Set to open in mid-2018, The Mohegan Sun Expo Center Signs On A Multi-Year Boat Show
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 21, 2017) – It was announced today from The Cabaret Theatre inside Mohegan Sun, that the Connecticut Marine Trades Association (CMTA) signed the first year’s contract of a three year agreement with Mohegan Sun, to host their annual boat show in the all-new Expo Center, which is approaching its final stages of construction at the resort located in scenic, Mystic Country CT. CMTA’s first show at Mohegan Sun will be January of 2019.
With Mohegan Sun’s major convention space expansion, totaling 250,000 square-feet and to include within that, a 125,000 square-foot Expo Center, 20,000 square-foot Earth Ballroom, 15 meeting rooms and 20,000 square-feet earmarked for new dining or entertainment space, CMTA joins Barrett-Jackson & United Natural Foods as partners already planning shows in The Mohegan Sun Expo Center. The expansion is on schedule, with an open date expected for summer 2018.
The Connecticut Marine Trades Association’s trade show is set to begin in January of 2019, and this event will be CMTA’s 50th annual boat show. CMTA Chairman, Ron Helbig, CMTA Executive Director, Kathleen Burns and CMTA Dir. & Show Committee Chair, Phil Gaudreau, among many others, all celebrated the signing along with Mohegan Sun leaders on the morning of December 21st, which included Mohegan Tribal Chairman, Kevin “Red Eagle” Brown, Assistant General Manager of Mohegan Sun, Jeff Hamilton, VP of Expo & Convention Sales of Mohegan Sun, John Washko.

Guests are invited to the Celebrity Chef Dine Around to watch the masters at work in the Uncas Ballroom. Celebrity chefs such as Alex Guarnaschelli, Rocco Dispirito and Todd English will be on-hand serving up their best recipes at several live cooking stations. Enjoy the pairing of fine wine or premium beer to complement each signature dish.
