UNCASVILLE, CT (January 16, 2020) – Mohegan Sun’s 17th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest takes place Friday, January 24th – Sunday, January 26th, and a variety of celebrities are joining in on the fun with appearances at the Bourbon Tasting, Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around and more! Tickets to all events are still available for purchase via ticketmaster.com and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Ticket prices are subject to increase the day of the events.
The Bourbon Tasting presented by Beam Suntory, Inc. takes place on Friday, January 24th in the Earth Ballroom and will feature a special appearance by 20-year NBA all-star Charles Oakley. Charles most well-known for his time with the New York Knicks in the 90s as a hard playing Power Forward. Guests can get a taste of the finest bourbon from Jim Beam, devour tasty selections from Bear’s Restaurant group and receive a cigar from BoutiqueCigar.com. The Bourbon Tasting presented by Beam Suntory Inc. takes place from 6:00pm – 9:00pm and tickets are $90.
At the Grand Tasting preview, guests can get a sneak peek of the main event while enjoying a performance by Maggie Rose on the Coca-Cola Kitchen Stage. A woman of exceptional versatility and variety, Maggie Rose draws from the many musical genres at play – a love of storytelling and substantive lyrics learned from Country music, an affinity for finely crafted Pop production, R&B’s commitment to an irresistible groove. Maggie Rose is also set to perform a free show in the Wolf Den on Thursday, January 23rd at 8:00pm. Additionally, Ben Robinson of Bravo’s hit series Below Deck/Below Deck Mediterranean will show off his skills with a chef demonstration on the Main Stage presented by Gotham Steel Stack Master. The Grand Tasting Preview takes place in the Earth Expo Center on Friday, January 24th from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Tickets are $45, with designated driver tickets available for $20.
The Grand Tasting will introduce a new chef to Sun Wine & Food Fest. Richard Blais, winner of Bravo’s Top Chef All-Stars and recurring judge on Top Chef and Master Chef will join some of the best in the business with a variety of electrifying chef demonstrations on the Main Stage presented by Gotham Steel Stack Master. The Grand Tasting in the Earth Expo Center is from Noon – 5:00pm on Saturday, January 25th and tickets are $95. Designated driver tickets are available for $20.
The Celebrity Chef Dine Around presented by Hendrick’s Gin will tease a taste of TAO with a showcase of dining options by Ralph Scamardella, Partner/Chef with Tao Group Hospitality. TAO Restaurant at Mohegan is set to open this year, featuring a menu of elevated Pan-Asian fare, a beverage program catering to Asian tastes and a robust sake program. Over 25 celebrity chefs will also participate in Mohegan Sun’s signature walk-around event, creating signature food items paired with a wine, beer or spirit. Other celebrity appearances during this event include Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill from Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta and newly-crowned Miss America Camille Schrier. Music will be provided by DJ Irie. Celebrity Chef Dine Around is from 8:00pm – 10:30pm on Saturday, January 25th in the Uncas Ballroom. Tickets are $190.
Sun Wine & Food Fest’s Sunday Brunch will be kicked up a notch with the Brunch Battle. Two Connecticut-based chefs will go head-to-head with only 30 minutes to create the best dish to present to celebrity chef judges Aarón Sánchez, Amanda Freitag, Marc Murphy and Maneet Chauhan. Norwich native Ceil Vardar, food writer, cooking instructor and winner of Food Network’s Chopped will face Daniel Monroe, a former US Army culinary specialist and current chef at Fairfield Connecticut’s gourmet grocery store, The Pantry. The winner will receive a $1,000 Mohegan Sun gift card, have their brunch item added to a special featured menu at Todd English’s Tuscany and earn the title of “Brunch Battle Champion”. This event is from 10:00am – 1:00pm in the Uncas Ballroom, tickets are $90.
Mohegan Sun’s newest ultra-lounge novelle wraps up the Sun Wine & Food Fest weekend on Sunday, January 26th with the Champagne Brunch presented by Truly Hard Seltzer. Guests can mix and mingle with Tom & Tom from Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules, Miss America, Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill while Brandi Cyrus spins a live DJ set. UNCASVILLE, CT (December 13, 2019) – The 17th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest presented by MSC Cruises is switching up the brunch game with two brand new events: Brunch Battle and Champagne Brunch, both taking place on Sunday, January 26th. Tickets to all events are on sale now via ticketmaster.com and the Mohegan Sun Box Office, subject to availability. Prices may be subject to increase if purchased the day of the event.
Brunch Battle
This year, Sun Wine & Food Fest presented by MSC Cruises kicks brunch up a notch with an epic battle! Two local chefs will go head-to-head in the Uncas Ballroom with only 30 minutes to create the best brunch to present to celebrity judges Aarón Sanchez, Amanda Freitag, Maneet Chauhan and Marc Murphy. The “Brunch Battle Champion” will win a $1,000 Mohegan Sun gift card and have their brunch featured as a special menu item at Todd English’s Tuscany. Ralphie Aversa of DISH Network’s DISH Studio will host the event, giving the play-by-play of each exciting moment between the two talented chefs. Additionally, guests can enjoy a brunch buffet with complimentary cocktails as the competition heats up! Chefs can submit their applications to the Mohegan Sun website. The deadline for submissions is Monday, January 13th at Noon.
The Brunch Battle is from 10:00am – 1:00pm in the Uncas Ballroom on Sunday, January 26th. Tickets are $90.
Champagne Brunch
Join Mohegan Sun’s newest ultra-lounge novelle for Champagne Brunch to wrap up the Sun Wine & Food Fest Weekend! Guests will have the chance to mix and mingle with celebrities while Brandi Cyrus spins a live DJ set. Tickets are $20 and food is available for purchase separately from an á la carte brunch menu. Tickets to the decadent three-day weekend are on sale now!
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 4, 2019) – The 17th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest presented by MSC Cruises – the world’s fastest-growing cruise line, offering an enriching cruise experience inspired by European heritage – is back at Mohegan Sun! Starting Friday, January 24th, wine connoisseurs and foodies alike can sip and sample their way through endless vintages and signature dishes, all while welcoming the return of notable showcases like the Bourbon Tasting, the Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around and more. Guests can top off the weekend with an indulgent Sunday Brunch, hosted by top names in the industry. New to Sun Wine & Food Fest this year, 40 guests can enjoy an exclusive wine tasting hosted by 19 Crimes in Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, with an appearance by celebrity chef and restaurateur, Rocco Dispirito. Select your favorite varietal and enjoy with a pairing from General Cigar.
The Cigar and Wine Pairing presented by 19 Crimes is from 10:00pm – 11:00pm on Friday, January 24th. Tickets are $50.00 in advance and $55.00 the day of the event. One ticket includes tasting, a full pour of wine and a cigar.
Grand Tasting Preview
Guests can get a sneak peek into one of Sun Wine & Food Fest’s signature showcases, the Grand Tasting. This preview takes place in the Earth Expo Center, and guests can taste a variety of wine, beer and spirits while pairing their favorites with delicious dishes from some of the region’s highly-rated restaurants. With a glimpse at how celebrity chefs show off their culinary skills, the Grand Tasting Preview is your chance to experience an exclusive preview of the main event.

Grand Tasting
At the Grand Tasting in the Earth Expo Center, guests can sample over 1,000 varieties of wine, beer and spirits! Foodies can also purchase signature dishes from some of the region’s highly-rated restaurants and the main culinary stage features a day full of celebrity chef demos, presented by Gotham Steel Stack Master.
The Grand Tasting is Saturday, January 25th and has a VIP hour from 11:00am to Noon, with General Admission from Noon to 5:00pm. Tickets are $95.00 for regular admission and $20.00 for designated drivers.
