Derek Hough is best known for his work on Dancing with the Stars. He holds the record for the most championships won, coming off his fifth win in 2013 with Glee star, Amber Riley. That same year Hough won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography for the 3 dances he created on the show. His other notable achievements include World Under 21 Latin American champion, 2-time Open British champion (Blackpool), 2-time International Open to the World champion and 2-time U.S. Open champion.

Two of the top gaming industry leaders in the world attempt to break GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® titles on April 27th at Mohegan Sun
Mohegan Sun includes three casinos and nearly 6,000 slot machines.
Mohegan Sun and Bally Technologies, Inc. are making history as they attempt to break not one, but two world records on Saturday, April 27th. The two gaming giants will attempt to break the records for the Largest Slot Machine Tournament and Most Slot Machines Running The Same Game Simultaneously.
The tournaments, which will be held in two sessions that morning, will be throughout Mohegan Sun’s three casinos: Casino of the Earth, Casino of the Sky and Casino of the Wind. Prizes will be awarded for the top 200 winners with $100,000 up for grabs in cash and Free Slot Play. The first place winner walks away with $50,000 cash! Guests can register that morning beginning at 7:00am in the Wolf Den. All participants will receive $10.00 in Free Slot Play; must be a Player’s Club member to participate.
Representatives from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS will be on-site to validate the records. Over 5,000 people are estimated to participate in the event.
Breaking ground and records is not new to Mohegan Sun, who currently holds the record for the World’s Largest Wedding Cake set back in February 2004 with a cake measuring 17 feet tall and weighing 15,032 pounds.

Season 11 runners-up, Lacey Schwimmer and Kyle Massey, star in Reality Check event on December 28th
You saw them team up on the dance floor back in 2010, now meet Lacey Schwimmer and Kyle Massey of Dancing With The Stars at Mohegan Sun for a special Reality Check event on Friday, December 28th.
This free night kicks off 7:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre where Lacey & Kyle will be performing a routine and holding a live Q&A segment. Then at 8:00pm in The Shops concourse, “Samba” your way over to grab a spot in line as the duo signs autographs and takes photos with their loyal fans! This is sure to be an event worthy of the coveted Mirrorball Trophy!

Todd English’s Tuscany will host a very special Mother’s Day Brunch from 10:00am – 2:00pm featuring some great options at the Raw Bar with Littleneck Clams, Oysters & Shrimp, an Omelet & Eggs to order station, a Pasta Station with Short Rib Ravioli, Seafood Fettuccini Fra Diavolo and Torchio with Prosciutto, Artichoke, Peas & Alfredo and more.
Carved items will include Rack of Lamb, Prime Rib and Brown Sugar-Glazed Ham. Some hot offerings will include Classic Eggs Benedict, Stuffed French Toast with Vanilla Sauce, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Lobster Cream & Fried Leeks and Sage Brined Chicken, Goat Cheese Spiked Potato with Garlicky Spinach, Hunter Sauce and Breakfast Sausage. A dessert station will also be available with a great selection of gourmet Pastries & Desserts.
This special Mother’s Day Brunch is available for $38.00 per person which includes a complimentary glass of champagne or Mimosa.
For dinner, Tuscany will also have a special four course meal available. Over at Birches Bar & Grill, guests can enjoy a three-course special beginning with Soup Du Jour or Garden Salad with Sweet Herb Vinaigrette or a traditional Caesar Salad. Stuffed Salmon with Crabmeat & Lobster Meat finished with a Chardonnay Dill Cream Sauce served with Asparagus Spears and Rice Pilaf. An Orange Chiffon Bombe with a Grand Marnier Cheesecake center served with an Orange-Vanilla Sauce and Edible Flower completes the meal which is available for $32.00 per person and will be served from 11:00am – 10:00pm.

Giveaway/Countdown Celebration
Mohegan Sun will kick off the night of celebration at 4:00pm as complementary top hats, tiaras and noisemakers are distributed at Mohegan Sun’s coat check & valet locations throughout the property to all guests. At 9:00pm, the giveaways will also be available at Birches Bar & Grill, Leffingwells Martini Bar and Todd English’s Tuscany.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac General Store will run a two hour special on New Year’s Eve from 10:00pm to Midnight as guests will receive 20% off all purchases, excluding clearance and promotional merchandise.
Kids Quest and Cyber Quest will offer can’t-miss events and activities for kids from 10:00am to 3:00am on New Year’s Eve. Kids Quest will feature crafts, games, hats and blowers, balloon drops and prizes periodically throughout the day. Cyber Quest will host a 15,000 ticket giveaway from 2:00pm to 11:00pm with 1,000 tickets being awarded per hour. At Midnight, one lucky winner will take home a grand prize of 5,000 tickets. To enter, children can earn one entry ticket per hour. Kids who are MVP Club Card holders will receive two entry tickets per hour and two bonus tickets will be awarded for daily Quest Bonus challenges. Children must be present to win.
Todd English’s Tuscany will offer a Chef’s Tasting Menu that starts out with Pear and Baby Green Insalata served with Crumbled Maytag Bleu Cheese, Candied Walnuts and White Balsamic Vinaigrette followed by Fennel Rubbed Diver Scallops with Root Vegetable Risotto and Porcini Butter. The third course is made up of a Surf and Turf combination of Petit Filet with Cipollini Demi, Charcoal Roasted Prawn,
Haricot Verts and Silk Potatoes. For dessert, a Mini Fallen Chocolate Cake with Tahitian Vanilla Gelato and a Tuxedo Strawberry. This meal is offered at $55.00 per person and $90.00 per person with wine pairings. Dinner will be served from 4:30pm – 12:00am.

Birches Bar & Grill will serve a three-course meal special for New Year’s Eve that starts with a choice of Soup or Salad followed by Roast Prime Rib with Green Beans Provençal and Roasted Fingerling Potatoes or Baked Stuffed Salmon with Crabmeat Stuffing, Sherry Lobster Cream Sauce, Asparagus Spears and Roasted Garlic Smashed Potatoes. Dessert will be Dolly Sin Chocolate Cake with Strawberries and Vanilla Sauce. This meal is offered at $37.00 from 3:00pm-1:00am.
