Mohegan Sun To Host Second Annual ‘MADD About Dancing’

Connecticut celebrities compete to benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving at Mohegan Sun on October 1st

Mohegan Sun is proud to present the second annual ‘MADD About Dancing’ competition in the Uncas Ballroom on Friday, October 1st. Ten Connecticut celebrities will burn up the dance floor with a variety of dancing styles including the Tango, Rumba, Waltz and Swing. This is the second year Mohegan Sun has teamed up with WCTY and Arthur Murray Dance Studios to host a night filled with fun, entertainment and competition as attendees raise awareness and funds for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). A special guest performance will also be announced at a later date.

Doors to the Uncas Ballroom will open at 7:00pm where guests will have the opportunity to enjoy hand-passed hors d’oeuvres and participate in a silent auction featuring Steiner memorabilia, as well as autographed guitars from famed musicians among other items before the celebrities take the stage at 8:00pm with their professional dance partners.
The group of celebrities includes: Veronica Ballestrini, local Country artist; Reischea Canidate, on-air personality at ESPN; Mike DiMauro, Assistant Sports Editor and Columnist for the New London Day; Mark Dixon, Meteorologist at WFSB; Dave Elder, Program Director and Afternoon Host; Desiree Fontaine, Co-Host of Connecticut Style; Charles Jaskiewicz Norwich Board of Education member; Miss Connecticut 2010; Cathy Poulin, Director of Public Relations for Bob’s Discount Furniture; and Bram Weinstein on-air personality, at ESPN.
For the competition, each celebrity will be paired with a professional dance partner from Arthur Murray Dance Studios and will perform two short routines. Female celebrities will perform the Tango and Rumba, while male celebrities will try their hand at the Waltz and Swing.
Tickets to “MADD About Dancing” are $50.00 per person and benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving. They go on sale to the public on Tuesday, June 1st and are available at the following locations: all participating Arthur Murray Dance Studios, the MADD state office in East Haven, the WCTY building in Norwich and at Mohegan Sun’s Box Office.
