Grammy winner will perform in the Arena on April 17th
Latin Pop superstar Ricky Martin is hitting the road this spring in support of his latest studio effort Música + Alma + Sexo, which hits store shelves today. The singer will be performing live at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, April 17th at 7:00pm.

Following last year’s triumphant debut, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is returning to the stage this spring with “Beethoven’s Last Night.” The band is taking the show to Europe for the first time and then back to the U.S. for a limited 8 week tour. The performance will take place live in Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, April 10th at 7:00pm.

TSO founder Paul O’Neill has been working on a concept he likes to call “Rock Theater.” The material for “Rock Theater” began when Paul O’Neill and TSO set their sights on one of the most beloved and important composers the world has ever seen, Ludwig van Beethoven.
TSO creator / writer / producer Paul O’Neill explains, “I was always fascinated by Beethoven. Beethoven did not come from a rich family, made his way to Vienna which, at that time was the capitol of the musical world, and by the time he was 21, was recognized as one of the greatest piano players in the world by the likes of Mozart. By the time he was 25, he realized he was going completely deaf and if he had just crawled into a corner and given up on life, nobody would have judged him harshly. But instead he went on to write some of the greatest music that has ever been created, music that would bring joy, happiness, peace to countless billions of people but, that he himself would never hear.”

Pop superstar Katy Perry has officially announced dates for her upcoming California Dreams World Tour, in support of her platinum-selling sophomore album Teenage Dream. Katy will kick off the California Dreams tour on February 20th in Lisbon, Portugal, traveling throughout Europe, the U.K., Australia and Japan before hitting Canada and the U.S. The North American leg of the tour sponsored by Schick® Quattro for Women® will start on June 7th in Atlanta, GA and will run through August 14th with two shows in Katy’s hometown Santa Barbara, CA. The tour is making its way to Connecticut for one night only in Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, June 25th at 7:30pm with special guest Mariana & The Diamonds.

Katy is planning on interacting with fans through social media networks throughout the California Dreams tour. Using Facebook Places/Deals, fans will be able to check in to the venues each night to receive special treats. As announced last week, Katy will perform at this year’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 13th. Six-time nominee, Katy is up for four awards this year including the coveted “Album of the Year,” along with “Best Pop Album,” “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” for “Teenage Dream” and “Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals” for “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg. Teenage Dream was released in August 2010 and has since sold 5 million copies worldwide. After “California Gurls” spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Katy scored two follow-up #1’s with “Teenage Dream” and her current single “Firework,” making her the first female artist in 11 years to score three Billboard #1 singles from the same album.

The Heart & Soul 2011 North American Tour stops in Uncasville on March 27th
Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks have joined forces for one of the most anticipated musical events of the year, The Heart & Soul Tour. Elton John and his band will appear in concert at Mohegan Sun Arena performing their “Greatest Hits Live” concert, featuring number one chart hits and classic album tracks from throughout Elton’s incredible five-decade career.

Elton John’s band includes Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards.
