In another potential showstopper, undefeated welterweight Josniel Castro (9-0, 7 KOs), a Boca Raton, Florida, native who’s fought his entire pro career in New England, faces one of his toughest tests to date in a six-round showdown against Quebec native and Boston resident Mitch Louis Charles (6-3-2, 3 KOs).

The competition attracts tens of thousands of entries from over 100 countries, making it one of the largest in the history of film and video. Mohegan Sun won one a Platinum Award for its series Back of House and three Platinum Awards for its new advertising brand campaign called “All in for Mohegan”.
The online TV series, Back of House, won both a Platinum MarCom and a Platinum Viddy. The series takes viewers through the work lives of some of Mohegan’s most talented and engaging Team Members. The episode “A Terrific Time” from the recently launched sixth season featured Mohegan Sun’s Nikki Cabrera and Dana Lambersky. Viewers watch as they help organize a large-scale quirky Comic-Con styled convention, known as Terrificon, held in Mohegan Sun’s Expo Center.
“This team gets a great feeling when Back of House continues to receive industry honors and increases its viewers every year” – said George Galinsky, SVP of Marketing Communications for Mohegan. “A thank you goes out to the MarCom and Viddy Awards, and to our many talented and entertaining Team Members who work diligently to ensure we’re demonstrating what it’s like to work at one of the largest, most exciting hospitality, entertainment and travel destinations in North America.”
New York based, Primal-NY, an award-winning production studio, produces Back of House. This season premiered late last year and featured an all-female cast for the first time. It showcases many one of a kind behind the scenes moments at some of Mohegan Sun’s milestone events and big celebrations.
The new Mohegan Sun ad campaign, with a 30-second commercial as its centerpiece, won Platinum awards in three different categories, capturing the endless fun happening at the resort and bringing Mohegan Sun’s total awards haul to five Platinum Awards last year. The “All in for Mohegan” ad campaign won Platinum Viddy Awards for Web Series, Script Writing and Cinematography.
Created by Advertising agency, TAXI, “All in for Mohegan” currently airs regionally, including spots during major sporting events on network TV. The commercial offers a look at a group of friends’ “night out” as they stop by the fantastic Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook, enjoy dinner at the jaw dropping TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge, take in a sold-out Mohegan Sun Arena show, dance at Avalon nightclub, bowl inside GAME ON, and then hit the hotel for an amazing overnight stay, all while meeting new friends of all ages along the way.
The commercial now has over 13.1 million impressions and 12.9 million video plays online, and the Back of House series has been viewed in more than 16 countries and 600 cities. The series has also proven to be a new recruiting tool for talent to join both Mohegan Sun and Mohegan Sun’s parent company, Mohegan. Back of House has previously won several other awards in its history, which include HSMAI, Telly, Vega and Communicator honors.

Bosse wins $5,000 and will headline a future show at the Wolf Den
A panel of celebrity judges named Nick Bosse from North
Stonington, Connecticut, the Locals Live 2022 Champion after the finals on Wednesday, December 7th at Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den. As part of the grand prize, Bosse won $5,000 and will headline a future show at the Wolf Den. Mad Mesa from Griswold, Connecticut, won $1,000 as runners-up.
Nick Bosse, Mad Mesa, and third-place band Hawkns from Milford, Connecticut, were named finalists after an exciting four week-contest hosted by Mohegan Sun and Hall Communications. Twelve bands were originally selected to perform live in the Wolf Den and competed in groups throughout November. Bosse, Mad Mesa, and Hawkns advanced to the Finals after winning their respective first-round battles.
The crowd was full and jovial on Wednesday night for the finals and guests were encouraged to dance to their favorite bands for crowd participation points. The final decision from the judges was based on musical presentation, stage presence, response from audience, and originality.
Bosse performed alongside his band The Northern Roots and had a large group of fans show up with signs and t-shirts who danced and kept the energy going throughout his set.
“I think every musician who participated in the 2022 Locals Live competition is eager for any opportunity to play at the Wolf Den because it is known as a professional venue within the music industry,” Bosse said. “We were there to showcase our love of Country music, share that passion with a live audience, and continue to promote/build the music community here in Connecticut. Winning was a great bonus and thrill for not only me and The Northern Roots, but especially for our followers THE BOSSE POSSE who have supported us for years. They 100% shared and continue to celebrate alongside us!”
Nick Bosse is an independent Nashville recording artist with 10 years in the music industry. His Country music vocals are backed by a power-house band of musicians from Connecticut and Rhode Island: The Northern Roots. Nick’s songwriting and music stylings are influenced by Country, Southern Rock, and Bluegrass legends, which he projects in every live performance. Since its release in January 2021, his popular single “What Happened to Country” has reached more than 1 million streams globally.
The panel of guest judges were Will Evans, songwriter and frontman for the New England-based Roots-Rock outfit Barefoot Truth; Derrick Williams, Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at Mohegan Sun; Bryan Howard, a nationally acclaimed touring musician; and Cara Brindisi, a Season 22 contestant on The Voice. Evans and Brindisi gave their own performances ahead of the finals competition on Wednesday night. Brindisi will return to Mohegan Sun for The Snow Globe Tour at 8:00pm on Saturday, December 17th, at novelle. Tickets are on sale now.

The Killers are a Las Vegas-based four-piece who formed in 2003, featuring the talents of singer/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, drummer Ronnie Vannucci, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer. The band has received countless accolades for their artistic achievement, including multiple Grammy nominations, American Music Award nominations, MTV Video Music Awards, NME Awards and more.
The Killers released their first album, Hot Fuss, in 2004 to worldwide acclaim. The album contained the singles “Mr. Brightside”, and “Somebody Told Me”, in addition to the anthemic song “All These Things That I’ve Done.” The band toured for two years straight behind Hot Fuss, playing more than 400 shows, and eventually returned to Vegas to begin work on the follow-up album with legendary producers Alan Moulder and Flood. The result, a love letter of sorts to their hometown entitled Sam’s Town, was released in 2006 and spent 42 weeks on the Billboard Top 200.
Some of their other studio albums include Day & Age in 2008, which was released to widespread critical acclaim, and Battle Born in 2012, which saw The Killers expand their world tour into countries they’ve never visited before. After a decade of making music, The Killers released a “Best Of” collection, Direct Hits, which featured two incredible new songs alongside classics from the band’s revered catalogue.
The Killers, who have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, released their chart-topping album Wonderful Wonderful in September 2017. It garnered their first No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart the week of its release in the U.S., as well as topping the charts in the U.K., Mexico, and Australia. The Killers released Imploding The Mirage in 2020, which critics hailed as one of the best records in the band’s already stellar catalog. In 2021, The Killers released their eighth album, Pressure Machine, a quieter, character-driven document of life in small town America inspired by frontman Brandon Flowers’ upbringing in rural Utah.
