8th Annual Benefit for Veterans and Active-Duty Military Returns to the Uncas Ballroom on November 11th; Opening Ceremony to include Special Appearance by Robert Irvine
UNCASVILLE, CT (October 4, 2022) –Mohegan Sun and the community will come together on Friday, November 11th for a day that both honors and provides invaluable resources to veterans and active-duty military members. Vets Rock at Mohegan Sun will host a job fair, veteran service organizations and other resources. Veterans and active-duty military members can pre-register for this year’s event through the website. Pre-registration for Save-A-Suit is also available for veterans and active-duty military. Save-A-Suit has been a partner of Vets Rock since 2017 and has fitted more than 1,000 veterans and military members.
Opening Ceremony
Vets Rock 2022 will begin with an opening ceremony in The Shops at Mohegan Sun at 1:30pm, where special remarks will be given by invited dignitaries, followed by a performance by the Mohegan Tribal Color Guard. Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine will be in attendance to accept a donation from the Vets Rock Foundation to benefit the Robert Irvine Foundation. The Robert Irvine Foundation supports our service members, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need through resiliency, health, and wellness programs, in addition to the financial support of top-rated military and first responder organizations.
Vets Rock Expo
From 2:00pm – 6:00pm, guests are invited to partake in the free Vets Rock Expo inside Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom, located in the Sky Convention Center. The expo features over 50 veteran service organizations and career fairs. The Save-A-Suit program alone will allow veterans and active-duty military members to be fitted for professional attire to take home. Save-A-Suite will also take on donations from guests at the entrance of the Uncas Ballroom.
Following the events in the Uncas Ballroom, veterans can head over to the Cabaret Theatre for the Big and Tall Comedy Tour. The tour featuring Big Ern and headliner Mike Bova has quickly become one of the funniest shows in comedy! When the guys are not playing major venues across America, they are playing American Legions and VFWs, raising money for our nation’s veterans. Tickets to see this hilarious dynamic duo are $35 and available via EventBright. This show is for mature audiences only, and guests must be 21+.

7th annual event benefiting veterans and active duty military to take place in the Uncas Ballroom
UNCASVILLE, CT (October 11, 2021) – Vets Rock, a free event where Mohegan Sun and the community come together to celebrate active duty military and veterans with a day of valuable programs and resources, returns Saturday, November 13th. Special services featured in the Uncas Ballroom include a career fair presented by Mohegan Sun, Veteran Service Organizations, Educational Services, Save-A-Suit, and companies looking to provide benefits to veterans and military members.
Opening Ceremony
Vets Rock 2021 will begin with an opening ceremony hosted by Gil Simmons of WTNH in The Shops concourse at 11:00am. The opening ceremony includes a salute to veterans and active duty military personnel remarks by invited dignitaries, and a display by the Tribal Colour Guard.
Vets Rock Expo
From 12:00pm – 6:00pm, guests are invited to partake in the free Vets Rock Expo in the Earth Expo & Convention Center. The expo features over 50 veteran services organizations and a career fair hosted by Mohegan Sun. The Save-A-Suit program will also be on-hand, outfitting up to 100 veterans with professional attire. Pre-registration through the website is required to participate in Save-A-Suit. Guests can also donate professional attire at the entrance of the Uncas Ballroom.

Vets Rock, Mohegan Sun’s annual celebration and career fair dedicated
to active duty military, veterans and reserves, returns to the Earth Expo & Convention Center on Friday, November 6th. Kicking off at Noon with extra safety and distancing measures, special services will be provided from over 50 veteran service organizations, including Vets Rock staples like Save-A-Suit and virtual career fair resources hosted by Hiring Our Heroes. Additionally, guests can access a free flu shot clinic administered by Yale New Haven Health. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) also returns to Mohegan Sun to host a silent auction later this month, with a touch-free experience.
Save-A-Suit, an organization who provides professional business attire and other resources to help support the transition from military life to a civilian career, will be at Vets Rock outfitting veterans, active military members and reserves on-site until 6:00pm. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a new ship-to-home experience. After an in-person “style appointment” at Vets Rock, Save-A-Suit will curate an outfit and ship it straight to the guest’s home at a later date. Save-A-Suit will also be offering virtual workshop opportunities focused on professional and personal development. Donations are appreciated and will be accepted at the event, as Save-A-Suit has seen a fourfold increase in need due to the pandemic.
Vets Rock guests can also partake in incredible virtual career fair resources hosted by Hiring Our Heroes, an organization dedicated to connecting veterans, active duty military members, reserves and military spouses with meaningful employment opportunities. Hiring Our Heroes will have a booth where guests can receive information about virtual services, including job fairs and workshops. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will host their 12th annual charity event via a silent auction on Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th in The Shops at Mohegan Sun near the Box Office. This year’s touch-free auction experience will allow guests to view items in-person and bid on their favorites online from Noon to 10:00pm on both days. Auction items feature sports memorabilia and include a commemorative plaque containing a photo of professional football player Tom Brady and replicas of his championship rings. Autographed items will also be offered – including commemorative photos of the late Eddie Van Halen and the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and a Squier Bullet Stratocaster guitar signed by Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine. 5th annual event benefiting veterans and active duty military
to take place in the Earth Expo & Convention Center
UNCASVILLE, CT (September 23, 2019) – Vets Rock, a free event where Mohegan Sun and the community come together to celebrate active duty military and veterans with a day of valuable programs and resources, returns Friday, November 1st. Chivers for an in-depth look into his powerful and riveting book that chronicles the physical and emotional experiences of combat, The Fighters at a special Winning Authors event. Join us at The Shops concourse as a part of Vets Rock when Chivers will participate in a Q&A session followed by a book signing.
Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. C.J. Chivers will be signing copies of The Fighters, which will be available for purchase through Bank Square Books in Mystic, CT. Books can also be purchased on-site at Mohegan Sun on the day of the event, subject to availability.
