Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den Headliners Announced For June

George Clinton takes the stage June 3rd
Chris Young performs on June 4th
Ryan Star is live on June 10th
Gin Blossoms rock the joint on June 17th
Blues Traveler heats things up on June 24th
The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun has a variety of headliners this June, beginning with Funk legend George Clinton on Friday, June 3rd, followed by Country music artist Chris Young on Saturday, June 4th. Ryan Star brings his Rock tunes live in the Den on Friday, June 10th and Rock band Gin Blossoms will bring their hits to the Wolf Den stage on Friday, June 17th.  Finally, Blues Traveler arrives on Friday, June 24th.  Friday and Saturday Wolf Den shows begin at 8:00pm and Sunday shows are at 7:00pm unless otherwise noted.   Admission is free, but all guests must be 21 or over.
George Clinton is an American musician and the principal architect of P-Funk. He was the mastermind of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the 70s and early 80s and is a solo Funk artist as of 1981. He has been called one of the most important innovators of Funk music, next to James Brown and Sly Stone. Clinton is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted in 1997 with fifteen other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.
With an ear toward the past and an eye on the future, Chris Young is quickly distinguishing himself as a newcomer who honors Country music’s best traditions while adding a fresh new chapter to the genre’s legacy. With his rich, warm baritone and penchant for writing relatable, slice–of–life songs, Young’s sophomore project, The Man I Want to Be – featuring his current smash single, “Gettin’ You Home” – is an album that showcases a new traditionalist poised to take his place among his musical heroes.
As the title of the New York rocker’s Atlantic debut provocatively suggests, Ryan Star’s whole life has been building to this point. The songs on 11:59 play out in real time, the stories spin out in narratives that resonate with urgency and truth. Star’s often stripped-bare vocals give the songs an added resonance.
The Gin Blossoms have undoubtedly left their mark on the Rock music map.  Hits like “Hey Jealousy,” “Found Out About You” and “Follow You Down” have earned the Gin Blossoms platinum albums and a Grammy nomination. The band’s fusion of melodic Rock, Folk and Country elements has paved the way for the modern Rock of today.
It’s not every band that’s still staking out new musical territory and embracing fresh challenges more than 24 years into their career, but that’s the case with Blues Traveler. Having long ago graduated from the jam-band underground to mainstream stardom, the iconoclastic combo has consistently stuck to its guns and played by its own rules. For their latest release (and Verve Forecast debut) North Hollywood Shootout, the quintet ventured out of their creative comfort zone to explore some adventurous new horizons. The resulting album is a landmark in Blues Traveler’s large and widely loved body of work, demonstrating the enduring strengths of the band’s songwriting while capturing the spontaneous spirit of their legendary live shows.

Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den Headliners Announced For May

Bell Biv DeVoe takes the stage May 6th
Vanilla Ice performs on May 7th
Jimmy Wayne is live on May 20th
Crossfade rocks the joint on May 27th
America heats things up on May 28th
The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun has lined up a stellar list of headliners this May, beginning with R&B performers Bell Biv DeVoe on Friday, May 6th, followed by Hip Hop pioneer Vanilla Ice on Saturday, May 7th. Jimmy Wayne brings his Country tunes live in the Den on Friday, May 20th and Rock band Crossfade will bring the sounds of their latest album to the Wolf Den stage on Friday, May 27th.  Finally, Rock royalty is honored as Wolf Den Hall of Fame inductee America arrives on Saturday, May 28th.  Friday and Saturday Wolf Den shows begin at 8:00pm and Sunday shows are at 7:00pm unless otherwise noted.   Admission is free, but all guests must be 21 or over.
Bell Biv DeVoe is an R&B musical group that branched off from New Edition. It consists of three of New Edition’s previous members, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe. The group took the R&B scene by storm in 1991 with their debut album, Poison.
Vanilla Ice rose to fame with his infectious 1990 hit, “Ice Ice Baby,” but concert-goers can expect more than that from this performer. His influences range from Old School Hip Hop to underground Rock, and what fans can expect is an eclectic combination of music genres and more when he takes the stage.
Country artist, Jimmy Wayne’s remake of the Hall & Oates Pop classic “Sara Smile” is now the centerpiece of an album that showcases his formidable talents as both a vocalist and a songwriter. His soulful singing permeates every note of such soaring, powerful ballads as “All the Time in the World,” “Belongs to You” and “Counting the Days.” He rocks splendidly on “There’s a Memory” and “Things I Believe.”
Crossfade may not have conquered all of its demons, but the band is sounding a vehement battle cry. The Columbia, SC outfit’s third album delves into familiar lyrical themes of betrayal and isolation—but there’s also more than a hint of renewal and resolution. The set’s 10 tracks, produced by the band, maintain the sonic thunderclap of Crossfade’s previous efforts, while propelling its guitar-grinding signature with a tapestry of orchestration and programming, and a flourish of keyboards, thanks to the addition of Les Hall to the permanent lineup, alongside Sloan, bassist Mitch James and drummer Will Hunt.
Wolf Den Hall of Fame Inductee America rose to fame in the 1970s with a string of commercially successful albums.  The Folk/Rock band’s biggest hits include, “A Horse with No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair” and “Ventura Highway.”

Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den Lines Up Headliners For April

Jack Ingram takes the stage April 2nd
Poco performs on April 15th
Lee Brice is live on April 16th
Rusted Root heats things up on April 22nd
Eddie Money rocks the joint on April 30th
The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun will continue to thrill this spring, beginning with Country singer Jack Ingram on Saturday, April 2nd, followed by Country musicians Poco on Friday, April 15th. Lee Brice brings his rugged Country sound live in the Den on Saturday, April 16th and Rusted Root will bring their Bluegrass Rock to the Wolf Den stage on Friday, April 22nd.  Finally, the 80s come alive again as Wolf Den Hall of Fame inductee Eddie Money arrives in the Wolf Den on Saturday, April 30th.  Friday and Saturday Wolf Den shows begin at 8:00pm and Sunday shows are at 7:00pm unless otherwise noted.   Admission is free, but all guests must be 21 or over.
Jack Ingram remains in the forefront of Country music with the album Big Dreams & High Hopes, the seventh studio album of his career and his third for Nashville maverick indie label Big Machine Records. And you’ve probably already heard the swimming hole party anthem “Barefoot and Crazy” which quickly became a radio smash and a soundtrack for the hot summer of 2009.
Pioneers of the Country Rock sound that soared out of California in the late 60s and early 70s, Poco was the inspiration for bands like The Eagles, Firefall, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Pure Prairie League, Little River Band and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, as well as the new breed of Country Rock acts.
Lee Brice’s sounds reflect the rugged feel of steel guitar and fiddle, the images of growing up in a world of fields and farms, of heartbreak and hard work. Lee Brice is Country all the way. It’s in his voice – think of it as honey trickling through lines of melody etched in leather – and in the images it conjures, of “Country girls and redneck boys” anticipating the night to come in the sunset glow of a Dairy Queen (“Sumter County”) and of growing up “on the edge of a cornfield” (“Picture of Me”).
Pittsburgh-based band Rusted Root is well known for their style of blending Bluegrass Rock and strong percussion. They have released several albums to date including a greatest hits collection and their latest effort Stereo Rodeo. They are best known for their hits “Send Me On My Way” and “Ecstasy.”
Wolf Den Hall of Fame Inductee Eddie Money hit the Top 40 with “Two Tickets to Paradise” and “Baby Hold On,” and had a huge success with “Take Me Home Tonight,” his music/ video collaboration with the legendary Ronnie Spector. A perennial favorite for Wolf Den audiences, Money always delivers big-time.
