The Iconic Group joins the Sun Patio Concert Series lineup for a night of Unforgettable Music and Summer Fun
UNCASVILLE, CT (June 18, 2025) – Get ready to shake things up as legendary group, Village People, bring the ultimate Disco revival to the Sun Patio at Mohegan Sun on Saturday, July 12th, as part of the high-energy Sun Patio Concert Series launched on June 14th with crowd favorite Rock band Buckcherry. TheVillage People are one of the most talented and well-known Disco groups of their era. Their music is part of the international songbook and their debut album, released in 1977, featured the hit singles “San Francisco (You Got Me)” and “In Hollywood (Everybody’s A Star).”
Village People at that time consisted of only Victor Willis and session singers. Eventually, a group was assembled around Willis to perform on American Bandstand. Thus began the creation of Village People.
The guys were soon an international phenomenon with release of the second album titled Macho Man, once again recorded by Victor Willis with use of session singers. Auditions were held for performers to join Victor however prior to the release of the Macho Man album and many answered the call. Village People were finally a bona fide group.
Next was the five-time platinum album Cruisin which featured the blockbuster hit “Y.M.C.A.” After that was the Go West album, and finally Live and Sleazy. Victor Willis then exited the group but not before leaving them with such smash hits as “Y.M.C.A” “Macho Man” “Go West” “In the Navy” “Magic Night” and “Milk Shake.” Village People have sold over 100 million records worldwide!

UNCASVILLE, CT (June 12, 2025) – Get ready to soak up the sounds of summer at the inaugural Backyard Beats, happening Saturday, August 16th on the Sun Patio at Mohegan Sun. From 1:00pm to 11:00pm, this all-day celebration will spotlight an exciting lineup of local bands, bringing high-energy performances and more. Guests can enjoy great music, along with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and an atmosphere that’s perfect for kicking back or dancing the day away.
Tickets are currently available for purchase through Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Guests are encouraged to secure their admission in advance, as pricing will increase on the day of the event.
To complement the music, guests can enjoy popular bites from local food trucks, including Hungry Lion and Philly’s, while taking advantage of $4 beer specials available throughout the event. Whether guests come for the music, the food, or the atmosphere, Backyard Beats promises an unforgettable summer experience.
Guests will be able to reserve a fire pit in advance on UrVenue for up to eight guests. Each set within the reservation will be $10 and include at least a 90-minute reservation and cocktail service. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, feel free to bring your own chairs! Guests are not permitted to bring coolers or outside food/beverages. Mohegan Sun will also open a vibrant tropical themed Tiki Bar Pop-Up in the Sky Tower hotel lobby, offering guests even more ways to enjoy summertime drinks and a great vibe. Additionally, Mohegan Sun’s Sun Patio offers guests a relaxing and sleek outdoor bar open Thursday through Sunday!
The new Crafty Slice eatery expands on the popular concept’s signature offerings — a variety of pizza, craft beer, and other delicious food options on the go. The second location features an expanded menu, additional seating, and exclusive summer specials. Highlighted menu options include pizza by the slice starting at $5, from cheese to vegetarian to pepperoni and combo slices with sausage, bacon and meatball. Other grab-and-go offerings include churro bites, Sabrett’s Hot Dogs and the famous Walking Taco.
Complementing this launch is the introduction of an all-new summertime Tiki Bar, located in Mohegan Sun’s Sky Tower lobby. The Sun Patio Concert Series is an all-new outdoor concert lineup for Hot Summer Fun 2025 at Mohegan Sun. This new and improved outdoor venue can accommodate nearly 5,000 guests for concerts and events, and beginning on Saturday, June 14th, guests can enjoy the Hard-Rock hits of Buckcherry for a show kicking off at 9:00pm. Howie Mandel returns for his 16th season as a judge on NBC’s summer flagship series America’s Got Talent. He has also sat on the judging panel for the franchise spinoffs America’s Got Talent: The Champions, America’s Got Talent: All-Stars, America’s Got Talent: Extreme and America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League.
Mandel is a comedian, television personality, actor, producer and host of the podcast Howie Mandel Does Stuff, which he co-hosts alongside his daughter, Jackelyn Schultz.
Mandel received an Emmy Award nomination for “Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program” for Deal or No Deal and a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Game Show Host” for the syndicated version of the show. Mandel’s 30-year career has encompassed virtually all aspects of the entertainment spectrum, including television, film and stage, and from his work on the Emmy-winning St. Elsewhere, to the international animated children’s series Bobby’s World.

Brad Garrett is an Emmy and SAG Award winning actor, comedian, and writer. He won three Emmys for his role as “Robert Barone” on the iconic television series Everybody Loves Raymond and received an Emmy nomination along with a Screen Actors Guild nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actor” in a Miniseries or Movie for his portrayal of “The Great One” in the telefilm Gleason.
Brad most recently co-starred in the Apple TV Plus series High Desert, and guest starred in the Peacock series Bupkis following Pete Davidson’s life. He starred in FX’s Fargo (Season 2) as well as the Jim Carrey-produced Showtime series I’m Dying Up Here (Season 2). He is also Co-creator/Executive Producer with David E. Kelley on Big Shot (Disney+). In features, Brad appears in Cha Cha Real Smooth (Apple) directed by Cooper Raiff and starring Dakota Johnson as well as Wildflower with Jean Smart and Dash Mihok, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival. He also co-starred opposite Julianne Moore in Gloria Bell (A24) directed by Sebastian Lelio.
