UNCASVILLE, CT (October 1, 2024) – This past Saturday evening, on September 28th, Mohegan Sun’s revamped outdoor Sun Patio venue played host to an all-ages event featuring a popular Taylor Swift tribute band. A crowd of more than 2,150 enjoyed the special evening of their favorite hit songs, fun activities, and food trucks by way of Philly’s, Supreme Hot Dogs and NoRA Cupcake Company.
“We made some major improvements to the outdoor space known as Sun Patio ahead of the summer and with that, Mohegan Sun successfully hosted a variety of events, including 30+ free concerts,” -said Jeff Hamilton, President & GM of Mohegan Sun. “This Taylor Swift celebration was a tremendous showcase of what we envisioned for this unique outdoor amenity, and it became the largest ticketed event yet hosted on the new Sun Patio, with more than 2,150 enjoying the special event!”
Officially billed as “Are you Ready For iT? A Musical Tribute,” a talented tribute band based in Connecticut hit the stage just after 6:00pm. Using costumes, choreography and signature elements from Taylor’s performances, the band captured the thrill of one of the most iconic acts in music today. In addition to a night filled with chart-topping renditions, the event featured group seating around fire pits, delicious bites, a photo booth and a friendship bracelet station.
“This was a truly memorable event for Mohegan Sun and our guests,” -said Kim Noto, CMO for Mohegan Sun. “The Sun Patio at Mohegan Sun has had its best season yet both in terms of visitation and in variety – and there is still more to come this year and in 2025 as well.”
Additional events coming up on the Sun Patio include the recently announced “Moonlit Movies” on Friday, October 18th, where an all-ages showing of the movie Hocus Pocus takes place at 6:00pm, and a showing of the Us (18+ recommended) begins at 8:30pm. The weekend of October 25th also brings the return of Mohegan Sun’s annual Sun BrewFest – and on Friday, October 25th, the kick-off event is Seltzer Social on the Sun Patio, featuring endless seltzer flavors, fall-inspired spirits, food from House of BBQ & Bacon and live entertainment by DJ Jay R One! A sold-out show with legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks marked 3,000 Arena events since opening the award-winning 10,000-seat venue in October 2001. UNCASVILLE, CT (February 23, 2024) – On Thursday, February 22nd, Mohegan Sun honored Matt Rife as the 41st Walk of Fame inductee, ahead of the second of five consecutive sold-out shows during the ProbleMATTic World Tour at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan, and Kim Baker of the Mohegan Tribal Council, presented the headline comic with the Walk of Fame star.
“Five consecutive sold-out shows at an award-winning venue like Mohegan Sun Arena unquestionably deserves recognition in our Walk of Fame. More than 35,000 people will fill the Arena during this record-breaking run, and we are thrilled to have Matt Rife and his entire team be a part of it,” Cantone said before introducing Rife amongst an outburst of cheers and applause.
Matt Rife accepted the award in front of a large crowd of his most dedicated fans.
“This has been an incredible experience for me and means more than a Hollywood Walk of Fame star,” Matt Rife told the crowd after accepting the award. “Thank you to everyone that has supported me from the beginning. Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan, presented the chart-topping artist with the Walk of Fame star.
“We’re proud to make Thomas Rhett the latest member of Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. Thomas Rhett started in our Wolf Den over 10 years ago, and has sold out six consecutive shows since,” Cantone said before introducing Rhett amongst an eruption of cheers and applause.
Thomas Rhett accepted the award in front of a large crowd of his most dedicated fans.
“This is a huge honor for me,” Thomas Rhett told the crowd after accepting the award. “Mohegan Sun Arena has been a second home to me since I was about 21 years old. I appreciate all my fans in the Northeast, especially those at Mohegan Sun Arena who have supported my music since the beginning.”
Thomas Rhett performed in front of two consecutive sold-out crowds on Friday and Saturday evening as part of his Home Team Tour 23, with Cole Swindell and Nate Smith as show openers. These were Rhett’s fifth and sixth sold-out shows at Mohegan Sun Arena since first playing in 2010.

Taylor Swift celebrates a sold-out show by adding her star to the roster of entertainers who have performed at Mohegan Sun
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that one of the queens of Country, Taylor Swift, has joined the list of top-tier entertainers who have become a part of the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame. Her induction took place Friday, August 28th in the forecourt of the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Accepting her honor before a very large crowd of excited fans, a grinning Swift said, “This is the best start to my day ever! Thank you all so much for being here, I can’t wait to have a blast with you guys tonight!”
Swift’s first two performances at Mohegan Sun took place in 2007 where she was the opener for George Strait during his two-night stand in the Arena on April 26th & 27th. Then in 2008, Swift was the special guest on Rascal Flatts’ enormously successful Bob That Head tour, which played two sold-out shows at Mohegan Sun Arena on November 1st & 2nd.
