Taylor Swift celebrates a sold-out show by adding her star to the roster of entertainers who have performed at Mohegan Sun
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that one of the queens of Country, Taylor Swift, has joined the list of 
top-tier entertainers who have become a part of the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame. Her induction took place Friday, August 28th in the forecourt of the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Accepting her honor before a very large crowd of excited fans, a grinning Swift said, “This is the best start to my day ever! Thank you all so much for being here, I can’t wait to have a blast with you guys tonight!”
Swift’s first two performances at Mohegan Sun took place in 2007 where she was the opener for George Strait during his two-night stand in the Arena on April 26th & 27th. Then in 2008, Swift was the special guest on Rascal Flatts’ enormously successful Bob That Head tour, which played two sold-out shows at Mohegan Sun Arena on November 1st & 2nd. Since then, Taylor Swift has become one of the biggest names in the music industry, headlining one of the year’s most successful tours and achieving a record-breaking two-minute sell-out at Mohegan Sun for her show in the Arena on August 28th.
Fearless, Taylor Swift’s second studio album, was released in November 2008 and scored the biggest-selling debut week in 2008 for a female artist in any genre and was the year’s fourth biggest debut. Her previous release, 2006’s Taylor Swift, surpassed triple-platinum status, spent more than twenty weeks in the #1 position atop Billboard’s Country CD Sales chart, and she became the first female solo artist in Country music history to write or co-write every song on a platinum-selling debut CD. UNCASVILLE, CT (August 5, 2009)— Up-and-coming Country group Gloriana will be making a special signing appearance at Mohegan Sun immediately following their show as the opening act for Taylor Swift on Friday, August 28th. The group will be signing copies of their self-titled debut smash album featuring the hit single “Wild at Heart.” The “Signings & Sightings” event will take place on the Spin Street Stage in The Shops at Mohegan Sun concourse. This “Signings & Sightings” event is sponsored by Spin Street and The Shops at Mohegan Sun.

Taylor Swift appears live in Mohegan Sun Arena on August 28th with special guests Kellie Pickler and Gloriana
In her first headlining tour, multi-platinum selling singer and songwriter Taylor Swift will take the stage at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, August 28th at 7:30pm with special guests Kellie Pickler and Gloriana.
Tickets are $59.50 and $49.50 and go on sale Friday, March 20th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Country singer Kellie Pickler is touring in support of her second album, 2008’s Kellie Pickler. The album, which follows 2006’s gold-certified Small Town Girl, produced three Top 20 singles. Pickler is the second American Idol alumna to have a #1 album on the U.S. Country Album chart.
