The Connecticut Authors Trail Returns Once Again To Mohegan Sun With Best-Selling Author Jane Green

Connecticut libraries will host a variety of local authors throughout summer with the finale to take place in The Cabaret Theatre on September 22nd

Mohegan Sun is excited to announce that The Connecticut Authors Trail, which consists of a consortium of libraries in eastern Connecticut in addition to featuring some of the most prominent and talented authors who either live in or are associated with the Nutmeg State, will return for Its third straight year to Mohegan Sun.  The event is set to take place in The Cabaret Theatre on Thursday, September 22nd, showcasing the incredible author, Jane Green.  Other library signing dates will feature authors like Todd Gipstein, Jan Kardys, Janice Law, Tommy Coletti, Christine Whitehead, Rosemary Harris and David Howard.
British import Jane Green is the author of twelve best-selling novels, dealing with real women, real life, and all the things life throws at them, with her trademark wisdom, wit and warmth.  Her first novel was a huge success in England and it would pave the way for a remarkable career in writing.  From The Other Woman to Second Chance to the incredibly popular The Beach House, Jane has become synonymous with complex, character driven story telling that explores the concerns of real women’s lives.  As well as writing a regular on JaneGreen.com, she contributes to various publications, both online and print, including Huffington Post, The Sunday Times and Self.
Her latest novel, Promises to Keep, was released earlier this year to critical and public acclaim.  The book follows the happily married and much adored friend and relative Callie Perry through quite the journey as her life takes a huge turn when she receives a difficult diagnoses.  The Chicago Tribune praised the latest book with “In Promises to Keep, Green weaves a profoundly moving tale that will enthrall both new and old fans.”

The Connecticut Authors Trail Returns To Mohegan Sun

Connecticut libraries will host a variety of local authors starting July 8th and capping off the tour at Mohegan Sun on September 23rd with Donald Bain

UNCASVILLE, CT (June 17, 2010) – Mohegan Sun has once again teamed up with the Connecticut Authors Trail and is set to cap off the great book signing tour on Thursday, September 23rd with acclaimed author of Murder, She Wrote, Donald Bain.  The Connecticut Authors Trail kicks-off with popular author Jane Haddam. Other library signing dates will feature remarkable authors like Pam Lewis, Douglas Clegg, Denise Gadreau, Susan Campbell, Christine Whitehead, Suzy Graf, Mark O’Neill and M. William Phelps.

Donald Bain’s book discussion will take place at 7:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre followed by a book signing.  Bain is the author/ ghost author of more than 100 books, many of which are best-sellers.  His prolific career began when Bain worked as a writer/director for Peckham Productions where he created films for clients like Avon, American Airlines, Pan Am and IBM.    His work includes both fiction and non-fiction including the popular series Murder,  She Wrote, which consists of 33 original novels.  His airline comedy book, Coffee Tea or Me?, was published nearly thirty years ago and together with its sequels has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.  Bain also wrote and hosted the nationally-syndicated series The Media Watch. Bain’s appearance and signing at Mohegan Sun will be the final stop for the Connecticut Author’s Trail.

The Connecticut Authors Trail Makes Mohegan Sun Its Final Destination This Summer

Authors Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough will be in The Cabaret Theatre on September 24th for a special edition of Mohegan Sun’s “Winning Authors”
Mohegan Sun will be hosting a very special “Winning Authors” event on Thursday, September 24th.  The event is part of the Connecticut Authors Trail featuring great authors like Karen E. Olson, Janice Law, Rosemary Harris and Daniel Waters who will be appearing at eastern Connecticut libraries all summer long.   The authors of the popular book Cooking Know-How, Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough make their way to The Cabaret Theatre at Mohegan Sun for their share of the trail and to discuss their new book on Thursday, September 24th at 7:00pm followed by a signing also taking place in The Cabaret Theatre.
Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough make up one of the most hard working and successful food writing duos in the world.  Bruce Weinstein is a graduate of Johnson & Wales and in 1997, released his first official book entitled Frozen Drinks With Or Without The Buzz.  In 1999, Bruce and Mark, whom at this point both called New York City home, joined powers to release The Ultimate Ice Cream Book which went on to sell 300,000 copies.  From there the rest is cook book history with popular titles like The Ultimate Party Drink Book (2000), The Ultimate Candy Book (2000), The Ultimate Shrimp Book (2002), The Ultimate Brownie Book (2002), The Ultimate Potato Book (2003), The Ultimate Muffin Book (2004), The Ultimate Chocolate Cookie Book (2004) and The Ultimate Frozen Dessert Book (2005).

Their most recent cooking guide entitled Cooking Know-How is full of easy techniques,  step by step photos and ideas for over 500 meals and is sure to help all those in need of some tips and tricks behind the stove.  Cooking Know-How is in stores now and will be available at Spin Street located in The Shops concourse at Mohegan Sun leading up to and on the day of this event.
