Mohegan Sun Arena continues to build on a decade of excellence as one of the top venues across the globe
For the first time ever, Mohegan Sun Arena has earned the prestigious honor of No. 1 Indoor Arena in the world for its size (5,001 – 10,000-seat capacity) based on ticket sales. National industry trade publications, Pollstar and VenuesNow, announced the rankings in their 2021 Year End Special issues, which report the top-selling tours and top venues across the globe. Additionally, Mohegan Sun Arena finished the year ranked as the No. 10 venue overall in the U.S. and the No. 11 spot in the world regardless of size.
Pollstar also released its year-end Top 100 Tours chart by worldwide ticket sales. In 2021, Mohegan Sun Arena hosted two tours in the top five (No. 1 Harry Styles, No. 4 Dave Matthews Band) and three additional tours in the top 30 (No. 23 Dan + Shay, No. 27 Machine Gun Kelly, No. 30 Sebastian Maniscalco). International superstar Harry Styles made his solo debut at Mohegan Sun Arena for two sold-out shows in October as part of Mohegan Sun’s 25th Anniversary celebration.
With one of the most successful years in its history, Mohegan Sun Arena drew more than 450,000 people in 2021, making it the top casino venue in the world.

Mohegan Sun Arena stayed open during the pandemic with a historic Viacom Residency broadcasting live, nationally televised, Showtime sports programming that earned an Innovator of the Year Award from CelebrityAccess. At one time, it was one of the only venues in America open. Later, it reopened to live fans over the summer for events with limited capacity like Connecticut Sun games, private concerts and a Bellator event. Mohegan Sun Arena put on its first live public concert on July 18th with Air Supply and its first concert at full capacity on July 29th with Lady A.
Since reopening, Mohegan Sun Arena has put on more than 50 concerts and 37 sporting events, including award-winning acts like Toby Keith, Harry Styles, Blake Shelton, The Doobie Brothers, The Monkees Farewell Tour, Machine Gun Kelly, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Arena also hosted WNBA playoff games, comedians like Sebastian Maniscalco and Tom Segura, college basketball tournaments, and the 100th Anniversary of Miss America.
The 2022 calendar already features major, chart-topping artists scheduled to perform at Mohegan Sun Arena, including Earth, Wind & Fire, Tame Impala, Lorde, Justin Bieber, New Kids on the Block featuring En Vogue, Rick Astley, and Salt-N-Pepa, Shawn Mendes, Rod Stewart, and Keith Urban. Ranking amongst top concert venues in the world with major U.S. tours, sellouts and national awards
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 11, 2017) – Mohegan Sun Arena recorded yet another successful year of A-list national tours and national awards in 2017. Two major awards were “Prime Site” and “Casino of the Year,” bringing the total to 15 national awards for the Arena over nine years. Named in Connecticut Magazine as “Best of Connecticut 2017” for large entertainment venue, Mohegan Sun Arena continues to be one of the busiest venues in the world, and surpassed 11 million guests this year as well.
“I am blessed to have so many talented people who help put our entertainment brand on the world stage – they are the reason we have a world-class venue sitting right in our backyard,” said Tom Cantone, Sr. VP of Sports and Entertainment.
Along with recognitions, 2017 brought in multiple Grammy winners, Billboard chart toppers and Top Hot 100 artists with a record of 39 sellouts, as well as two major sport franchises, CT Sun and Black Wolves Lacrosse who both made the playoffs, filling in some of 165 dates drawing some 800,000 fans.
Among the celebrated artists and bands in 2017, one of the hottest tours includes Lady Gaga’s, “Joanne World Tour” which hit
Mohegan Sun Arena with two sold-out shows. The Arena also hosted other highly touted tours that sold-out within minutes including Ed Sheeran, Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond, Depeche Mode, Journey, Pentatonix, Backstreet Boys and Ariana Grande.

At nearly half-a-million tickets sold for 2014, 10,000-seat Arena in Uncasville, CT continues to be ranked with big city & high profile venues across the globe
National industry trade publications, Pollstar Magazine, Billboard Magazine and Venues Today recently released their 2014 Year End Special issues, which reports the top selling tours and top venues across the globe, and all have ranked Mohegan Sun Arena among the top concert venues in the world. With one of the most successful years it’s seen, Mohegan Sun Arena sold nearly half-a-million concert tickets in 2014, making the venue the 26th ranked concert stop worldwide and 8th nationally for all size venues, beating last year’s Pollstar finish of #52 worldwide and #23 nationally.
With the finish of 8th overall and 3rd for its size nationwide, the Uncasville venue places itself in the company of arenas like The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Philips Arena in Atlanta, The Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. and Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, all of which have capacities of over 15,000. Mohegan Sun Arena also finishes #1 for all of New England in Pollstar’s 2014 ranks.
The Arena has also received high praise from trade publication Billboard Magazine as one of the top venues of the decade so far and for 2014 the Arena finished at #4 in the world and #3 in the USA for its size (5,000-10,000) in total gross from concert ticket sales.

Last year saw Mohegan Sun welcome Bruce Springsteen for the first time for a 2-night stay that closed out the highly touted High Hopes tour. Mohegan Sun Arena played host to multiple other sell-outs in 2014 including Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Cher, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Michael Bublé and Luke Bryan. All of whom are in the top 20 of worldwide touring acts ranked for 2014 in Pollstar.
As one of the busiest arenas in the nation, last year, more people attended concerts at Mohegan Sun Arena than visited Monticello, Glacier Bay National Park and the same amount as visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Arena’s powerhouse calendar so far in 2014 also helped boost the venue to #37 for all Arenas worldwide, In Pollstar Magazine’s mid-year rankings
UNCASVILLE, CT (August 4, 2014) – In Pollstar Magazine’s recently released mid-year report, Mohegan Sun Arena comes in ranking 11th for all Arenas in the U.S., regardless of size. Mohegan Sun Arena currently sits ahead of other big music venue forces such as The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. All of whom have capacities over 18,000.
