Rock Icons The Moody Blues Return To The U.S. This Summer On The Voyage Continues: Timeless Flight Tour; Play Mohegan Sun on August 6th

Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Graeme Edge  – will be continuing their “voyage” on TheVoyage Continues: Timeless Flight tour, with new U.S. dates announced for their upcoming summer 2014 schedule.  The tour, which begins in Syracuse, New York on August 1st, will continue through September and heads to Mohegan Sun Arena for a Wednesday, August 6th show beginning at 7:30pm.

The upcoming dates follow their recent sold-out U.S. tour in March and their highly successful second band cruise in early April — The Moodies Cruise — which returned to the Isle of Wight with alums Roger Daltrey of The Who, Carl Palmer of ELP, Lighthouse and Shawn Phillips;  The Zombies, The Orchestra starring ELO, Starship, Little River Band and more.  The summer tour will also tie in with the recent issue of their 17 and 4-CD box sets Timeless Flight, on Universal Music Enterprises.
The band will be going on five decades strong as of May 5, 2014.  Says The Dallas Morning News: The band showed in its performance why it has endured almost half a century…the harmonies between John Lodge and the band front man Justin Hayward created soaring drama punctuated by the interplay between smoke and light ray.  Adds, The St. Louis Post Dispatch:  “It all came down to the melodies, which ranged from gorgeously seductive to simply catchy and punchy…the Moodies depend on nostalgic memories of their fans’ youth, but they also know that in the present, these songs can still move the listener.”  The Toronto Sun says:  “One of the biggest strengths the band has is knowing what they do and doing it extremely well.”
Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Today. It has won “Casino of The Year” at the Country Music Awards in 2008 & 2010 and in 2013, was voted “Arena Of The Year” at the G2E Global Gaming Conference in Las Vegas.
