UNCASVILLE, CT (March 6, 2024) –– Grammy-winning Rock band Greta Van Fleet announced today that they are coming to Mohegan Sun Arena with special guest The Beaches for a 7:30pm show on Friday, August 2nd.
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 8th at 10:00am via Ticketmaster.com. Subject to availability, Progressive Rock fans can purchase tickets at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting on Saturday, March 9th.
The band is best known for their renowned live performances, selling over one million tickets worldwide. They sold out their entire 2022 arena tour, holding a special energy between them and their devoted fans.
Formed in Frankenmuth, Michigan in 2012, Greta Van Fleet consists of three brothers—vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka and bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka—as well as drummer Danny Wagner. Together they have performed across multiple continents, sold over 3.5 million records and one million tickets worldwide and performed on late night television shows such as Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Shane Gillis is a stand-up comic, actor, and writer from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. After winning Philly’s Funniest at Helium Comedy Club in 2016 Shane was named an “Up-Next” Comic at Comedy Central’s 2019 Clusterfest in San Francisco and a “New Face” at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. In 2021, Gillis released his debut comedy special Shane Gillis: Live in Austin on YouTube which has been viewed over 14 million times. Gillis is one-half of Patreon and Apple’s top 10 podcasts Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast. He’s a regular guest on Sirius XM’s The Bonfire, Spotify’s The Joe Rogan Experience, and Barstool Sports’ KFC Radio.
Shane was a writer on Comedy Central’s Delco Proper and co-created, wrote, and starred in the YouTube hit sketch series Gilly & Keeves. In October of 2022, Shane and John McKeever partnered with Booklight Entertainment and Outback Presents to produce and release Gilly & Keeves: The Special on GillyandKeeves.tv. UNCASVILLE, CT (February 9, 2024) – Mohegan Sun Arena was named “Best Casino/Resort Venue of the Year” at the 35th Annual Pollstar Awards on Wednesday, February 7th in Los Angeles, CA. The Pollstar Awards recognize and support the live entertainment business’ most innovative companies, venues, artists, tours and executives. “Best Casino/Resort Venue of the Year” is an inaugural category for the award ceremony, making Mohegan Sun Arena the first to receive the prestigious recognition.
“With over 1,200 casinos in the US, to be singled out as the best by Pollstar is a tribute to the men and women who run our entertainment venues,” said Tom Cantone, President of Sports & Entertainment for Mohegan. “When you put people first, great things happen. Two Performances on Sunday, November 26th
UNCASVILLE, CT (August 28, 2023) –Trans-Siberian Orchestra the heavy metal, classical music, theatre production, pyrotechnics and laser lightshow hybrid will return to Mohegan Sun Arena this winter.
“The Ghosts of Christmas Eve the Best of TSO & More,” will hit the stage for two awe-inspiring musical shows on Sunday, November 26th at 3:00pm and 8:00pm.
Tickets for the 2023 holiday tour are $109.75, $99.75, $89.75, $79.75, $69.75, $49.75, and $39.00 and go on sale Friday, September 15th at 10:00am via ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, September 16th, subject to availability.
Limited $39.00 tickets will be available for purchase for the first week, or while supplies last.
Although TSO is best known for their Capra-esque trilogy of holiday records – Christmas Eve & Other Stories, The Christmas Attic, and The Lost Christmas Eve – they have also released several other rock operas. Beethoven’s Last Night (2000) was the first of these non-holiday rock operas and tells a compelling tale of a battle for Beethoven’s soul between good and evil. It features instrumental crossovers between classical composers and contemporary rock, along with original vocal tracks featuring Patti Russo (Meatloaf) as the character Teresa, Beethoven’s love. Later albums take on great themes such as war and redemption, namely Night Castle (2009). Night Castle was TSO’s first Top 5 album debut and included a bonus track featuring Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake & Palmer, King Crimson), who was one of TSO’s greatest influences. Letters From The Labyrinth (2015) was another Top 10 release for TSO. In total, TSO has sold in excess of 12 million albums and DVDs.
Consistently one of the Top 25 touring acts in the country, TSO shows no signs of slowing down. Since its touring debut in 1999, TSO has played over 2,000 Winter Tour shows for more than 18 million fans. So far TSO has also donated over $18 million from these tours to local charities.
At the time of his passing, Paul O’Neill had several TSO projects in various stages of completion at his recording studio in Florida. He also had two finalized rock operas: Romanov: When Kings Must Whisper, about the 1917 Russian Revolution, along with a live concert adaptation of Night Castle. O’Neill also planned to eventually bring the TSO experience to Broadway. Nearly 25 years after the release of their first album, Trans-Siberian Orchestra continues to create and live on.

Mohegan Sun Arena continues to build on a decade of excellence as one of the top venues across the globe
For the first time ever, Mohegan Sun Arena has earned the prestigious honor of No. 1 Indoor Arena in the world for its size (5,001 – 10,000-seat capacity) based on ticket sales. National industry trade publications, Pollstar and VenuesNow, announced the rankings in their 2021 Year End Special issues, which report the top-selling tours and top venues across the globe. Additionally, Mohegan Sun Arena finished the year ranked as the No. 10 venue overall in the U.S. and the No. 11 spot in the world regardless of size.
Pollstar also released its year-end Top 100 Tours chart by worldwide ticket sales. In 2021, Mohegan Sun Arena hosted two tours in the top five (No. 1 Harry Styles, No. 4 Dave Matthews Band) and three additional tours in the top 30 (No. 23 Dan + Shay, No. 27 Machine Gun Kelly, No. 30 Sebastian Maniscalco). International superstar Harry Styles made his solo debut at Mohegan Sun Arena for two sold-out shows in October as part of Mohegan Sun’s 25th Anniversary celebration.
With one of the most successful years in its history, Mohegan Sun Arena drew more than 450,000 people in 2021, making it the top casino venue in the world.

Mohegan Sun Arena stayed open during the pandemic with a historic Viacom Residency broadcasting live, nationally televised, Showtime sports programming that earned an Innovator of the Year Award from CelebrityAccess. At one time, it was one of the only venues in America open. Later, it reopened to live fans over the summer for events with limited capacity like Connecticut Sun games, private concerts and a Bellator event. Mohegan Sun Arena put on its first live public concert on July 18th with Air Supply and its first concert at full capacity on July 29th with Lady A.
Since reopening, Mohegan Sun Arena has put on more than 50 concerts and 37 sporting events, including award-winning acts like Toby Keith, Harry Styles, Blake Shelton, The Doobie Brothers, The Monkees Farewell Tour, Machine Gun Kelly, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Arena also hosted WNBA playoff games, comedians like Sebastian Maniscalco and Tom Segura, college basketball tournaments, and the 100th Anniversary of Miss America.
