Mohegan Sun Arena also commemorated 15 millionth guest
UNCASVILLE, CT (February 23, 2024) – On Thursday, February 22nd, Mohegan Sun honored Matt Rife as the 41st Walk of Fame inductee, ahead of the second of five consecutive sold-out shows during the ProbleMATTic World Tour at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan, and Kim Baker of the Mohegan Tribal Council, presented the headline comic with the Walk of Fame star.
“Five consecutive sold-out shows at an award-winning venue like Mohegan Sun Arena unquestionably deserves recognition in our Walk of Fame. More than 35,000 people will fill the Arena during this record-breaking run, and we are thrilled to have Matt Rife and his entire team be a part of it,” Cantone said before introducing Rife amongst an outburst of cheers and applause.
Matt Rife accepted the award in front of a large crowd of his most dedicated fans.
“This has been an incredible experience for me and means more than a Hollywood Walk of Fame star,” Matt Rife told the crowd after accepting the award. “Thank you to everyone that has supported me from the beginning. Five sold-out shows at one venue is unbelievable, and I hope everyone attending this run of shows enjoys themselves.”
The Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame has honored artists like Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Luke Combs, Shinedown, Ringo Starr, and other long-time, sell-out acts that are enshrined outside of the Mohegan Sun Box Office forecourt. The Walk of Fame award seeks to recognize individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun Arena as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination. All the inductees into the Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame have their name engraved on a plaque that will be permanently placed at the entrance to Mohegan Sun Arena.
After the Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame ceremony, three guests were honored as the Arena eclipsed another milestone of 15 million total guests in the Arena’s history since first opening in 2001. Tom Cantone and Matt Rife celebrated the momentous occasion with lucky trio prior to the second night of Rife’s run in the 10,000-seat venue.

Simone brings over 16 years of experience across marketing, business operations and full-scale sales within meetings and conventions. She also served as a member of the New York and New England chapters of PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) and served as a member of the Greater New York Chapter of HSMAI (Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International). Previous conventions & sales experience includes operating as the Director of Sales at Saybrook Point Resort & Marina in Old Saybrook, CT, and Director of Sales for Sabo Construction and Coldwell Banker New Homes in Waltham, MA. Prior to her work with Saybrook Point Resort & Marina, Simone had an ascending career at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, CT, most recently serving as Director of Resort Sales from 2019 to 2021. Convention includes special autograph signings with Richard “Rip” Hamilton, Jim Calhoun and Christian Fauria
UNCASVILLE, CT (February 20, 2024) – Mohegan Sun welcomes the return of the East Coast Collections Convention (EC3) on Saturday, February 24th from 10:00am – 6:00pm and Sunday, February 25th from 10:00am – 4:00pm in the Earth Ballroom. In addition to autograph signing sessions with Richard “Rip” Hamilton, Jim Calhoun and Christian Fauria, guests in attendance will be surrounded by sought after sports cards and other high-end collectibles in the sports and anime world. On Saturday, February 24th, Basketball Hall of Famer, former UConn men’s basketball head coach and 3X National Champion, Jim Calhoun, will host an autograph signing session from 10:30am – Noon. UConn legend Richard “Rip” Hamilton will also host an autograph session from 11:00am – Noon. Rip Hamilton had one of the most decorated careers in UConn basketball history, including playing under Calhoun when the men’s team won the National Championship in 1999. He then went on to play professional basketball for 14 years, resulting in a national championship with Detroit and earning three all-star recognitions. These autograph sessions will take place right before a special jersey retirement ceremony for Rip Hamilton at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT. On Sunday, February 25th, former professional football tight end, Christian Fauria, will be in the spotlight with an autograph session from 11:00am – 12:30pm.
Autograph sessions will be available for guests who purchase an autograph ticket. Autograph ticket holders are welcome to bring their own memorabilia to be signed, but in the event guests don’t have memorabilia, EC3 will provide complimentary 8×10 photo options. Additionally, authentication and grading service, SGC, will be at the show collecting card submissions for grading; all standard submissions are $15 and have a 5-10 business day turnaround.

Mohegan Sun is proud to announce that Erin Frostad, who is the Team
Member Communications & Involvement Manager for the resort, has been honored by Ragan as part of their Top Women in Communications Awards, Class of 2024. Frostad’s recognition for this prestigious awards program is alongside other honorees within the Dynamic Doers category. This category is dedicated to women who roll up their sleeves to get things done, and then some!
