Taking place in Mohegan Sun next month, December 15th -19th, 51 candidates will compete for the job of Miss America 2020; A special tribute show with current Miss America, Nia Franklin, is also scheduled
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 5, 2019) – Mohegan Sun will become only the third destination to host Miss America in its 99-year history next month and tickets are now on-sale at Missamerica.org/tickets and on-site at the Mohegan Sun Box Office.
The finals will be broadcast on NBC live from Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 8:00pm EST.
Leading up to the finals and taking place in Mohegan Sun’s Earth Expo & Convention Center, Miss America 2020 will also feature two preliminary competitions as well as a special Tribute Show in Mohegan Sun’s Cabaret Theatre, where the Miss America Organization (MAO) will say thank you to Nia Franklin (Miss America 2019) for a successful year. Guests will be able to enjoy music that Franklin has composed during the past year and join other Miss America’s as they entertain and share where their lives have led over the past year. All Tribute Show ticket holders will get priority access to a Miss America autograph line prior to the show. Tickets to this Miss America Tribute Show can also be purchased via: Ticketmaster

NBC’s The 2020 Miss America Competition will follow 51 compelling candidates as they compete for life-changing scholarships to be used to continue their efforts towards community service and education. The show will highlight a diverse group of young students and professionals who are advancing the message of female strength, independence, and empowerment through their efforts in the areas of scholarship, talent and social impact. The candidates’ official arrival ceremony will be on December 12th at 5:00pm at Mohegan Sun and will be free and open to the public. Other events throughout the week can be found at Missamerica.org. It will be an exciting week of competition, special events and community engagement, all capped off with an incredible final event on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 8:00pm on NBC. At the end of the telecast, one candidate will be chosen for the job of Miss America 2020 to build upon the work of Miss America 2019, Nia Franklin. As Miss America 2019, Franklin has been promoting her social impact initiative, “Advocating for the Arts” through appearances at colleges and universities, city operas and other art venues and has taken part in other various impactful events, including visits to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

5th annual event benefiting veterans and active duty military
to take place in the Earth Expo & Convention Center
UNCASVILLE, CT (September 23, 2019) – Vets Rock, a free event where Mohegan Sun and the community come together to celebrate active duty military and veterans with a day of valuable programs and resources, returns Friday, November 1st. Special services featured in the Earth Expo & Convention Center include a career fair presented by Hiring Our Heroes, over 50 veteran service organizations and Save-A-Suit presented by Bozzuto’s.
Opening Ceremony
Vets Rock 2019 will begin with an opening ceremony hosted by Gil Simmons of WTNH in The Shops concourse at 10:00am. The opening ceremony includes a salute to veterans and active duty military personnel during the National Anthem and a performance by the Voices of the Sun choir.
Vets Rock Expo
From 10:00am – 6:00pm, guests are invited to partake in the free Vets Rock Expo in the Earth Expo & Convention Center. The expo features over 50 veteran services organizations and a career fair presented by Hiring Our Heroes. Save-A-Suit, presented by Bozzuto’s, will also be on-hand, outfitting up to 150 veterans with professional attire. Pre-registration is required to participate in Save-A-Suit.

Two-day event offering over 150 local drafts and restaurant offerings takes place October 4th & 5th
UNCASVILLE, CT (July 19, 2019) – Calling all beer lovers! Mohegan Sun’s Sun BrewFest is back with a two-day event featuring some of the best beer, food, and live entertainment in New England. Tickets are on sale now via ticketmaster.com and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. A portion of all ticket sales will go to the Channel 3 Kids Camp. All guests must be 21 or older to attend all events. Valid ID and tickets are required upon entry to all events.
A Taste of New England
At a Taste of New England on Friday, October 4th, guests can sample and sip their way through the Earth Ballroom with some of New England’s best local drafts, restaurant offerings, and live entertainment from 8:00pm – 10:00pm.
Tickets for A Taste of New England are $50.00 and one ticket is valid for admission and all food and beverages.
Sun BrewFest
Saturday, October 5th is the main event. The Earth Expo and Convention Center will be transformed into a brew lover’s paradise where guests can try over 150 beers, including craft brews, microbrews, imports, domestics and ciders, all while enjoying rockin’ live entertainment, fun games, an epic cornhole tournament and delicious signature food from local restaurants. Tickets for Sun Brewfest are $50.00 for the VIP hour and Grand Tasting, and $30.00 for the Grand Tasting only. All food items must be paid for with Mohegan Sun food tickets (worth $1.00 each) that can be purchased at any cashier.
Cornhole Tournament
Teams of two can let the beanbags fly at the cornhole tournament held during Sun BrewFest. First prize winners receive two $100.00 Mohegan Sun gift cards, and second place winners receive two $50.00 Mohegan Sun gift cards. WHAT: The American Cornhole League National Championships (ACL) will host its fourth national installment of the 2019 Johnsonville Cornhole Championships and the 2019 ACL Pro Invitational at Mohegan Sun!
Players range in ages of 15-70; a maximum of 384 ACL Pro/Advanced: 128 Competitive, 128 Social and 64 Junior players for a total of 704 players.
