WHAT: Derek Hough, Dancing With The Stars’ most successful dance pro, will join the shows newest star, Emma Slater for a special Reality Check event at Mohegan Sun on Saturday, January 18th. This free, live event will feature a dance performance, Q&A session and public signing.

IN DETAIL: Derek Hough, current, 5-time Dancing With The Stars champion will join the shows newest dance pro, Emma Slater for a special Dancing With the Stars Reality Check event in The Shops Concourse at Mohegan Sun. The special event will include a live dance performance with Hough and Slater followed by a Q&A session and intimate signing event.
Hough is the only 5-time champion in franchise history of the hit ABC series Dancing With The Stars. A dancer since age 11, Hough’s professional Ballroom dance accolades include World Under 21 Latin American champion, 2-time Open British champion (Blackpool), 2-time International Open to the World champion and 2-time U.S. Open champion. Hough is coming off of a big year in 2013 which included an Emmy win for Best Choreography and his fifth Mirror Ball win with partner and Glee star Amber Riley on Season 17 of Dancing With the Stars.
Emma Slater is the newest dance pro on Dancing With the Stars, having made her series debut on Season 17 this past fall. Together with dance partner Bill Engvall, Slater placed 4th in the competition. At age 10, Slater began her training in Ballroom and Latin American Dance and went on to be ranked as one of the world’s top 20 in Latin American Dance. In 2007, Slater was also featured in the Universal Pictures film adaptation of Mamma Mia.
** Due to time restrictions, signing personalization or photos taken with personal cameras are prohibited. Headshots will be given out at the event. This event is bracelet-only. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of bracelets will be distributed starting at 8:00pm at the signing area. Participants must have a bracelet in order to gain entry into the signing line.

Mohegan Sun is excited to announce that for Prince’s trio of performances taking place later this month in Mohegan Sun Arena, two incredible talents have been added to the bill. For the Friday, December 27th and Saturday, December 28th concerts, Grammy Award winning Jazz musician Esperanza Spalding will be the special guest. For the Sunday, December 29th show, the amazingly talented Janelle Monáe will be joining Prince as support.

Monáe has worked with Prince on her critically-acclaimed album The Electric Lady and opened for him on his 2011 tour, Welcome 2 America. Monáe has multiple Grammy nominations already in her short career and is Billboard’s “2013 Women in Music’s Rising Star” award winner. Brad Paisley’s Beat This Summer Tour presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® has been extended through the first of March and renamed appropriately Beat This Winter Tour. Live Nation Global Touring announced today that Lady Gaga’s artRave: The ARTPOP Ball will begin May 4th in Ft. Lauderdale and make a stop in Uncasville, CT on May 10th.
