World renowned vocal group Il Divo are making a trip to Connecticut for a very special performance in Mohegan Sun Arena on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:30pm.

Since coming together in 2004, four of the greatest voices in the world, David Miller, Carlos Marín, Urs Buhler and Sébastien Izambard have spearheaded an entire musical genre by bringing the sound of Opera to the world of popular music. With over twenty-two million albums sold to date, Il Divo continues to confirm performances around the world as part of their massive touring plans for 2009 in support of their fifth album The Promise which is approaching platinum status in the U.S. The new show will be staged and choreographed by William Baker (Kylie Minogue, Jamiroquai) on a state-of-the-art set, with tour wardrobes designed by Giorgio Armani, featuring outfits from Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani and Armani Collezioni collections.
The show will feature repertoire from their five albums and several new songs, with Il Divo on stage the entire evening. They will perform for approximately ninety minutes with a twenty minute intermission integrated into the set (there will be no support).

Fall Out Boy has announced the dates for the ‘Believers Never Die Part Deux’ tour, the band’s 2009 headline arena tour, and they will be stopping at Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, April 29th at 6:30pm. Supporting Fall Out Boy will be Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Metro Station and Hey Monday.

The Killers have announced a second leg of dates for their current tour in support of the band’s latest opus, Day & Age, which surfaced last fall. The Killers will perform live at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, May 9th at 8:00pm.

The Las Vegas-based group worked with Scottish electronic-music whiz Stuart Price (Madonna, Missy Elliot) on Day & Age, its third album and follow-up to 2006’s Sam’s Town (the band released Sawdust, a collection of studio outtakes and b-sides last year). Released in September, the album peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart, and has sold almost a half-million copies in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Worldwide, the set has sold 1.6 million copies.

Country music’s most popular touring act is on the road again in 2009 and is stopping at Mohegan Sun Arena for two performances. Kenny Chesney and special guests Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum will take the Arena stage on Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th. Both shows begin at 8:00pm.

Kenny Chesney is touring in support of his latest studio effort, 2008’s Lucky Old Sun, which saw its first single “Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven” become a #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot Country music chart. According to Billboard and Pollstar magazine, over the last three years, no one in the music industry has sold more concert tickets in America than the 40-year-old singer. Chesney teamed up with Mac McAnally on the track “Down The Road,” currently ranked #9 on the USA Today Mediabase Country singles chart.
Miranda Lambert exploded on to the Country music scene with her 2005 album Kerosene. The album was certified platinum and produced four Top 40 hits on Billboards Hot Country Songs chart. Her follow-up effort, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, won ACM’s “Album of the Year” for 2008.
Lady Antebellum, who won the 2008 CMA Horizon Award and the 2008 ACM “Best New Duo/Group” award, and who performed in the Wolf Den in October, will kick off both shows. Comprised of lead singer Charles Kelley, vocalist/guitarist/mandolinist Dave Haywood and lead singer Hillary Scott, the trio also earned a Grammy nomination for “Best New Artist.”
