Get tips, tricks and decorative advice from Mar during his live Q&A and stick around afterwards for an exclusive book signing event.
Mar is a home and garden expert and has been featured on HGTV, the Today Show, QVC, and in The New York Times. Over time, Mar has expanded his areas of expertise and has even adapted his signature style, “Casual Luxury”, to the wedding industry. Based in Westport, Connecticut, Mar is an ongoing contributor to ABC’s WTNH, NBC’s WVIT and FOX’s WTIC.

The Connecticut Authors Trail focuses on some of the state’s most brilliant authors and takes pride in bringing together a diverse collection of writers whose styles cover everything from suspense thrillers to romantic novels and self-help to local libraries across eastern Connecticut. All programs are free and open to the public. Passports will be available at the participating libraries throughout the summer as a guide to the author events.

Mohegan Sun Golf Club hosts the first annual Til Duty is Done Golf Classic on Saturday, September 27th. Come show your support and help bring awareness to Til Duty is Done; an organization helping to restore and improve the lives of veterans.

Enjoy a day of fun and golf for a cause at the Til Duty is Done Golf Classic on Saturday, September 27th. The tournament is a shotgun start, 4-man scramble and begins at 11:00am at Mohegan Sun Golf Club. The price per ticket is $250.00 and includes a golf cart and breakfast & lunch at the course. A dinner ceremony and auction inside Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom is also included in the price.
Registration will be held between 8:00am and 9:00am at Mohegan Sun’s group check-in lobby. Transportation from Mohegan Sun to Mohegan Sun Golf Club is available by shuttle at 8:30am, 9:00am and 9:30am. Returning shuttles will begin at the conclusion of the tournament. All participants are eligible for a hotel discount.

Fan favorite dancer and Emmy-Award winning entertainer, Derek Hough swings by The Shops at Mohegan Sun for a special Reality Check event. Get up-close-and-personal with the Dancing with the Stars pro when he signs copies of his debut book and life story, Take The Lead: Lessons from a Life in Motion.
Derek Hough is best known for his work on Dancing with the Stars. He holds the record for the most championships won, coming off his fifth win in 2013 with Glee star, Amber Riley. That same year Hough won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography for the 3 dances he created on the show. His other notable achievements include World Under 21 Latin American champion, 2-time Open British champion (Blackpool), 2-time International Open to the World champion and 2-time U.S. Open champion.
