Renowned saxophonist Mindi Abair to take part in exclusive signing in The Shops at Mohegan Sun

Immediately following her performance in the Wolf Den on May 21st, the incredibly-talented Mindi Abair will greet fans and sign autographs as part of Mohegan Sun’s exclusive Signings & Sightings.  This free personal appearance and signing will take place on the Spin Street Stage in The Shops at Mohegan Sun.  All Signings & Sightings events are free and open to the public.  Spin Street will have Abair’s most recent release In Hi-Fi Stereo available for purchase leading up to and on the day of this event.

Mindi Abair’s performance in the Wolf Den is at 8:00pm.  The Wolf Den is free and open to the public.  Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend. 

ABOUT MINDI ABAIR
Mindi Abair is a distinguished and very popular American contemporary Jazz saxophonist that has either recorded or toured with the likes of John Tesh, Rick Braun, Josh Groban, Teena Marie, Mandy Moore and Peter White.  In 1999, she independently released a Pop album entitled Always and Never the Same.  In 2003, she returned to her Jazz roots with the release of It Just Happens That Way, which peaked at #7 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart and remained in the Top 10 for nineteen consecutive weeks.  It Just Happens That Way was followed up by two very successful Jazz records entitled Come As YouAre(2004) and Life Less Ordinary(2006); the latter peaked at #2 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts. Some of Abair’s hit singles include “Lucy’s,” “True Blue,” “Bloom,” “Stars” as well as the R&R Jazz airplay top 10 hit “Smile.”  Her newest album entitled In Hi-Fi Stereo, we’ll be released on May 18th and is entirely produced by Grammy-nominated, Rex Rideout.

New York Times best-selling author, Harlan Coben takes part in a Winning Authors event on April 10th

Mohegan Sun’s Winning Authors welcomes best-selling author Harlan Coben. The world-renowned author will host a live discussion on Saturday, April 10th in The Cabaret Theatre at 2:00pm followed by a book signing in The Shops at Mohegan Sun at 3:00pm for his latest thriller Caught. Coben’s appearance in Mohegan Sun’s Winning Authors places him in a class of authors such as Sue Grafton, Nora Roberts, Robin Cook, Lee Child and John Saul.  

Harlan Coben’s critically-acclaimed novels have earned him international success. As the first author ever to win the Edgar Award, Shamus Award and Anthony Award, Coben continues to rake in accolades from reviewers and fans worldwide. His previous seven novels have appeared on the top of all major best-seller lists including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Publishers Weekly. A variety of dining, shopping, hotel, spa, entertainment and singles specials highlight Valentine’s Day weekend at Mohegan Sun

Valentine’s Day is approaching and Mohegan Sun is the prime destination for exclusive dining options, Elemis Spa specials, a singles night and great discounts at Mohegan Sun shops. 

DINING OFFERINGS

Todd English’s Tuscany will serve a four-course tasting starting with a trio of gourmet Oysters followed by Oil-Poached Swordfish with Olive-Crusted Potatoes and Tomato Caper Emulsion. Then, a tender Half-Rack of Lamb, topped off with a Chocolate Fondant Cake for dessert. The tasting will be offered from at $47.00 per person on February 14th.

Michael Jordan’s Steak House will prepare a variety of dishes including a Fried Brie appetizer with Grape Essence for $9.00, a 14-ounce Bone-In Filet Mignon entrée with Port Wine Demi, Cherry Compote and Caramelized Endive for $49.00 and Long- Stemmed Strawberries dipped in Chocolate for $5.00. The specials will run from February 12th through the14th. 

SolToro Tequila Grill commemorates Valentine’s Day with Shrimp & Roasted Corn Bisque for $6.95 and Apple Wood Bacon wrapped in Shrimp with a Mango Lemongrass Mojo, Pepita Pesto Mashed Potatoes and Chef’s Vegetables for $21.00. The dishes will be offered from February 12th through the14th.

Big Bubba’s BBQ will offer a Valentine’s Day dinner for two that will include a choice of Lobster Bisque or Caesar Salad followed by Filet Mignon & Shrimp with Roasted Potatoes & Asparagus. A rich Triple Mousse Cake will be prepared for dessert. The dinner, will be served at $49.99 from February 12th through the 14th.

Birches Bar & Grill will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a three-course meal beginning with a choice of Soup or Salad, followed by a choice of Coulibiac of Salmon or Prime Rib. The meal concludes with Chocolate Fondant Cake for dessert and will be served at $34.95 per person on February 14th.

Mohegan Sun’s Signings & Sightings welcomes the host of Bravo’s hit reality television show Millionaire Matchmaker, Patti Stanger, to The Shops at Mohegan Sun on Saturday, February 13th. From 10:00am to 12:00pm, Stanger will sign copies of her latest paperback Become Your Own Matchmaker.

All Signings and Sightings events are free and open to the public. Spin Street will be selling signing merchandise at special event pricing.

Mohegan After Dark will also have something for singles this Valentine’s Day weekend with little black dress night on Friday, February 12th at Ultra 88 Night Club. Admission is $10.00 and ladies who wear a black dress will get in free before 11:00pm. On February 13th, Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger will host a Valentine’s Day Eve bash at Ultra 88 Night Club. Admission is $20.00 and it is open to the public.

Laugh off Valentine’s Day with stand-up comedy in The Cabaret Theatre with Kevin Meaney and special guests Billy Winn and Jim Dailakis presented by The Treehouse Comedy Club at 9:00pm.
