The winner, who asked to remain anonymous, credited his family for getting him to the facility and to the winning machine. “My dad came along and wanted to go to Mohegan Sun” and “my wife insisted on playing [the winning machine] because we always win and can sit together at the game,” he said. After investing only $55.00, the winner said he knew he had won, but wasn’t sure how much. When asked about immediate plans, the winner said he hasn’t decided how to spend his winnings yet, but would be “at work tomorrow.”

Weekly Mini-Baccarat Tournament

The Competition Heats Up During SUN WINEFEST 2010

Chef Showdown, a Grape Stomp competition and the 7th Annual Mohegan Sun Oyster Open take place during the weekend’s Grand Tasting

 A culinary face-off, mashed grapes and oyster shucking will highlight a competition-filled weekend during SUN WINEFEST 2010. A variety of events will take place on Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st including the 6th Annual Chef Showdown, 7th Annual Mohegan Sun Oyster Open and the first-ever Grape Stomp competition.

Sponsored by Hatfield® the 6th Annual Chef Showdown kicks off Saturday, January 30th at 1:45pm on the main stage in the Uncas Ballroom during the Grand Tasting. Chefs who submit the most creative, unique and inspiring recipe utilizing Hatfield® Flat Iron Pork Sirloin and Quick Ribs will be chosen as finalists to  prepare their dishes for a chance to take home $4,000, an exclusive VIP stay at Mohegan Sun, a custom Championship Chef’s Coat and a feature in an upcoming issue of Hartford Magazine. Following the 6th Annual Chef Showdown, Sun WineFest’s first-ever Grape Stomp sponsored by [yellow tail] ® begins at 4:15pm, January 30th, on the main stage. Cantopop Superstar Aaron Kwok Joins The Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame

Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that one of the most popular Hong Kong singers, Aaron Kwok,  will join the list of top-tier entertainers who have become a part of the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame.  His induction will take place in the forecourt of the Mohegan Sun Box Office immediately following his second performance in the Arena on Sunday, December 20th.    
Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame is an exclusive group of performers who are honored for making a significant contribution to the continued success of Mohegan Sun.  Mohegan Sun is privileged to accept the honor of inducting Aaron Kwok into this elite club.  Not only will Kwok be among other inductees such as Billy Joel, Rod Stewart and Taylor Swift; he will also be the first Asian performer to accept this honor at Mohegan Sun.

MOHEGAN SUN AWARDS ANOTHER WHEEL OF FORTUNE® MEGAJACKPOT® – 2nd IN THREE DAYS
Uncasville, CT  — Mohegan Sun awarded its second major jackpot in just three days on Friday, November 27th. The winner, who asked to remain anonymous, won $364,762 on an IGT Wheel of Fortune® MegaJackpot® one-dollar slot machine in Casino of the Earth between the Bow & Arrow bar and Seasons Buffet.
The anonymous winner said she visits Mohegan Sun regularly and “always plays Wheel of Fortune® in that area.” She went on to say she had been playing for about forty-five minutes when the jackpot hit.
Friday’s MegaJackpot® hit is the second to be paid in just three days at Mohegan Sun. On November 24th, a customer was awarded a $224,347 jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune® MegaJackpot® nickel machine and less than two weeks ago, on November 18th, Mohegan Sun paid an incredible $503,808 Wheel of Fortune® MegaJackpot® on a one-dollar machine. This most recent MegaJackpot® brings the total payout for just these machines at Mohegan Sun for 2009 to an incredible $2.8 million.

Mohegan Sun’s Tree Lighting Ceremony Rescheduled For Tomorrow, December 1st

Mohegan Sun regrets to announce that the tree lighting ceremony scheduled for tonight on the rooftop of the Thames Garage has been rescheduled for tomorrow, December 1st due to inclement weather.  The festivities will start at 5:00pm.
Tonight’s live performance of American Stars In Concert For The Holidays will still take place at 7:30pm in The Shops at Mohegan Sun.
