Ragu served with cremini mushrooms, roasted garlic and gorgonzola brûlée figs for $45.
Michael Jordan’s Steak House is set to be open from 3:00pm – 8:00pm and will offer a special three-course meal for guests to indulge in. Squash Empanadas, consisting of Kabocha squash, goat cheese and cilantro-mint sauce, will be the featured appetizer for $15. For the main course, guests can enjoy a Classic Turkey Dinner for $34 which includes slow-roasted turkey, haricot verts, stuffing, gravy, red bliss mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. For dessert, Apple Crisp will be served with maple bourbon ice cream for $14. Right next door, MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill will be open from Noon to 8:00pm and will also feature the Classic Turkey Dinner for $34. Before the turkey dinner, guests can enjoy Cauliflower Cheddar Soup served with aged cheddar croutons for $12. To finish off a great meal, MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill will offer Pumpkin Chocolate Pie for $14 which is made with milk chocolate ganache and cocoa crust.
Guests can head over to The Lansdowne Irish Pub & Music House to enjoy a special three-course Thanksgiving meal. To start, guests will indulge in Turkey Sliders consisting of house roasted turkey breast, cheddar cheese and horseradish cranberry sauce on a brioche bun for $15. The featured main course will be a Roasted Turkey Dinner served with house roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, sauteed peas, green beans, cauliflower and apple stuffing for $32. To finish, The Lansdowne Irish Pub & Music House will feature a specialty dessert for $12.
Available for a limited time at Frank Pepe’s Napolitano Pizzeria, guests can celebrate Thanksgiving with the hearty Patata Rustica, a brand-new pizza creation that debuts as this fall’s seasonal special at Frank Pepe’s. The Patata Rustica combines the rich flavors of whole-milk mozzarella cheese, seasoned potatoes, savory bacon, asiago cheese, a sprinkle of grated Pecorino Romano and a drizzle of olive oil, all on Frank Pepe’s iconic dough.
From Friday, November 24th through Monday, November 27th, Mohegan Sun will roll out the Black Friday Hotel Flash Sale, which will give guests an opportunity to receive 25% off a one-night stay or 40% off a two-night stay, redeemable through Wednesday, January 31st. Additionally, from Monday, November 27th through Wednesday, December 6th, Mohegan Sun will offer a Cyber Monday Hotel Flash Sale where guests can save up to 40% off when booking a stay in January and February and 50% off for stay dates in March and April. Fans of Asian-inspired dishes can take in the artistry of skilled TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge chefs and gain valuable insights from experts in the field as they craft a delectable selection of bite-sized delights, alongside a carefully curated selection of premium sake. Foodies and fans of James Beard award-winning chef, Todd English can head over to Todd English’s Tuscany to celebrate the finest ingredients and flavors from around the world with a meticulously crafted menu during the Todd English Experience from 7:00pm – 9:30pm. From the first bite to the last, savor the artistry of Todd’s culinary expertise paired with incredible wines. Guests looking to try something new can head to the Sun Patio from 8:00pm – 10:00pm and experience the thrill of sipping favorite cocktails in a truly unique setting during the Sun Patio Ice Bar Experience, hosted by Waypoint Vanilla Vodka, Baileys Chocolate & Patrón Cielo. Those looking to elevate their palate can attend an exclusive pairing session at the Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, where the Barrels of Beam Featuring Laphroaig Tasting will take place from 8:00pm – 9:30pm. From 6:00pm – 9:00pm, whiskey enthusiasts can head to the Earth Ballroom for Beam Suntory Presents: Whiskeys of the World where attendees will partake in a memorable night filled with the finest selection of aged spirits from Japan, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and the United States. Vino enthusiasts looking to secure a sneak peek of the rich flavors, subtle aromas, and exceptional craftsmanship at the Grand Tasting can make their way to the Earth Expo & Convention Center from 7:00pm – 10:00pm for the Grand Tasting Preview. Fans of fine food and vino can embark on a sensory journey through the world of wine at SWFF’s main event, the exquisite Grand Tasting, from Noon – 5:00pm in the Earth Expo & Convention Center. Seasoned oenophiles and curious novices alike will embark on an immersive experience that celebrates the artistry of winemaking all while sampling more than 1,000 varieties of wine, beer, and 
spirits. Grand Tasting attendees can watch live demonstrations take place on The Main Stage & The Coca Cola Stage from legendary culinary experts such as Amanda Freitag, Aarón Sánchez, Marc Murphy, Scott Conant and more! From 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the Earth Ballroom, Salon B, Vintage Cru will give guests an opportunity to step into a world of opulence and timeless taste while engaging in an enchanting evening dedicated to the art of aging and savoring the most delectable wines from all around the world.
