Action-packed boxing card will headline Arena on January 19th
NBCSports Network’s popular “Fight Night” TV boxing series starts 2013 off with a bang on January 19th when Sergey Kovalev, 19-0-1, 17 KOs, takes on Gabriel Campillo, 21-4-1, 8 KOs, in an international 10-round Light Heavyweight Main Event. The nationally televised fight will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:00pm and will broadcast live at 9:00pm.
Tickets are $120.00 and $35.00 and are on sale now through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets are also available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office, subject to availability.
Kovalev, the 175-pound punching machine from Chelyabinsk, Russia, aptly nicknamed “Krusher,” always brings the power when he steps into the ring. Only three of his opponents have gone the distance during his three year career. His last start was a typical Kovalev affair, a three round blowout of Lionell Thompson in Bethlehem, PA. He will look to make similar short work of Campillo in January.
Campillo is a Spanish southpaw from Madrid who once reigned as the WBA 175-pound World Champion. In his last fight, he boxed circles around undefeated IBF champ Tavoris Cloud, but lost a highly controversial split decision. Campillo, known as the “Handsome Man” is a beautiful boxer looking to get back to another world title bout. Kovalev is standing in his way.
Seven bouts are planned for the January 19th card at Mohegan Sun Arena. The fights are promoted by Main Events and Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment Sports in association with Sampson Boxing.
Mohegan Sun Arena is ranked 3rd in the U.S. and 4th in the world by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 and 2010 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.” Venues Today also ranked Mohegan Sun Arena #4 in 2011 and ranked in the top six of “Top Stops of The Decade” in 2012. Twisted farm food with Midwestern roots hits the East Coast
UNCASVILLE, CT – Mohegan Sun is about to get a little twisted with the arrival of Hash House A Go Go, a new all-day dining spot opening in mid-December 2012. Conceived of Midwestern roots, the concept launched in San Diego in 2000 and now boasts six additional outposts in Las Vegas, Reno and Chicago.
Hash House A Go Go, a name fusing the ideas of “old-style food” and “something new,” creates a fun, lighthearted dining experience offering traditional diner fare, spiced up with bold flavors and off-beat, over-the-top presentations. An eclectic wine and beer list round out the spirited portion of the menu. For the caffeine addicts, the restaurant offers a variety of lattes and coffee drinks, including flavors like ‘smores mocha, caramel all over mocha and the banana latte.
The restaurant’s décor, like the food, will be one part farm, one part urban.
