The day to show Dad appreciation is near and what better way to say “thank you’’ than with a gourmet meal or a gift he will remember at Mohegan Sun? A variety of specials will be featured throughout the property on June 20th including:
Todd English’s Tuscany will celebrate Father’s Day with their delicious chef’s tasting. Diners will begin with a Caprese Salad tossed with Heirloom Tomatoes, Fresh Basil and Burrata Cheese. The second course will consist of Veal Ravioli with Thyme Mushroom Cream. Next, Petit Filet with Seared Foie Gras and Horseradish Silk Potatoes. Topping off the meal will be a Strawberry Rhubarb Napoleon dish with Cardamom Cream for dessert. The special is offered at $50.00 per person from 4:00pm to 10:00pm and will be offered at $85.00 per person with wine pairings.
Birches Bar & Grill will prepare a three-course meal beginning with a choice of Soup or House Salad and then a Roast Prime Rib of Beef served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus Spears and Horseradish Cream. For dessert, a seven layered Caramel Mousse Bomb with Chocolate covered pretzel pieces will be prepared. The meal will be offered at $24.95 per person from noon until midnight.
Michael Jordan’s Steak House will serve dinner from 5:00pm to 11:00pm and guests can feast on a King Cut 20-ounce Prime Rib Steak served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Rosemary Demi Glace and a Sundried Tomatoes and Mushroom Skewer for $35.00 per person. Treat Mom to dining, shopping and spa specials this Mother’s Day at Mohegan Sun
May 9th is almost here and Mohegan Sun plans on making Mother’s Day a memorable one with gourmet dining, Elemis Spa specials and exclusive discounts at Mom’s favorite Mohegan Sun shops.
DINING OFFERINGS
Todd English’s Tuscany will prepare a three-course meal starting with Lobster Fegatini in Fennel Brown Butter. It’s followed by Pastrami-Rubbed Duck served over Porcini Dusted Potatoes and Roasted Cipollini Onions and then a Petit Rack of Lamb served with Spring Pea and Mint Risotto with Lamb Jus. Concluding the meal will be a signature Fallen Chocolate Cake. The special will be offered at $47.00 per person or $82.00 per person with wine pairings from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.
Birches Bar & Grill will offer a three-course meal starting with a choice of Soup Du Jour or a Garden Salad followed by Baked Seafood Stuffed Shrimp with Lemon Beurre Blanc Sauce served with Asparagus Spears and Wild Rice Pilaf. Lastly, a Raspberry Panna Cotta on a Cookie base with fresh Berries and Raspberry Coulis will be served for dessert. The meal will be offered at $25.95 per person from 10:00am to 3:30am.
At Big Bubba’s BBQ, a special dinner consisting of Prime Rib with a Twice Baked Potato plus an additional side will be prepared for $22.95 per person from 11:30am to 10:00pm.
Sunburst Buffet will offer a special brunch menu featuring items such as Creamy Gorgonzola Pasta Primavera, Pepperoni Frittata and Mussels with Lemon Grass Broth from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Dinner will be prepared from 2:00pm to 9:00pm and will feature an array of specialties including Gemelli with Bolognaise& Fresh Mozzarella, Tuscan Chicken with Broccoli & Penne and Swordfish with Tomato Vinaigrette. Both meals will be offered at $19.81 per person and $10.37 for children between the ages of six and twelve.
Special hours will be available at Bar Americain with dinner service from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, and Pompeii & Caesar will offer a special brunch menu from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Free Entertainment and Mid-Day Performances
Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den lineup will be jam-packed with timeless acts including two special performances on select Mondays at 12:00pm to 12:45pm and 1:15pm to 2:00pm.
On January 4th, The Glamour Girls will play a wide selection of 50s through 70s hits. Additionally, Dietician and Lifestyle Expert, Mary Ann Nash, will be speaking on ways to achieve a healthy lifestyle following The Glamour Girls’ performance at 2:30pm.
Phil Dirt & The Dozers will pay homage to the 50s and 60s Rock and Roll era on January 11th. The Daddio’s will take the stage to play various 40s through 70s hits on January 18th. Rick K. and The Allnighters will perform their renditions of the 50s through the 70s on February 1st. Continuing the 50s and 70s sound will be The Main Street Cruisers on February 8th.

Dining Specials-New Year’s Eve
Sunburst Buffet will serve a wide range of meals including a Steak Giambotta or Shrimp & Pesto Fettuccine. Seasons Buffet will feature Roasted Turkey Breast, a Slow-Roasted Garlic & Shallot Crusted Prime Rib as well as an Herb-Roasted Pork Loin. Desserts selections include Hot Caramel Apples, Bread Pudding and Fruit Cobbler. Sunburst Buffet will be open from 11:00am – 12:00am and Seasons Buffet will be serving breakfast from 7:30am – 11:00am followed by lunch and dinner selections through 12:00am.

Chef Showdown, a Grape Stomp competition and the 7th Annual Mohegan Sun Oyster Open take place during the weekend’s Grand Tasting
A culinary face-off, mashed grapes and oyster shucking will highlight a competition-filled weekend during SUN WINEFEST 2010. A variety of events will take place on Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st including the 6th Annual Chef Showdown, 7th Annual Mohegan Sun Oyster Open and the first-ever Grape Stomp competition.
Sponsored by Hatfield® the 6th Annual Chef Showdown kicks off Saturday, January 30th at 1:45pm on the main stage in the Uncas Ballroom during the Grand Tasting. Chefs who submit the most creative, unique and inspiring recipe utilizing Hatfield® Flat Iron Pork Sirloin and Quick Ribs will be chosen as finalists to prepare their dishes for a chance to take home $4,000, an exclusive VIP stay at Mohegan Sun, a custom Championship Chef’s Coat and a feature in an upcoming issue of Hartford Magazine. Following the 6th Annual Chef Showdown, Sun WineFest’s first-ever Grape Stomp sponsored by [yellow tail] ® begins at 4:15pm, January 30th, on the main stage. Teams will kick off their shoes and have three minutes to channel their inner Lucille Ball and stomp out as much grape juice as they can. Finally SUN WINEFEST 2010 concludes the action during the 7th Annual Mohegan Sun Oyster Open sponsored by Bud Light. Elite shuckers from the best restaurants, raw bars and shellfish and seafood companies on the Eastern Seaboard will compete to take down last year’s champion William “Chopper” Young of Wellfleet, MA at 4:15pm in the Uncas Ballroom on January 31st.
