UNCASVILLE, CT (April 27, 2015) – This summer, Tom Scholz’ BOSTON will be returning to Mohegan Sun for a highly anticipated concert slated for Thursday, August 13th. Mohegan Sun Arena is excited for another great night of Rock when one of the all-time bands of our time heads back to Uncasville, CT. It all kicks off at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $49.50 and go on sale Friday, May 8th through Ticketmaster at 10:00am. BOSTON is always a huge crowd pleaser with their high-energy stage show, out-of-this-world sound and remarkable musicianship and singing. BOSTON prides itself on performing a totally live show without the use of prerecorded music or technical enhancements, delivering the extraordinary sound that is faithful to their studio recordings.
BOSTON became an iconic Classic Rock fixture when they joined the music scene with their self-titled album in 1976. With over 17 million copies sold, Boston generated hits such as “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind.” and “Smokin’,” Rock staples that are still in heavy rotation today. Their second album, Don’t Look Back was another chart-topper that confirmed their place in Rock history, followed by Third Stage, which hit #1 on the charts, with the top single of 1986, “Amanda.” With over 31 million albums sold to date, BOSTON has stood the test of time, as evidenced by live audiences that span generations.
Fans can expect to hear all the classic songs they have grown to love, and will be treated to some new additions to their set list based on recent requests. Some of music’s next best, like Misterwives, have Thursday night shows lined up for the Wolf Den this April
Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den is already well-established in bringing in some of the best all-time acts like Eddie Money, John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, America, Boyz II Men, Warrant and countless others. The popular free venue has also largely come to be known as one of the top stops in the Northeast for today’s best in Country music, with friends like Dustin Lynch, The Cadillac Three, Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Eric Church and Lady Antebellum, many of whom have graduated to Mohegan Sun Arena, all having played and continue to play, great weekend shows at the Wolf Den. And now Thursday evenings in The Den are making their mark too, with some of the next best bands and artists playing headlining shows every week. New York City based Misterwives are currently touring their widely successful album, Reflections and have multiple dates already sold out. The Pop Indie superstars are fronted by the very talented singer Mandy Lee. They’re upbeat single, “Reflections,” is a huge hit and currently has over 3.5 million plays on YouTube. Misterwives will also be at the Lollapalooza festival 2015, which kicks off July 15th at Grant Park, Chicago.

Thomas is currently in the studio putting finishing touches on his long awaited third solo album, his first in more than six years. The new album – which follows 2009’s acclaimed CRADLESONG – is slated for release in late summer.

A special ceremony is set for the legendary entertainer Chubby Checker, just before his performance in the Wolf Den on October 10th
UNCASVILLE, CT (September 12, 2014) – Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den Hall of Fame has been awarded to great acts such as Eddie Money, Little Anthony & The Imperials, America and John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band since its incarnation. The exclusive club recognizes a distinct class of performers whose longevity and dedication have helped make the Wolf Den as successful as it is today. Mohegan Sun is very proud to recognize and celebrate Chubby Checker’s involvement with the Wolf Den and more importantly his passion and importance to music over the last half century.
The induction ceremony will take place on the Wolf Den stage prior to the start of the Chubby’s performance on Friday, October 10th at 8:00pm. Mohegan Sun executives and Tribal leaders will be on-hand to say a few words in Chubby Checker’s honor and to induct him into the Wolf Den Hall of Fame!
Chubby Checker is the only artist to have a song be #1 twice with the huge smash, “The Twist,” which shattered the charts in 1960. The next few years were prolific for Chubby as hit after hit followed. In, 1961, Chubby recorded “Pony Time,” written by Don Covay and John Berry. It went to #1 and stayed on the charts for 16 weeks. The platinum-selling artist never slowed down over the years with 9 double-sided hits and continually touring. In his own words as to what keeps him going? Chubby says, “It’s the fans. The energy I get from singing and dancing with all these people over the years is unlike anything else I experience. I never want it to end.”
