Mohegan Sun Launches All-New Hot Summer Fun Lineup

$500,000 cash is up for grabs along with weekly car giveaways, celebrity sightings, pool parties and the hottest tour stops

UNCASVILLE, CT  – Bigger. Better. Hotter. Just some of the words people will be saying about Mohegan Sun’s new Hot Summer Fun lineup. Now entering its 16th year, Mohegan Sun decided it was time to spice things up a bit. As part of this year’s revamped Hot Summer Fun celebrations, which kicks off June 23rd and runs through September 1st, there will be bigger fireworks displays, better giveaways and hotter entertainment.

Fireworks Extravaganzas

Mohegan Sun is making a bang this summer, and a big one, as they host three large Hot Summer Fun parties on the rooftop of the Riverview Garage. Open to all ages, the fun kicks off at 5:00pm and includes games for kids of all ages, carnival food favorites and samples of summer treats from CT based Farmers Cow, as well as Mohegan Sun’s Tiki Bar for guests 21+. These special celebrations will be held on Sunday, June 23rd to kick off Hot Summer Fun, on Thursday, July 25th and on Sunday, September 1st to wrap up summer. NOTE: Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Other various events will be taking place throughout the summer including Mohegan Sun’s Signature Events series. Confirmed events to date include Reality Checks with Andy Cohen the host and executive producer of Watch What Happens: Live on Thursday, June 20th and Caroline Manzo of The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Friday, July 12th. Mad-Dash Mondays

Over $500,000 cash is up for grabs this summer at Mohegan Sun with Mad-Dash Mondays. Starting June 24th, each Monday throughout the summer, 10 lucky Player’s Club members have the chance to walk away with their share of $50,000. Every half hour from Noon to 2:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, one lucky Player’s Club member playing at their favorite slot machines will have a chance to enter the Cash Cube containing $5,000.

Take Two Tuesdays

Mohegan Sun will have you seeing double every Tuesday throughout the summer. Beginning Tuesday, June 25th, Player’s Club members playing their favorite slot machines will earn double points from 6:00am to Midnight. Not a gamer? Not a problem. Seasons Buffet will be having specials throughout the day. Other restaurants and retailers offering Take Two Tuesdays specials include Todd English’s Tuscany, Ballo Italian Restaurant, Hash House a Go Go, Michael Jordan’s 23.sportcafe, Sephora, Citizen Watch and Kids Quest among many others. Spin to Win Wednesdays

Cure the midweek blues with Spin to Win Wednesdays at Mohegan Sun. Each Wednesday beginning on June 26th from Noon to 8:00pm, Player’s Club members will have the opportunity to win at least $10.00 and up to $1,000 in Free Slot Play with PowerSpin, one of Mohegan Sun’s PowerPlay Bonusing features.
Guests can also enjoy the popular Wine Wednesdays. Held on the terrace of Todd English’s Tuscany each Wednesday at 6:00pm, enjoy food, wine, tapas and more with special wine-themed events including Tastings & Tapas. Plus, every Wednesday features special wine pairing dinners at Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain and Todd English’s Tuscany and at VISTA Lounge, enjoy an evening of champagne & Jazz from 8:00pm to 11:00pm.

Free Ride Thursdays

What’s better than a car giveaway? How about 10! Throughout Hot Summer Fun, Mohegan Sun is giving away a car each Thursday beginning June 27th. To qualify, Player’s Club members just need to be playing their favorite slot machine or table game between Noon and 8:00pm. Each week, one lucky guest will walk away with a car, but they aren’t the only winner. Guests playing around the winner could also receive a $50.00 gas credit good at Mohegan Sun Mobil Gas Station & Convenience Store.
On Thursday nights, things heat up with the return of GLO At The Pool, New England’s only night-time pool party. GLO At The Pool’s unique outdoor location provides a nightlife experience unlike any other. Cover charge for Thursdays is $10.00 and Saturdays is $20.00; ladies enter free until 11:00pm. Festive Fridays

Each Friday morning throughout Hot Summer Fun, Mohegan Sun will also be giving away free t-shirts for the first 4,000 Player’s Club members. Shirts will be distributed at the Summer and Riverview Coat Checks starting at 9:00am. A different color shirt will be given each week.  Collect all 10 during Hot Summer Fun!  Then start the weekend early with the free and all-new Summer SunFest Concert Series each Friday from 6:00pm to 10:00pm on the rooftop of the Riverview Garage. This 21 and over event allows guests to enjoy food and drink specials, like $2.00 drafts from Bud Light and Goose Island and Bacardi cocktails starting at $5.00, while listening to their favorite cover bands. Sultry Saturdays

Add a little spice to your life with Sultry Saturdays at Mohegan Sun, where the premier party spots in the region are all under one roof. Dance under the stars at GLO At The Pool – the only nighttime pool party in New England, enjoy a drink under the world’s largest indoor planetarium dome at VISTA Lounge at Wombi Rock or party the night away at MIST, a steamy, contemporary (venue) that sits beneath the 3-story water wall in Casino of the Wind.
Guests can also grab a pint or some amazing pub fare at The Lansdowne Irish Pub & Music House or dance into the early morning at Ballo Italian Restaurant & Social Club. On Saturday, December 22nd, Mohegan Sun will be celebrating surviving Doomsday with two real life survivors: Jenna Morasca and Ethan Zohn. Join the two Survivor alums as they host a special Reality Check at 2:00pm in The Shops at Mohegan Sun.

This free event includes a Q&A with fans followed by a public signing. Not only did Morasca and Zohn each win the one-million dollar grand prize for their respective seasons of Survivor, the duo most recently appeared on the 19th season of The Amazing Race.

More Big Changes On The Way For Mohegan Sun’s Nightlife

Mohegan Sun continues to revitalize its nightlife with renovations to Bow & Arrow Sports Bar, Lucky’s Lounge and The Dubliner

This summer, Mohegan Sun has heated things up in southeastern Connecticut with the launch of GLO At The Pool and VISTA Lounge at Wombi Rock. The nightlife scene has never been better and it’s only going to continue as big changes are in store for Bow & Arrow Sports Bar, as well as a complete redesign of Lucky’s Lounge and The Dubliner.
GLO At The Pool was one of the first big additions Mohegan Sun made to its nightlife scene. The idea was to create an atmosphere like no other in New England by transforming the pool and large outdoor terrace area, located on the third floor of the hotel, to a late night pool party with drinks, swimming, full service cabanas, fire pits, live DJs and celebrity appearances.  And that’s exactly what happened.  Since it’s sold out opening on Thursday, June 28th with special guests DJ Clinton Sparks and Redfoo of LMFAO, GLO has become a hot spot, averaging 300+ guests every Thursday and Saturday night.  Mohegan Sun and its dedicated nightlife staff couldn’t be happier, as expressed by Nightlife Manager Gregory Romeyn. “We are very pleased with the success of GLO At The Pool.  We thought it would be a cool, unique nightlife option here at Mohegan Sun and that seems to be the case by the excitement it’s gained and the number of people it attracts.”
While the party was going on outside, Mohegan Sun also set out to re-identify what used to be Leffingwells Martini Bar.  Now VISTA Lounge at Wombi Rock, ran by The Lyons Group, the newly re-designed ultra-lounge debuted on Saturday, July 21st with special celebrity host Jenny McCarthy.  The new features in VISTA Lounge At Wombi Rock came by way of a brand new, state-of-the-art sound system with a live DJ booth, two blackjack tables located near the far end of the lounge, all-new drink menu’s and a dance floor, as well as completely new furniture to relax with friends.
President and CEO of Mohegan Sun, Jeff Hartmann, is very pleased with the direction nightlife has taken and is even more excited for what’s still to come. “While we have always had some really great nightlife offerings, we felt it was time to give the programming a little boost and what better way to do that than to launch our new pool parties – GLO At The Pool – hosted by LMFAO,” said Hartmann. “We are also really excited about the renovations to Wombi Rock – launching the new VISTA Lounge – and this fall, are eager to unveil changes to Bow & Arrow Sports Bar and the space formerly occupied by Lucky’s Lounge and The Dubliner which is being transformed into one large 10,000 square-foot Irish Pub.
Part of those new initiatives will be the changes to Lucky’s Lounge and The Dubliner. Construction has begun to combine the two bars, making it one large Irish Pub. It is set to be completed by early fall of this year.  The new pub, which the name has yet to be revealed, will feature great entertainment, food and drinks, as well as design elements directly from Ireland.
It doesn’t stop there. Over in Casino of the Earth, Mohegan Sun’s Bow & Arrow Sports Bar is also undergoing some major upgrades.  A 16 – monitor HD wall display that is equivalent to a 184” screen will be the centerpiece to an impressive video wall.  The sports bar, which will feature programming from DIRECTV’s Professional and College Football packages, will have more seating, wireless tabletop speakers and a completely revamped audio system, in addition to great food and drinks.

The sports bar closed on July 29th for renovations and is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, August 30th. A grand opening celebration is set to take place on Wednesday, September 5th as the pro football season kicks off.
