Thursday, January 25th
Sun Wine & Food Fest kicks off on Thursday, January 25th with the TAO Dim Sum at 5:00pm. Fans of Asian-inspired dishes can take in the artistry of skilled TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge chefs and gain valuable insights from experts in the field as they craft a delectable selection of bite-sized delights, alongside a carefully curated selection of premium sake. Foodies and fans of James Beard award-winning chef, Todd English can head over to Todd English’s Tuscany to celebrate the finest ingredients and flavors from around the world with a meticulously crafted menu during the Todd English Experience from 7:00pm – 9:30pm. From the first bite to the last, savor the artistry of Todd’s culinary expertise paired with incredible wines. Guests looking to try something new can head to the Sun Patio from 8:00pm – 10:00pm and experience the thrill of sipping favorite cocktails in a truly unique setting during the Sun Patio Ice Bar Experience, hosted by Waypoint Vanilla Vodka, Baileys Chocolate & Patrón Cielo. Those looking to elevate their palate can attend an exclusive pairing session at the Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, where the Barrels of Beam Featuring Laphroaig Tasting will take place from 8:00pm – 9:30pm. To wrap up the opening night of SWFF, the Litchfield Distillery Farm to Table event in Aquai (located in the Sky Hotel Lobby) will allow guests to immerse themselves in an intimate farm-to-table experience from 10:00pm – Midnight. A variety of spirits from Litchfield Distillery, who uses local farms to harvest the crops used in their batching process, will be offered.

To get day two of Sun Wine & Food Fest 2024 started, guests can head over to TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge for the TAO Whisky Dinner. During two seatings at 5:00pm and 5:15pm, attendees can step into a world of elegance and sophistication as they will be guided through the exquisite flavors of Japanese whisky paired with a delicious three-course meal. From 6:00pm – 9:00pm, whiskey enthusiasts can head to the Earth Ballroom for Beam Suntory Presents: Whiskeys of the World where attendees will partake in a memorable night filled with the finest selection of aged spirits from Japan, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and the United States. Vino enthusiasts looking to secure a sneak peek of the rich flavors, subtle aromas, and exceptional craftsmanship at the Grand Tasting can make their way to the Earth Expo & Convention Center from 7:00pm – 10:00pm for the Grand Tasting Preview. At 9:00pm, experience the Spirits & Cigars Presented by Mohegan Sun’s Barrel Select Program, located at Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, where attendees can savor a carefully curated selection of proprietary top-shelf spirits expertly poured by knowledgeable mixologists. With a total of seven events on day three of the 20th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest, guests can expect to meet some of the top names in the industry, enjoy delectable food selections and cherish some of the best wine and beer around. Fans of fine food and vino can embark on a sensory journey through the world of wine at SWFF’s main event, the exquisite Grand Tasting, from Noon – 5:00pm in the Earth Expo & Convention Center. Seasoned oenophiles and curious novices alike will embark on an immersive experience that celebrates the artistry of winemaking all while sampling more than 1,000 varieties of wine, beer, and 
spirits. Grand Tasting attendees can watch live demonstrations take place on The Main Stage & The Coca Cola Stage from legendary culinary experts such as Amanda Freitag, Aarón Sánchez, Marc Murphy, Scott Conant and more! From 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the Earth Ballroom, Salon B, Vintage Cru will give guests an opportunity to step into a world of opulence and timeless taste while engaging in an enchanting evening dedicated to the art of aging and savoring the most delectable wines from all around the world. Each guest in attendance will receive a $50 iGourmet gift card at the conclusion of the event! Over at novelle, guests can ignite their senses by joining the “chemist” and “cook” from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the Dos Hombres Mezcal featuring Bryan Cranston & Aaron Paul. Bryan & Aaron’s profound affection for mezcal led the two accomplished actors on a journey to a remote Mexican village, and they were determined to introduce tequila’s enigmatic and less renowned counterpart to a broader audience. From 8:00pm – 10:30pm, foodies can make their way to the Uncas Ballroom to elevate their dining experience to new heights during the Celebrity Chef Dine Around. Attendees will enjoy a diverse culinary journey that fuses artistry with food, as chefs such as Robert Irvine, Maneet Chauhan, Chris Santos, Rocco DiSpirito and more showcase their signature dishes and creative expertise paired with a wine, beer or spirit. UNCASVILLE, CT (May 15, 2023) – Beginning at Noon on Sunday, June 4th inside the 125,000 square foot Earth Expo center, The Sneakerhead Invasion, hosting various sneaker, streetwear and collectable vendors, will arrive in full force at Mohegan Sun. Organized by The Urban Collab, the latest and greatest from Nike, Air Jordan, Adidas and more will be up for grabs for sneakerheads of all stripes.
“Hosting a large-scale sneaker convention is something we have wanted to add to the calendar for our Expo center for some time, and we’re so happy to have the Urban Collab bringing their amazing 1-day Sneakerhead Invasion event to Mohegan Sun later this spring,” -said Kevin Barosso, Dir. of Convention & Sales for Mohegan Sun. “Not only does this convention allow for selling and trading of some of the most sought-after sneakers on the market, but across 200+ vendors, the event will also feature unique collectables, streetwear, headwear and more.”
Tickets to the Sneakerhead Invasion are available through Ticketmaster.com and start at $30 for general admission, which allows guests to bring three pairs of sneakers inside for the opportunity to sell or trade. Over the course of BBQ Fest weekend, guests will have the chance to experience 50 different, mouthwatering BBQ options, full plate vending from nationally acclaimed BBQ vendors, sample small bites in our “People’s Choice Competition” and taste up to five different styles of Wings & Ribs in our annual competition. Sun BBQ Fest will also showcase World Food Championship (WFC) sanctioned barbecue teams that compete all over the country! Tickets to Sun BBQ Fest are $15 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday and are on sale now through Ticketmaster and at Mohegan Sun Box Office. Kids ages 12 and under receive free admission. Omaha Steaks and recteq are partnering with Mohegan Sun to provide a special surprise in honor of Sun BBQ Fest’s 10th anniversary. All ticketholders to Sun BBQ Fest will be automatically entered into a drawing, and one lucky winner will receive the RT-B380 Bullseye Wood Pellet Grill, valued at $500!

Grab a seat at a picnic table and listen to exclusive BBQ tips from the pros, including Chad Rosenthal, Matt Groark and more. Connecticut’s own Bear’s Smokehouse is also bringing the heat with saucy recipe details!
Ribs & Wings Galore
Mohegan Sun is pulling back the curtain at BBQ Fest for guests to be a part of select judging times throughout the weekend. Participating World Food Championship teams will offer $2 BBQ samples all weekend long, and guests can feast throughout the day before voting for the best in show. Voting will be open from Saturday at 11:00am until Sunday at 3:00pm and the winners will be announced on Sunday at 4:00pm.
In addition to the People’s Choice competition, guests can indulge at the Rib and Wing Challenges. All participating WFC Team competitors will be given racks of ribs and loads of chicken wings to prepare in any flavor they wish. For a $5 entry, guests can try any five ribs or wings and vote for their favorite. Winners will be announced during Sunday’s Awards Ceremony at 4:00pm. The Rib Challenge Tent is open to guests on Saturday from Noon – 2:30pm, and the Wing Challenge Tent is open on Saturday from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. A portion of the proceeds from both competitions benefit Operation BBQ Relief, an organization dedicated to providing meals to disaster-stricken communities across the U.S.

All weekend long guests can pair their favorite BBQ with great live entertainment! On Saturday, June 17th, we are bringing the party with can’t-miss live performances by Kameron Marlowe, HunterGirl, Red Light, and more. Wear your boots and get ready to party! Finish an unforgettable night under the stars with an amazing firework display at approximately 9:15pm on Saturday night.
Wicked Cornhole will host a pro-standard Cornhole Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Visit SUNBBQFEST.COM for more information on how to sign up. Guests will need to download the “Scoreholio” app as well to participate in the tournament. A winning team will be announced each day of the event. Each winning team will take home $250 in cash, a one-night free hotel stay and two tickets to see a show at Mohegan Sun Arena (for available dates)! Big Dog’s Mobile Axe Throwing will also have sessions available for guests ages 12 and up. Walk-ups are available throughout the day. Sun BBQ Fest 2023 truly has something for everyone.
