UNCASVILLE, CT (October 17, 2022) – Mark your calendars for Sun Wine & Food Fest 2023 at Mohegan Sun! Fans of fine wine and food can indulge their appetites for both during the 19th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest (SWFF) beginning Thursday, January 26th and lasting through Sunday, January 29th. Sun Wine & Food Fest is one of the largest and most popular wine festivals in the Northeast, treating guests to a vast selection of wines and no shortage of delicious food pairings. Across the four-day SWFF 2023 there are 14 total events, including the return of the Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around, and Vintage Cru. New events this year include the Pappy Van Winkle Tasting where guests can taste one of the most sought-after bourbons of Pappy Van Winkle with a special, infused Macanudo cigar inside the Clay Pipe Cigar Bar. The all-new event, Beam & Burgers, enters the mix this year as well, where Gotham Burger Social Club teams up with Beam Suntory Inc. serving mouthwatering burgers and top-shelf whiskey. Sun Wine & Food Fest kicks off on Thursday, January 26th with three incredible events. First up is the TAO Japanese Whisky Dinner at 5:00pm and 6:30pm. Guests can enjoy top-shelf Japanese Whisky paired with a succulent three-course meal at TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge.
At 8:00pm, Clay Pipe Cigar Bar will feature the Ferrand Cognac & Cigar Pairing where guests can enjoy an exclusive tasting of Pierre Ferrand paired with a Macanudo cigar, and a great time!
Also taking place at 6:30pm inside Tuscany will be The Todd English Experience where Chef Todd will take on hosting duties for an evening that kicks off with a craft cocktail hour followed by a seated dinner. Live entertainment will be mixed in, and guests will also be able to mingle with Chef Todd.

Beam & Burgers presented by Beam Suntory, Inc.
Get the weekend started early and warm your palate during the new Beam & Burgers party in the Earth Ballroom. Chef Chad Rosenthal, Chef Mike Puma and Gotham Burger Social Club are teaming up with Beam Suntory, Inc. to provide juicy variations of scrumptious burgers that pair perfectly with top-notch whiskeys. This event will feature live entertainment and a complimentary cigar.
Beam & Burgers presented by Beam Suntory, Inc. takes place from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, January 27th. Tickets are $100 in advance of the event, or $125 on the day of the event.
Grand Tasting Preview
Guests can get a sneak peek of the Grand Tasting, one of Sun Wine & Food Fest’s signature showcases. This preview is held at the Earth Expo Center, and guests can sample a variety of wine, beer, and spirits while pairing their favorites with delectable dishes from some of the region’s top restaurants. The Grand Tasting Preview offers the opportunity to experience an exclusive preview of SWFF’s largest event while also getting an early peek at celebrity chefs showing off their skills.
On Friday, January 27th from 8:00pm to 10:00pm the Grand Tasting Preview will take place. Ticket prices are $100 in advance and $125 at the door. Tickets for designated drivers cost $40.
Grand Tasting
Sun Wine & Food Fest’s main event features over 1,000 different types of wine, beer, and spirits for guests to sample inside the 125,000 square-foot Earth Expo Center! Foodies can also taste dishes from award-winning restaurants throughout the region and select bites from elite chefs. Two culinary stages will be set up for guests to take in a variety of celebrity chef demos from the likes of Michael Symon, Robert Irvine, Marc Murphy, Maneet Chauhan, Nyesha Arrington, Richard Blais, and more!
The Grand Tasting is Saturday, January 28th and has a VIP hour from 11:00am to Noon, with General Admission from Noon to 5:00pm. Tickets are $150 for regular admission and $160 on the day of the event. Designated driver tickets are available for $40.
Vintage Cru
Industry heavyweights Chefs Rocco DiSpirito and Christian Petroni will be on hand to host the Vintage Cru in the Earth Ballroom. Here, taste the “best-of-the-best” vintages from around the world and meet the winemakers and principles behind them. Wine is available for purchase with shipment directly to your home! Each guest in attendance will also receive a $50 iGourmet gift card at the conclusion of the event!
Vintage Cru is from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, January 28th. Public on-sale tickets are $150, or $165 on the day of the event.
Exclusive Pappy Van Winkle Tasting
Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, located in Casino of the Sky, joins the SWFF fun with an exclusive Pappy Van Winkle Tasting! Taste one of the most sought-after bourbons of Pappy Van Winkle, including a tasting of 10 Year, 12 Year, 15 Year, 20 Year, and 23 Year. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy an in-house Macanudo cigar that has been infused with Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year. Celebrity Chef Dine Around
The Celebrity Chef Dine Around is where SWFF fans will see some of the most talented chefs at work during Mohegan Sun’s trademark walk-around event in the Uncas Ballroom. Over 20 famous chefs including Esther Choi, Amanda Freitag, Chris Santos, and Michael Symon will each personally serve a distinctive meal paired with a wine, beer, or spirit. DJ Irie will set the vibe for what is one of the most thrilling events at Sun Wine & Food Fest every year.
Celebrity Chef Dine Around is from 8:00pm to 10:30pm on Saturday, January 28th. Tickets can also be purchased during the public on-sale at $250, or $275 the day of the event.
Bloodys & Brunch With Buddy
Join Buddy Valastro inside Mohegan Sun’s luxury lounge novelle for the Bloodys & Brunch event to finish off Sun Wine & Food Fest 2023 in style! Guests can book their tickets now for $90 or for $100 the day of the event. The famous Buddy Valastro will serve up sweet and savory options while guests sip on premium, crafted Bloody Marys.

The Mohegan Tribe, Griffin Health and the State Department of Public Health to Host Vaccination Clinics at Mohegan Sun
WHAT: Taking place at the Earth Expo & Convention Center this Thursday from 11:00am – 5:00pm and again on Thursday, October 27th from 9:00am – 3:00pm, will be a free Covid-19 vaccine clinic. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and booster doses will be available to the public, and no appointment is required. This partnership between The Mohegan Tribe, the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Griffin Health and Mohegan Sun aims to help in managing COVID-19 this fall and winter.

Live in the Arena January 15th; Tickets on sale October 14th
Bowzer and his Doo – Wop family return to Mohegan Sun to perform some of the best hits from the ‘50s and ‘60s. The latest installment of Bowzer’s Rock ‘N’ Doo – Wop Party Volume XXI will visit Mohegan Sun Arena at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 15th.
Tickets are $35 and $25 and go on sale Friday, October 14th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning on Saturday, October 15th, subject to availability.

World-Class Entertainment Resort to Air Season 6 of its
Original, Award-Winning Digital TV Series, “Back of House,” Starting October 12th and Featuring an All-Female Cast
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot has shifted in the
entertainment and hospitality industry and Mohegan Sun is ready to embrace these changes. The East Coast’s premier resort, today announced the release of its new, captivating season of the highly anticipated, original TV series, “Back of House.” Season 6 is all about celebrations and will feature six brand new episodes streaming weekly on backofhouse.tv, beginning October 12 at 7:30PM EST. This season will reach a whole new level of excitement while showing the audience how integral team members and guests are to making Mohegan Sun the East Coast’s premier entertainment destination.
“Back of House Season 6 – Good Times for Everyone!” is a digital TV series highlighting behind the scenes moments of 10 hospitality professionals working with Mohegan. This season an all-female cast and crew take viewers through their daily lives as Mohegan Sun Team Members, which provides direct insight into the teams’ collaboration skills and strategic decision making. Featured team members include Kara F., Erica T., Lauren W., Lauren L., Kim N., Nikki C., Lacee C., Dana L., Lindsay C. and Cindy L. This season shows several highly anticipated events such as the return of Terrificon, the annual Asian Lion Dance ceremony, the resort’s 25-anniversary, Miss America’s 100th anniversary and finally, Mohegan Sun’s sister property, ilani, celebrating 5 years – reaching a major milestone in the construction of its new hotel.

- Episode 1: A Terrific Time
There are exciting, but strange characters walking all around Mohegan Sun, and that can only mean one thing; Terrificon is back in the Expo Center. Follow Nikki and Dana as they make several last-minute adjustments to assure this event is the best one to date. Once the festival is in full swing, Nikki takes the opportunity to show her family all the hard work that she and the team put in. Nikki, kids, and Dana walk the entire floor together and get a visit from an unexpected co-worker.
- Episode 2: Year of the Tiger
Bringing an important piece of Asian culture to Mohegan Sun’s team and guests, Cindy prepares for the Chinese New Year, celebrating the Year of the Tiger. This includes both an Arena concert with Jonathan Lee and the annual Lion Dance ceremony. Cindy and various departments work together to prepare for the event and create an important video highlighting the festivities. Cindy recruits several members of the executive team to help her – and while it’s a lot to manage, it’s Cindy’s favorite holiday, and she’s determined to make it the best it can be.
- Episode 3: Cheers to Mohegan Sun – Part 1
It’s been 25 remarkable years since Mohegan Sun opened its doors, and before getting ready for a star-studded weekend, it’s time for the team to reflect on some of the memories that put Mohegan Sun on the world stage. Derrick, Erica and others tell the story, from opening day of the resort to all the special moments that put the destination on its path to becoming one of the biggest, best and most talked about in the world. As we travel back in time, we also start to look forward to an amazing party in honor of the occasion and a weekend of big fun, big wins, and big entertainment.
- Episode 4: Cheers to Mohegan Sun – Part 2
Get the champagne out because Blake Shelton, Harry Styles, Run DMC and many more guests and celebs are “all in” to celebrate Mohegan Sun’s 25th anniversary. Lauren and Lindsay are just two of the many Team Members tasked with making sure the weekend goes according to plan. All of this while also planning a luxurious red carpet after-party at TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge. There’s a lot of running around and last-minute changes, but the team is determined to celebrate this monumental occasion without a hitch or a glitch.
- Episode 5: 100 Years Young
Miss America is celebrating their 100-year centennial and where better to do it then at Mohegan Sun. Dana and Lacee have a busy schedule helping them pull together and execute a comprehensive game plan for this special occasion. This includes a Labor Day parade, a 100-year anniversary dinner, preliminary competitions, and the live broadcast finale from the Mohegan Sun Arena. It’s a whirlwind, but this dynamic duo and all Mohegan Sun Team Members are always up for a challenge!
- Episode 6: Celebrating ilani’s 5th
The partnership between the Cowlitz and Mohegan tribes is a special one. The culmination is the creation and success of ilani, a beautiful resort and casino in the Pacific Northwestern US. Lauren flies out to ilani from Connecticut to assist their devoted team with all publicity needs as they prepare to celebrate five wonderful years with so many loyal supporters. The hotel’s topping off ceremony is more than newsworthy because it symbolizes great progress in the construction of ilani’s highly anticipated new hotel. The anticipation for the opening is through the roof.

8th Annual Benefit for Veterans and Active-Duty Military Returns to the Uncas Ballroom on November 11th; Opening Ceremony to include Special Appearance by Robert Irvine
UNCASVILLE, CT (October 4, 2022) –Mohegan Sun and the community will come together on Friday, November 11th for a day that both honors and provides invaluable resources to veterans and active-duty military members. Vets Rock at Mohegan Sun will host a job fair, veteran service organizations and other resources. Veterans and active-duty military members can pre-register for this year’s event through the website. Pre-registration for Save-A-Suit is also available for veterans and active-duty military. Save-A-Suit has been a partner of Vets Rock since 2017 and has fitted more than 1,000 veterans and military members.
Opening Ceremony
Vets Rock 2022 will begin with an opening ceremony in The Shops at Mohegan Sun at 1:30pm, where special remarks will be given by invited dignitaries, followed by a performance by the Mohegan Tribal Color Guard. Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine will be in attendance to accept a donation from the Vets Rock Foundation to benefit the Robert Irvine Foundation. The Robert Irvine Foundation supports our service members, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need through resiliency, health, and wellness programs, in addition to the financial support of top-rated military and first responder organizations.
Vets Rock Expo
From 2:00pm – 6:00pm, guests are invited to partake in the free Vets Rock Expo inside Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom, located in the Sky Convention Center. The expo features over 50 veteran service organizations and career fairs. The Save-A-Suit program alone will allow veterans and active-duty military members to be fitted for professional attire to take home. Save-A-Suite will also take on donations from guests at the entrance of the Uncas Ballroom.
Following the events in the Uncas Ballroom, veterans can head over to the Cabaret Theatre for the Big and Tall Comedy Tour. The tour featuring Big Ern and headliner Mike Bova has quickly become one of the funniest shows in comedy! When the guys are not playing major venues across America, they are playing American Legions and VFWs, raising money for our nation’s veterans. Tickets to see this hilarious dynamic duo are $35 and available via EventBright. This show is for mature audiences only, and guests must be 21+.
