Celebrity Mixologist Phil Wills to also craft cocktails at the MoheganSunCasino.com Signature Cocktail Lounge during Sun Whiskey Union
UNCASVILLE, CT (March 19, 2024) – The 8th Annual Sun Whiskey Union at Mohegan Sun is set to take place on Saturday, April 13th, and this event that’s aged perfectly is expanding to include experiences guests won’t want to miss. Spirits & Cigars: Mohegan Sun Select Whiskeys, an exclusive event located in the Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, is being added to the Sun Whiskey Union lineup. Additionally, Celebrity mixologist Phil Willis from TV series Bar Rescue joins Sun Whiskey Union at the MoheganSunCasino.com Signature Cocktail Lounge.
Over at Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, guests can partake in an exclusive pairing session at Spirits & Cigars: Mohegan Sun Select Whiskeys on Saturday, April 13th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. During this experience, guests can savor a carefully curated selection of top-shelf spirits, expertly poured by knowledgeable mixologists. Upon entry, attendees will receive an infused cigar and a whiskey passport, which offers access to any five one oz. pours. Available options include Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Breckenridge Bourbon, Bulleit Bourbon, Colonel EH Taylor Bourbon, Eagle Rare Bourbon, Elijah Craig Bourbon, Great Jones Bourbon, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Litchfield Bourbon, and SoNo 1420 Maritime Whiskey. The luxurious Clay Pipe Cigar Bar provides the perfect setting for guests to unwind, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy the timeless pleasure of a fine cigar and whiskey pairing. At Sun Whiskey Union in the Earth Ballroom, celebrity mixologist Phil Wills will be crafting four signature cocktails served out of specialty glasses at the MoheganSunCasino.com Signature Cocktail Lounge. To receive a drink ticket for one of these cocktails, guests must download the MoheganSunCasino.com app, create an account, and place a $5 bet on any game. The MoheganSunCasino.com Signature Cocktail Lounge will be available throughout the duration of Sun Whiskey Union (8:00pm – 11:00pm).
The 8th Annual Sun Whiskey Union is set to take place on Saturday, April 13th from 8:00pm – 11:00pm in the Earth Ballroom. Throughout the event, guests in attendance will be able to sip on top-shelf whiskey, scotch, bourbon and rye, enjoy live music from Locals Live 2023 finalist, The Rakes, and indulge in delicious bites from Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ and tasty treats from NoRA Cupcake Company. Guests will also get the chance to bid on exciting auction items from the world of sports, entertainment and Pop culture, provided by Ocean State Charity Events with proceeds benefiting the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. The main event, Sun Whiskey Union, takes place from 8:00pm to 11:00pm on Saturday, April 8th in the Earth Ballroom. Guests will be able to listen to live music by Jason Ingriselli & The Miles North , taste topflight whiskey, scotch, bourbon and rye, and sample unique craft cocktails. Sun Whiskey Union will feature various distilleries like Beam Suntory and Penelope Bourbon with experts on hand to answer a variety of questions on their style of whiskey and other libations! Delicious food by Bear’s Smokehouse and delectable treats by NoRA Cupcake Company also join the mix!
Sun Whiskey Union will also feature exciting silent auction items from the world of sports, entertainment, and pop culture provided by Ocean State Charity Events. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit United Way.
Tickets for Sun Whiskey Union are $70 and on sale now through Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. A portion of ticket proceeds from Saturday’s Sun Whiskey Union will go to support the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. Guests must be 21 years of age of older to attend all Sun Whiskey Union Weekend events. Valid ID and ticket are required upon entry at all event doors.
